I actually would enjoy watching these runs! It can be Any% All Rooms! You have to visit all the rooms, but not necessarily have to clear all the ghosts! Complete the storyline with as little ghosts as possible?
Ive seen the spiked doors phenomenon by performing a Holding N’ Talking while losing on Jarvis’ game. He warps you to the hallway while you still have a jewel, but doors are permanently spiked, and its pretty much a softlock on normal means
there’s a tiny glitch in the game, if you don’t talk to the toad in the foyer but you wait until you get to the bathroom after 5 boos. if you talk to the toad and make the room lit then teleport to the dark foyer, it’ll actually light the room up meaning you never really had to talk to toad, what’s weird is when you go talk to the toad while the foyer is lit, he’ll still have his intro dialogue
That's freaking insane! One of my favorite games! Played it about 60 times. Never have I had that happen... I've had pitch black moments or seeing through the floor which shows the outside clouds or whatever lol but that could have been from the disc being old.
You know its funny, I remember one time I pulled out the Game boy Horror first person view, and saw a perfect thin strip of the outside from within the Tea Room. It was like along the middle part of the walls and it went all the way around. Never seen pitch black though.... 🤔🤔
@@OfficialGlitchDoctor that's pretty interesting! Yeah the pitch black might have been the disc being old and faulty lol. Had to reset it I believe when it happened...
Took me this video to realize all door spike lock commands are only performed in mirror-less rooms lol (if the Mirror Room used to lack the puzzle, and their decision to add it led to them removing the warp from that mirror, I wouldn't be surprised) But I also realized this makes the door unlock performed during a warp unseen behavior. Neat I guess, just looked in here and they did in fact code an exclusive unlock function for one of the warp functions. Maybe added as a failsafe.
When we proposed the how the spikes were removed I came up with a theory and we tested it, but it never occurred to me that it may work differently based on different rooms. I wonder what the specific coding for the Mirror Warp cancel in the Fire Medallion room might be. Could even be that mirror warping while spikes are active is completely disabled until you acquire the Fire Medallion. I'll need to test it.
@@FlipdewNot really. I tested this in a new save file using walk through walls. The code doesn't have anything to suggest a check for that. Though I've no idea what some of checked values are supposed to be (damn, dumb browser delay)
@@mickkelley3776 Lol naturally!! Funny thing is, this isn't the only time. I've been a part of his community for a bit but the man has a one time performed glitch finding rap sheet longer than most ponytails. It's crazy, there's not a single game he can't break.
Awesome video as always. If you don't mind taking a small critique though, I personally don't think the MrBeast captions fit this video format very well. I find them to be more distracting than engaging, especially since they just seem to pop up at random. I feel like if you're going to use them, it should be to emphasize important points or details (6:43 is the one example in this video that I think works well, especially with the pun lol). Hopefully this doesn't come across as pedantic; it was just something that bugged me that I'd probably want to know about if it was my own work. Overall great video! Always love learning new stuff about this game.
I had a strange clip through in this game once that I've never seen anywhere else or have been able to recreate. I was in the Safari room and I seem to have been scared by the spawn of a ghost while also slipping on a banana. This caused Luigi to clip below into the Guest Room where I could've done those two rooms by getting water from the Sitting Room and then warp back to the Foyer with the mirror in the Guest Room. This was back in 2010/2011. I wasn't recording my gameplay and I didn't have a camera to take a picture or video of where I was. Sadly I decided to reset the game rather to my last save instead of trying to complete the two rooms before I faced Boolossus. I'm hoping to either recreate this glitch or maybe someone with more expertise can tackle this.
BRO I of course don't remember it well, but I remember my dad doing something very similar back in 2004. He went "check this out" and clipped from the Attic to the King Boo room from what I can remember. I've talked about it a lot but this is the first time anyone says something similar to it. Maybe they're the same one.
@@Flipdew That's interesting that there are multiple clips in the Attic that can be remembered by us. Would you happen to remember what room he was in? Sounds like he could've been in one of those two middle rooms or in the middle of the balcony.
@@LNERFlyingScotsman The way I remember it (and of course it's been 20 years and I was a child so take with a grain of salt) I remember him interacting with the elevator, then clipping to Safari Room getting a top the shelves, fidgeting between the deer heads and into Final Room. The way he said it so casually sounded like it was a glitch he could do consistently. But for a long time I was sure this was the intended way to access that room, so maybe there's definitely something to it.
Yes, actually I do have a weird thing like this. My Mario galaxy 2 disc is scratched, so whenever I’m on starship Mario, one of the leaves of a fruit on the floating platform you access with yoshi, is just incredibly squished and stretched out. Parameters for the object got messed up in a funny way.
Yes, Saria attempted to do a TAS but there are a bunch of problems. First the trick requires precise movements, my controller wasnt shown so TAS cant replicate it. Second even if we did, we don't have that much control over the Shy Guy, so its extremely unlikely that a TAS by eye could replicate it.
Hey there is one glitch that actually happened in the game. It's when you are at the porch where Toad is and when you were trying to push Toad, he actually moved! It even happened at the bathroom! Ain't that cool?
The reason it wasn't TASd is cuz Flip didn't have a controller input viewer on his stream (as it was his first ever stream) So people like Saria who do the TASs couldn't copy Flip's exact movements, so until someone accidentally comes across it once more it doesn't look like a TAS will be made.
I hate to break it to you, but said "angle change" when Luigi gets hit is the animation, not Luigi's actual angle being changed. This very likely doesn't effect Luigi's hitbox. You can see in this video at 2:24. th-cam.com/video/o9FM26s7tPo/w-d-xo.html
Yoooo I didn't expect to get a whole video made out of this.
This is so cool bro, appreciate giving my little achievement the spotlight.
I love how Luigi screams in terror afterwards. Even he is confused
Gonna make a new category to make this glitch viable: Minimum ghosts run.
Unless you ban the Chauncey chest clip, you'd basically just be playing an any% run.

Love seeing people still taking an interest in this game.
Me, too. It's one of the gams where I think it's a shame most people have moved on from.
I always find it very interesting when Sudden glitches occur And turn out to be impossible to reproduce. It's 1 of the coolest things in video games

Very cool the community is still finding new glitches in this game almost 20 years later - love to see it!
Love that Flipdew's getting some representation. The video's great! - Flip's Editor that he never gives projects to (Im still waiting)

Excellent video dude! Well made.
Thank you! 😄
Question then is, why can't anyone else do it?
Is my man Flip just THAT GOATED?!
I mean, Luigi flipped, and he IS Flipdew, so naturally he'd be able to do the flip.

More of a hardware issue, and not a rare glitch, but it’s still something weird and unique.
I hope you do more videos on glitches that can't be reproduced

isn’t this like the TTC teleport in SM64
that one could be explained by a faulty cartridge/the cartridge not being properly slotted in.
