Le Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn circule au cœur des Alpes, de Zermatt à Disentis et d’Andermatt à Göschenen sur un réseau ferroviaire de 144 kilomètres.
Le train avale un dénivelé total de 3300 mètres, traverse 33 tunnels et galeries et franchit 126 ponts.
Située à une altitude de 625 mètres, la ville de Viège est le point le plus bas du réseau. Le Col de l’Oberalp, qui culmine à 2033 mètres d’altitude, est le point le plus élevé.
Le Glacier Express propose un voyage pour tous les sens, de l’Engadine jusqu’au Mont Cervin.
Avançant à une allure moyenne de 36 km/h, il relie la très glamour St-Moritz à la non moins élégante Zermatt et enchante ses passagers par les charmes des paysages traversés et ses prouesses techniques.
Avec ses baies vitrées montant jusqu’au toit, le Glacier Express offre une vue parfaitement dégagée sur les montagnes.

Der tiefste Punkt auf der Reise ist Visp mit 625 m ü. M. Der höchste Punkt befindet sich auf dem Oberalppass auf 2033 m ü.M.

Great footage, thank you for sharing. I travelled this route after catching the Glacier Express to Zermatt in May last year, it is nice to revisit the journey from a different perspective.

The route from Zermatt to Visp is actually a pretty steep drop, and the climb from Visp eastwards (not shown in this video) is also fairly steep, too.

Filmed using a GoPro, the GPS speed and altitude indications are not precise.
Displayed for information purposes, there may be inconsistencies with the speed and actual route of the train.
Understood, and I didn't mean to be overly critical - it's a great video and interesting to see the changes since I was last there - but for me the vertical chart was distracting as it didn't really reflect the real gradients.
@@markrgoodspeed I try to do the best I can. This video was my first cabride movie a year ago. Since then I have been trying to improve.
