- Eine Führerstandsmitfahrt mit der Zillertalbahn, einer österreichische Schmalspurbahn in der Bosnischen Spurweite von 760 mm. Sie führt durch das Zillertal in Tirol von Jenbach nach Mayrhofen. Betrieben wird sie durch die Zillertaler Verkehrsbetriebe AG - vormals Zillertalbahn AG - mit Sitz in Jenbach.

Mittlerweile 48x Urlaub in Zell am Ziller gemacht. Zuerst als kleiner Bub mit meinen Eltern, dann alleine Wanderurlaub, mittlerweile mit meiner Frau und eigenen Söhne jedes Jahr. Die wollen immer ins Zillertal.

@@sehenswertes Ich war auch im Zillertal mit Pussack Reisen zum Almabtrieb in Fügen und Fahrt mit der Dampflok der Zillertal- Bahn nach Mayrhofen auch in Insbruck waren wir. Geschlafen haben wir in Kaltenbach.

I am also from England (Doncaster) and agree about the scenery. I have seen many videos of this sort but we have some great places too.
Love Austria, Switzerland and the Alp region of Italy, Germany and France. The most beautiful area of the world. My wife and I went to Sankt Johann I'm Pongau for our honeymoon and traveled these tracks to Innsbruck, Salzburg, Hallstatt and Linz. Beautiful

Wir waren schon drei mal in Ried i. Zillertal, sind aber noch nie mit der Bahn gefahren, prima die Aussicht.
Ist wirklich sehr angenehm zu fahren.

Das ist eine gute Frage. Leider kann ich diese nicht beantworten
"Eine weitere Besonderheit ist, dass im Bahnhof Kaltenbach zwischen den beiden Hauptgleisen ein drittes Gleis auf dem Mittelbahnsteig geführt wird.
Für den täglichen Betrieb reichen die beiden Gleise links und rechts des Mittelbahnsteiges grundsätzlich aus. Doch die Fahrplangestaltung gestaltete sich schwierig, wenn der historische Dampfzug einen Planzug kreuzen und den ihm nachfolgenden überholen lassen musste. Auf dem dritten Gleis kann nun der Dampfzug die Kreuzung der beiden Planzüge abwarten und im Anschluss seine Fahrt fortsetzen."

Lovely country. Picture postcard perfect. But surprisingly the rails seems to be on narrow gauge instead of the standard meter gauge across the world. Nevertheless it there is an old world charm about it.
Narrow gauge in Austria is a mix of 760mm (Zillertalbahn, Murtalbahn, Mariazellerbahn, Feistritztalbahn, Pinzgauer Lokalbahn, ...) and 1000mm (Stubaitalbahn, Achenseebahn, Schafbergbahn, Schneebergbahn, Atterseebahn, Traunseebahn, and the trams of Innsbruck). And then there's also 900mm on the tram network of Linz.
Most of the network is in standard gauge though (1435mm, like most of the world).
