Bravo to percussionist Jakob Weber Egholm here. Very simple rhythm on the snare, but playing that at the same speed over and over and over again for 15 minutes is nothing close to an easy task. Well done, sir.
What a marvellous conductor! He makes every single of the very gifted players feel indispensable - watch the drummer's joyful facial expression - and so they all give their utmost, achieving a splendid rendition of a true gem.
When I was a kid I used to watch everything on TV because we only had one channel at the time. That's how I came to listen to classical music that usually was scheduled very late. And then I noticed the facial expressions of each player, and I understood that there was something special there. That classical music could take you to a special world I always dreamed of knowing myself. Today some studies show the positive effects of this kind of music on human brain, compared to any other kind of pop music. I do believe this is true when I listen to this masterpiece and some other Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Berlioz, etc pieces.
I always pictured a caravan coming out of the desert when I heard this. Slowly at first, barely visible, but then forever closer and closer as colours becomes more vibrant and visible, then sounds and smell, before it arrives with fanfare. It is a great introduction piece for young people who are not used to classical music.
This is the finest video of this piece I have ever seen. Every soloist is featured on camera at the perfect moment and the sections are shown when they have the lead. As sections are added, they are added to the whole. The Maestro is excellent and adds a crucial emotion to the performance. No other version of Bolero on TH-cam comes even close. I watch this often it is so satisfying.
Amazing talent, I loved watching the conductor lead this group through this great piece of music, he knew the long hours of practice this group had gone through was at a peak as thet performed here. Bravos to all involved!
Wow. So much to admire about this performance. What an incredible percussionist, metronomic the whole piece. Superb. I also loved the constant smiling of encouragement from the conductor.
Over the past year I've watched and listened to countless live renditions of this masterpiece. Just when I think I've already heard the best, I then find your's. This is absolute perfection in its entirety
The flute lady almost lost it at 6:00 ,conductor and a drummer thanked God, she didnt even flinch, but I think she played the instrument beautifully in a sweetest possible way. Thanks to all for the master piece.
When the Conquisadors invaded North America they employed one soldier who's only job as to count every step the column took on its march. The snare drummer in this performance could be that guy! The listener is delighted and can easily hear by the repetition that Ravel was going off the edge of reality very soon! Fabulous performance!
This symphoney collects all our life experirces as we get old and evetully die. our whole life goes like one movement sympony such as the rythem of this master piece getting movementun as we get old and ends with all our life experiences in a single loud movement . Bolero Ravels, in my humble opinion , is when a child is born it goes though life slowly moving through day and night in a symphony ,learning through lif by the same rythem, ending in a big loud noise. What do you guys think about the meaning of this master piece, please share.
Can you hear Hannibals elefants marching on towards the destruction of Rome? That's what I always imagined. Wonderfull performance that I watched as a new year concert 2022. Cudoes to percussionist Jacob for his persistent rhythm all through the set. ❤❤❤
Props to the drummer who has the hardest job
Mind blowing focus, concentration and co ordination
I concur, wholeheartedly. The string section is a very close second...
Absolutely harder then people think to keep that up
generally the drummer is not mentioned, although he sets the rhythm. If he misses, everything goes wrong. Big thumbs up to all drummers
@@mkgymif he misses, it’s up to the timpani, bass, and tuba(at a point) to it somewhat together..
Bravo to percussionist Jakob Weber Egholm here. Very simple rhythm on the snare, but playing that at the same speed over and over and over again for 15 minutes is nothing close to an easy task. Well done, sir.
Yes he did a great job!
I could never concentrate so much, to not make mistakes during that long time!
The same speed, but slightly higher volume each time.
We think setting volume is harder than keeping same pattern.
He's the foundation of the entire piece. To be in his place - no thank you!
What a marvellous conductor! He makes every single of the very gifted players feel indispensable - watch the drummer's joyful facial expression - and so they all give their utmost, achieving a splendid rendition of a true gem.
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is my favorite.

Whether it's the short or long version, I am always impressed that the initial drummer is able to maintain that cadence throughout. Kudos!
Best version of Bolero I've seen/heard. The smile on the percussionist's face (and the other musicians) is just so amazingly pleasant.
I would have to agree with you there, another good version, is a flash mob Orchestra, in a Yorkshire shopping Mall!
Did you see Andre Rieu version? Also VERY GOOD! imo the best version of Bolero

Bruno Bozzetto did an animation set to Bolero which is very similar to what you describe, but... with a typical Bozzetto twist. You may enjoy it.
@@ChrisMorgan42 I know his animations, but not that particular one. Thank you!
And I see Torvill and Dean ice skating at the Olympics.
thank God for my eyes, ears, soul, and Apple Airpods Pro. thank God for YT, Wi-Fi, and all of you, and you, and you, and you.
Danish National Symphony Orchestra is amongst the best I've heard.
The more I watch this the more i find the trombone player very smooth. Sounds so good.
😇
Best and most French sounding Bolero trombone solo ever ❤
😇
Ahhhhh, glissando!
One song the drummer doesn't want to get the yips, totally nailed it.
Nice saxophones 😊 Wonderful performance.
Can’t listen to this without imagining Jane and Chris icedancing
Bravo!! So powerful at the end. Great orchestra. I love it!
I am ignorant. But I love the brilliance of this. Thankyou
Mr. Tausk is amazing!

Within the first minute I knew this was going to be a special performance, and indeed it was.
That is such a beautiful piece of music
Wow. So much to admire about this performance. What an incredible percussionist, metronomic the whole piece. Superb. I also loved the constant smiling of encouragement from the conductor.
Very enjoyable music from the best orchestra of today 😘☝️

its interesting the expression on conductor's face whenever he is focused by the camera... you can tell he is feeling it. Great job
The flute lady almost lost it at 6:00 ,conductor and a drummer thanked God, she didnt even flinch, but I think she played the instrument beautifully in a sweetest possible way. Thanks to all for the master piece.
This is surely the very best presentation of this Bolero I have ever listened to. DNSO has taken this to the next level.
Dudamel version 's kill it
This was actually the one that got me tuned to classical music, and mind you at the time i was pretty much exclusive listening to heavy rock.
Ein Genuss da zu zuhören 🥰🥰🥰
👍👍
A wonderful piece, and you get to see who the principals are in the orchestra.
This instantaneously became one of my favourite recordings of the Bolero! Thank you once again for sharing. 😊
BRAVO!!! PERFECTO AS IS PAR FOR THE COURSE WITH YOUR SYMPHONY.
One of the most famous sounds of a soundtrack. This interpretation is beautiful ❤️
Seoul is good too
Spectacular

Amazing
This here is my definition of life. This sound is the meaning of life
As a Danish taxpayer I approve of the small contribution of my taxes that goes into funding this.
As a French citizen, I accept a part of my european taxes will be redistributed towards the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.

😎

Amazing work, was wanderful experinece. Bud i heard symphony chain like X=X+1
