I'm a dude who wanted to get a dog for years. Looked into all of the breeds. Even thought about a Pitbull. Never ever thought of getting a Chihuahua. Randomly I ended up with one and now I absolutely love this little guy so much that I had to get another one. So now I'm a single dude in his 30s with 2 chihuahuas. Lmao. I love them.
Your gonna wake up one day and have your index would be ripped off and blood would be pouring out because your 2 little Lucifers decided he was hungry, at least that’s how I’d imagine owning two chihuahuas.
@@NIgHTMaReFortyTwo I mean if the animal is already alive it's better to take that animal in than kill it or something similar. I wouldn't support those breeders by buying a dog or pet that has many genetic issues but if the owner passes or if that animal is at a shelter it's better to take them in and care for them than having them killed isn't it?
I completely agree! Its a grave disservice to this sweet breed to promote the idea that they are mean and bitey. I might feel like snapping if I was being provoked by one of those idiots!
That's the key to chihuahuas. My husband was not thrilled because of their unfair reputation. Everyone who meets me 2 are instantly in love and have since changed their minds about chi's. I have 6 granddaughters who've been taught to respect the pups personal space. My youngest granddaughter is 2 and ADORES the pups. I'll forever have chi's. They have a ton of energy and play well with our 3 lunatic Boston Terrorists. ❤
@@janiceplatt6993 daily I feel like snapping at idiots. Ironically, I find adults in the world to be the worst. Children who are raised to be respectful of animals are so much easier to teach respectful animal behavior to. They ALWAYS ask if they can approach and pet a new animal. They never approach service animals. They've learned that they can compliment the owner and if that owner volunteers that it is OK only then will they approach. They do not ask to pet or encroach on a working animal's space. My uncle is blind and I may need a service animal for my severe hearing loss. I'm rapidly approaching fully deaf in 1 ear and I have 70% loss in the other.
I inherited my sister's dog when she lost her battle with cancer. We're inseparable now and I cherish every day I get with her little old bones. I hope I'm doing my sister proud.
I'm in a similar situation as you. I had no idea what a good dog I was inheriting. He's about 12 years old and has adapted to so much yet has stayed just as sweet, so long as you aren't a little kid trying to pet him.
Luckily Chihuahuas live a long time, my Chihuahua is 18 years old and still have a little more time in her. She is also in great condition health wise.
"She's nine now.. I wish that time would just slow down so I could love her longer..." probably the most beautiful poetic thing I've heard in a long time
That line sums up how much she really loves this little dog that she took in. And Tina is so cute and amazing. Glad that Tina found her forever home with this wonderful human being.
I love seeing friendly, happy chihuahuas. They've got so much potential to be little bundles of joy, but so many owners ruin them as puppies by inadvertently teaching them to be all snarly and snappy because they think "it's so cute!" and praise and reward the puppy for doing it. This little girl's mom did it right, and now she's got two more moms keeping up the good work. ❤
@@somesuchx8912unfortunately so many small dogs’ needs aren’t met bc they aren’t considered “actual dogs” like medium/large breeds. They get their personal space invaded, they are often triggered to the point they snap all the time, their behavioural issues aren’t corrected because “it’s just chihuahuas, they are like that” no they’re not! Sadly, this borderline abusive dog parenting can be seen all over tiktok and IRL aswell
@@somesuchx8912see tiktokers for example, they do that all the time, they think "Agressive Chihuahuas are so funny" because they can't actually hurt you no matter what, so you can annoy them. That's a mess up way of thinking, but really common, those tiktok videos have a lot of views.
I have a similar breed of dog, didn't socialize him that much as a puppy, so now he always barks at people when i take him for a walk. He's also a bit spoiled and has some attitude, but if he's used to a person he becomes a pretty sweet dog
I love the concept of telling your new pet about your previous pet! That’s a beautiful way to deal with grief and I can completely see how beneficial that would be! 🥰
Me too! I didn’t know it was common actually. I just did it naturally because it felt like the right thing to do. 💖 I had lost my dog of almost 10 years June 6th 2020 and then February 2021, my family cat had also passed as he was almost 14 years old and had many underlying health problems and I was having a really hard time coping since I had basically grown up with them. They were my babies. I lived in a house of 3 other animals, but none of which were mine and for some reason bonding and spending time with them just didn’t feel the same (not that I don’t love them because I DO love them) and I knew that I needed an animal that I could call mine and only mine. My sister’s cat had just had kittens and I’m definitely a lover of cats and she gave me one of her kittens in August 2021. I felt so incredibly guilty but at the same time I was so happy to have my own furry friend again and I noticed she kept gravitating towards the box of my dog’s ashes on my dresser and would play with his leash and collar that I have wrapped around it as well as act like she was playing with something around it in the air and as someone that’s very spiritual, I had a feeling it was my boy coming to say hi to her and play with her as he was extremely playful and loved everyone (and was especially nosy with cats lol). So I started telling her all about him and saying how much they would have loved each other and how she reminded me of him because they’re both so energetic, playful, brave and sweet. It helped so much. 💖 I still get sad thinking of him as it’s only been 2 years, now, but the pain is more bearable than before and having my cat has helped so much. (Even if she does sound like a pterodactyl sometimes when she meows to get my attention and chew on my poor freaking bamboo plant **sigh** 😂💖)
Yeah, I started tearing up a bit when she mentioned that part. I'd probably be a bag of pieces trying to communicate that, and I have yet to lose my first dog (a deerhead chihuahua I named Cannoli. Also wish I could just be with him in every moment and we are when I'm at home, haha. The separation anxiety is going to suck when I am working again x_x)
When I lost my hamster, when I was younger, and my parents got a puppy immediately afterwards and I almost annoyed with that because they were pretty much replacing my hamster. I remember complaining about how my family treated my hamster and all the times I had with him to the new puppy who just quietly listened (and once I finished he run and grab a toy XD)
I feel for her when she says she felt guilty to take another dog too soon after a couple of months. It’s been 3 years for me and I still feel guilty to get another dog. He was 12 years old.
You could adopt a dog in need of a home, in honor of the life and love you shared with your previous dog. I love the idea of telling the new dog all about the other one- massively therapeutic and beautiful.
My chihuahua died at age 14 and I was in so much grief, I got another chihuahua only 2 months later. For me, it was a big mistake because all I did (at first) was compare him to my former dog. Now, I love him dearly, but I wouldn’t recommend making a huge commitment so soon after losing a pet.
@@youmatter4900 I have done this with my roomates pets bcz they were just so misbehaved and untrained compared to my dog they wouldn't let us sleep by barking would pee on our bed and get into our trash ECT and then I realized that it was my fault for living there and u can't control how other people treat their pets. It was so hard though. I can't imagine comparing a pet to an older pet
Just remember your not replacing your loss your previous dog will always be a part of you a new dog will not fill the hole your previous dog left. There are lots of dogs who need homes and your previous dog would look down on you proud to see you give the same amazing quality of life that they had. It's not wrong or replacing to be willing to take in another dog although I can really feel how it would seem that way I had the same issue after my cat of 18 years died. But you've just got to remember that all animals are there unique personalities and would be more then happy to help heal the pain of your loss. They will never replace your previous dogs memory but they will find a place in your heart and become an important part of your life. I like to imagine that when you get another pet after loosing one your previous pet or pets help guide you to find the animal that needs you most. Sorry for the ramble but on a more practical note a great place to start if you do want another dog could be fostering your helping dogs in need and honoring your dogs memory by giving other dogs a chance to find an amazing human and have incredible lives. I hope this helps I really feel your pain I lost my cat 5 years ago and it still effects me it was really hard to get a new pet after that loss so I really understand it.
Me too! And for good reason. I had one try to eat me when I was a child. Very protective! Now to live with n be owned by one has shown me I’ve missed out on a lifetime of their amazing little personalities.
As a child my neighbor had one that'd hated me.She was not ever going to except me so I gave up.Now I own one that won't stop barking at people & bites me.
I really enjoyed this. I have my first Chihuahua, after many other breeds. I just lost my husband of 50 years years. He brought her home from an animal shelter. He knew she would help me through my grief. He got to enjoy her for 5 years before he died of cancer. This little dog was a blessing.
Confusion of small-brained, small canine companions. All of them are in on the ruse to steal domesticated mankind companions from the cats 😂 Lost my darling 17 year old Kitty 7 months ago. Life is still utterly unbearable without her 💔. Miss you so much 😔
The tiny harness clipped into a basket that is secured with a seat belt is wonderful. It makes me so happy to see animals properly secured and safe in vehicles. Also the tiny life jacket is so cuuuute.
Lol I got my chihuahua that same car-seat basket thing. I loved sitting in my lap, but I wanted to make sure he was safe. They aren't too bad! easy to set up in a car too!
We took in a 16 year old Chihuahua after his daddy died. He’s not as spunky as Tina, but it is a joy to give him a safe and loving home to help mend his broken heart. Hope Tina has at least another 8 years with you!
If only we could communicate to them in a human way to explain why there best bod left them, not because they wanted to! All you can do is show them care and love (witch I’m sure you are) and just let them be them.
@@rebecca5131 I was just thinking this morning how happy the little man would be to see his daddy. Hoping we will all have a party someday on the other side.
My vet said 12 is the avg age they live, so this is very hopeful. My Chihuahua is 13. She was removed from a breeder and bad abuse. We have 5 pets that were abused and 2 feral cats. They are our besties and sleep where we do. One is diabetic and gets shots 2x a day. Another has hyperthyroidism. My large dog is a Great Dane mix and he's her cuddle buddy on my bed. Taking good care of them can get expensive, but they're our family. I'll give up material things for them anytime.
This is a gorgeous video. I lost my beloved Jackchi this March and she had dementia for the last few months. Boy was that hard. She was a huge character as well. Chihuahuas have the biggest personality! Thanks for making me smile.
Chihuahuas make wonderful companions. They are easy to care for and require little grooming since the long-haired Chihuahuas' coats do not tangle easily. Being a small breed, they also have lower food requirements compared to larger dogs. Chihuahuas can be territorial, affectionate, and very attached to their owners. How long have you had your Chihuahua?
How incredibly adorable. The energy is astounding. I don't think it could have worked out more perfectly. And l love the doggie talk. It gives a sense of real conversation.
What luck you were offered this precious dog! I miss my little Cricket so much. Same color chihuahua and same cute run. She did live for 16 1/2 years. I met her sibling and she was 17. So hopefully you will have her a good long time. I love my little chihuahua mix I rescued too in my photo.
Not only is she cute and opinionated, that is one of the best cared for chihuahuas I've ever seen... And her siblings look amazing, too. That's love. Amazing dog moms right there. I'm certain Tina's first family was also amazing as well and it shows.
Shes overweight, its very important to keep chihuahuas at a healthy weight. Bad breath means it needs dental cleanings aswell, also super important for chihuahuas.
@@prozak715 Omg I see your profile picture lately for the past few days on videos I watch. Hello random person who watches the same videos as me lol 👋🏻🥳
That’s a small dog with big attitude! Never feel guilty for giving an animal a new home - you’re not being disloyal to your previous pup. When the universe sends you what you obviously need, hold your hand out! Love from England xxx
I understand the feeling of guilt you could have at “replacing” a dog with another dog, however I feel that rescuing a dog is really the greatest way to honor your dog that passed. You’re obviously a wonderful pet parent and any dog is lucky to be with you. I’m sure Beebs is happy that Tina is with you and it’s my belief that the coming together of you and Tina was orchestrated.
I got standard poodle as craigslist's rescue 4 years a week after my childhood toy poodle was put down. My grandparents couldn't handle the silence and I think obviously not having something to baby since all the grandkids are grown. She was very sick at first with a common stomach parasite that went untreated to the point she was severely dehydrated, took months for her to recover its left her with a sensitive stomach ever since. She transitioned very well being around mobility aids and medical supplies. An very spoiled, she thinks she's only cute thing in existence.
Idk about “honoring” your dog sounds like mental gymnastics. Moving on but not honoring. Idk if my hypothetical ex wife would feel “honored” if I got a new girl 6 months later after she died.
"I wish time would just slow down so I could love her for longer" beautiful words and sentiment. I lost my old dog last October, and no truer words and sentiment have been said and felt. I'm so happy you found each other.
@@stacymagnusson5683 thank you Stacy. I had 2 dogs. So still have one, he stopped me from crumbling because I had to just carry on walking and caring for him. I'm so grateful to him. They were an odd couple : ) small Brussels Griffon (who passed) and my long legged lovely - a greyhound cross. The previous time I lost a dog I actually lost 2 relatively young dogs in 6 months and waited 2 years before I got the Brussels Griffon. The grief was v different this time, we had a full life together, and I still had the gift of Milligan the greyhound.
@@lw3269 Im so sorry. 20 years wow, how lucky you must feel to have had all that time together. Take comfort in the fact you gave them a long happy life.
Sorry to hear of your loss. I always tell everyone who gets a puppy, enjoy every minute, their lives are too short. Looks like you received an angel in disguise with her. Bless you for opening your broken heart. I believe animals somewhat understand when we speak to them and I'm sure Tina wanted to tell you about her lost friend also.
I feel the same. My gorgeous chihuahua is 10, and the years have gone too fast! Feels like only a short while ago he was a tiny puppy. Some days you just want time to stand still for a while, to keep your loved ones with you for longer 💕
I can relate to that level of love. I had a Golden Retriever for 13 years. He was the love of my life! My husband said if I could have, I would have married him and had his puppies….
Chihuahuas make wonderful companions. They are easy to care for and require little grooming since the long-haired Chihuahuas' coats do not tangle easily. My husband loved his Chihuahuas. His last one was "Little Man" and when my husband passed that little dog couldn't go into his bedroom without getting sick. So when Little Man passed a year later his ashes was placed where my late husband was buried. Little Man's ashes was so tiny just pulled up the flower vase where his daddy was buried and Little Man is with his dad. Thank you for this video; Little Man was the same color and just as much fun..good memories.
Beautiful story. My dog, Jessie, adored my mum and dad. My mum died in 2016, my dad in 2021, and Jessie in 2022. I have my mum's urn on one side of the fireplace, my dad's on the other, and in between is Jessie's urn. She's happy there.
..this is the real reason why I can't own pets. I couldn't stand their deaths, but most of all, my pets wouldn't be able to stand my death. Plus I most probably will live all alone. So.. I probably shouldn't have any, because when I die first, grief would quickly cease to be their biggest concern.
I started bawling when she talked about driving Tina around and telling her about her old dog. I lost my dog a few weeks ago, and maybe one day I’ll get to tell my new dog all about Katie ❤️
So sorry. It is really hard. You will reach a time when although the sadness never goes away you will start remembering them with a huge smile in your heart and it wont be so painful. I'm just reaching that stage now with my departed boy and I just get this rush of love and joy about how lucky I was to have such a great dog and companion. I miss him so much but it does get easier. Such a pure love, not complicated like human relationships. When a beloved dog dies there are no, what ifs, I wish I had said this or that... just pure love.
Awe I'm so sorry for you, I hope it gets better...ive lost many dogs, and it's really hard, but just remember that they're in a better place, and loved you endlessly, and still do wherever they are, even if they're not here anymore.
I learned about the deep emotional pain the loss of a best friend dog leaves us. So I learned to easiest way to heal that pain is with the love of another dog. I generally have 2-3 dogs all in different stages of age (puppy, middle age, senior) just so when the senior passes I have the other 2 to help me grieve. We just lost our 15-year old yellow lab Chunk, and it was devastating, but without 9-year old Sammy and 6-year old King, I would have been even more of a mess than I was/am. In a few years, or sooner, I’ll add a puppy/youngling to the pack. And so on. What’s great is the older dogs teach the young pup how to behave. When bedtime is, when feeds happen, how to tell the human about potty needs, certain cues we use and hand gestures for behavior. It’s really nice, I hardly have to train at all. So my advice is get another furry best friend ASAP. Or better yet, open your mind and heart to the universe you want to give a dog a home and one will find YOU!! It’s happened to me many times lol.
Not a day goes by that I don’t have this very same thought! I’m so grateful to share life with two crazy, loving Chih-mix boys, who at 12 & 15Y are technically “seniors” but I think they destroyed the memo so they could pull off “puppyhood” a few more years! -I cannot begin to fathom a chihuahua-free existence!
"I wished time would just slow down so I could love her for longer.". Such a sweet statement. I wish them a long, loving, fun life together. They both deserve it after their losses. Thank you for sharing.
i feel like all my previous pets would be sad if i stopped loving more animals because i lost them. i had honestly considered never getting a cat after losing my cat Bob in a very tramuatic way but then suddenly a kitten gets dropped at my house and now i have 2 cats and if i move in with my partner we'll have 6 altogether lol.
I know it still hurts. I just lost my little baby girl 1 month ago. She was 12 and my heart was broken. I knew the day would come and I also felt guilty because I'm looking into a rescue dog. I will never get another Chi because she is the only Chi I will ever have. But I knew she went to a good place and she's happy. If anybody is an animal lover, they have enough love to give to another pet. It will be different love, but they will be loved. ❤
1. Tina is so freaking adorable and I love her little bark and how she zooms to you when she’s called 🥺 and 2. those brick floors in their house are stunning!!
I adopted a long coated chihuahua two years ago. She has a huge, funny personality, but is almost completely silent. I feel lucky to have such a quiet dog! I like the way Tina talks, though.
Just goes to show there’s a Chi Chi for everyone-mine were chill & quiet. 🫶🫶🫶 My Joey & Lily made it to 14 & 16 respectively…. me & my pittie Tank miss them tremendously!
My chihuahua is 4 yrs old. She's almost always silent. But for some reason, she does seem to bark more often than she used to - when something outside peaks her interest. But her fur sticks up on her back so I don't think it's a happy bark. But I always shush her b/c I don't want neighbors to complain. She's larger than I wanted so I think she's mixed with a terrier. When I first got her a couple yrs ago, I thought she was mixed with greyhound b/c her body looked like a small greyhound. The chihuahua in the video I would give my left arm for and she could bark to her tiny heart content!! Such a quiet bark!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗
I had never owned a pet in my entire life and at age 27 was asked to rescue a brand new chihuahua puppy from a dire situation. My puppy Chip was JUST like Tina! I love how beautiful this message is, because people have this idea that this breed of dog is snippy and rude! Bless you for doing this, as I like to say you can tell she is clearly a product of her environment 💕❤️
"I never wanted a chihuahua before," says most fans of the breed after they get one. No one really starts out wanting a tiny house goblin. But, once you have one it's so hard not to love them so much. I was the exact same way but, when it came time where I was looking for a dog, research showed it was the best fit for my space and lifestyle. I went with the wisdom of what research suggested and it was the best decision I've ever made. Now I'm a chipin mom.
my mom is the same, she had pure breed miniature pinchers in the 90s but when all of them passed away she gave up on animals and said she would never have an animal again until 2019 she adopted a shelter min pin with terrible breath and she loves her lol
It makes me so happy seeing someone who knows how to have a small dog without freaking it out. Small dog take special considerations many don’t pick up on. Small dog bond is so special.
💯thanks for pointing this out 💯 Dobies are my heart & soul dogs, but I have an 8lb, rescued, Pom (PomChi?) in my life right now and I'm having to completely adjust my voice and movements (she's a nervous, worried girl who freaks out about sharp noises including my big laughter 😳😥) so this video is an excellent example of what I hope my little Golden Girl Betty & I can be together someday. edit: punctuation
Honestly dogs need to treat their masters like, well masters, not parents. If a dog don't respond positively to training after two weeks, I default to crate training and lock it in a crate, sometimes with a muzzle on, for a few hours at a time.
@@aaaaaaoooommmm I have a beautiful Pomchi boy named Jasper. He is 4yrs old and he was really high strung even as a puppy. It took a lot of work to make him feel more comfortable in his new environment but he's turned into the most loving, dedicated and caring dog. I've had many dogs in my life time and never have I felt such a strong bond with any of them like I have him. He's nothing short of precious and my whole world. Just give your Pomchi girl a little time and tons of attention and she'll come into her own!! It's so worth the time and effort!!
When she said "I wish that time would just slow down so I could love her for longer", it hit me like a truck. I lost my chihuahua a month ago and I miss him all the time, I wish time could've slowed down.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Sadly, I know the feeling 😪 My Mickey crossed the bridge 3 years ago. And I still feel like I'm missing a part of myself. He was 19, a rescue, and 10 years was not long enough.
My wife and I have had lots of dog breeds throughout or lives. We were blessed with with a chihuahua a few years back. She was dumped at our front gate in the country. We love Baby Girl, and she loves us too. She is the most vocal dog we have ever had. Not barking just talks to us. ❤
"Wish time would slow down so I could love her longer." Felt that one. My dog is 13 now and he's a big fella, 100 pounds of idiot muscle. I need another 13 years minimum.
I used to not like chihuahuas at all until we got one. Brought him home and he had (and still does) have SOOO much personality. They kind of act like humans in a way sometimes. They’re really funny and definitely the boss. I love my little man! His name is Steve. Steven when he gets in trouble.
"I wish time would slow down, so I could love her for longer"--how beautifully expressed. The joy of loving, the sadness of loving. Impossible not to fall in love with Tina.
Her vocalizations are absolutely adorable. Such a happy baby. God put her in the right hands. Bless you and may you have many, many more years with her!
What a wonderful little family you have and you all get to go for rides. This is so adorable. A Vietnam vet who was dying of Agent Orange gave me his little rescue. His name is Max he is a long-haired Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua mix and he is the light of my life. Thank you for sharing all of the fun and love.
What a wonderful woman. I love Tina's gallop and everything about her. She landed in the best possible home. I hope and pray Tina lasts many more years. Chihuahuas have longevity !
Can you imagine how happy Tina's previous owner would be knowing how loved and happy her baby was in her new home after she died. I'd be so worried about my pets being loved and cared for if I died 🥺
I adopted a senior chi that’ll a year ago and he’s now 13. He’s such an a-hole to my wife and she’s the one that found him but he immediately chose me and is everywhere I go. I love the little guy. He was pretty much emaciated and smelled terrible, half of his fur was gone and has since grown back. I just want the last years of his life to be the best. This story touched my heart and made me smile.
My roommate’s chihuahua was like this. Her personality took over the whole house. Between her and my cat, they were the 2 biggest personalities in the house. The energy in the house hasn’t recovered from losing them even though the other cat, the cockatiel and the tortoise are trying their best to fill those shoes. That chihuahua and my big male cat…those 2 were really something special.
@@stevenanthony9353 lol probably back when my first flip phone could actually take video and that was the coolest thing ever! Loading up one video took hours lol
“She’s nine now…..” little dogs can live unbelievably long lives, compared to a traditional 10-year normal dog life span. My dad had a little Pomeranian that lived till 22-years old. We literally had to,show the birth certificate/papers to the new owner to prove his age. He outlived both my mom and dad. We gave him to a group that retires older small dogs with special needs (many of his senses had gone by then - sight and hearing) and he lived out his life another few years under excellent care. My 3-labradors would have trampled him, so he was in a better place. Anyway……my point is with proper care you could have another 10 years still with your Tina.
I love this video. When she said " she's 9 now, I wish I could slow down time, so I could love her longer." I felt it in my soul. Sunday night I lost my 18 yr old dog to cancer she was a Coy dog. It was the cancer not her age. Until last yr you wouldnt have even know she was that age. Its the 2nd that lived that long, but so many yrs with them, so while Im sad I still feel so blessed by her staying with me so long. I hope Tina lives a good many years, they are some of the cutest little dogs. We still have 4 of the 6 we adopted yrs ago and they are the funniest characters. Mine are all silly like that too. This video had perfect timing.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Boarder Collie when she was 12. She had the teeth of a 5 year old. She even fooled the vets. I'll never use that companies products again. I was crushed. It's literally losing a baby.
I never use to like chihuahuas until I actually had an experience with one when my friend adopted a bonded par! They have a reputation for being mean but you try being just slightly bigger than a teacup and living in a world built for giants! They are such characters and so sassy, and just absolutely loyal t their person. Never a dull moment!
I think the main problem is that many people including owners don't respect small dogs' personal space, and small dogs learn that the only way to keep people away is an exaggerated display of aggression. a lot of them wnd up doing it to anybody they don't know preemptively because it just becomes a habit.
That is a total myth, they are not mean at all, they are sweet, loving, happy dogs. They do resource guard food/toys, because bigger dogs take things away from them, so you simply have to train them to stop.
Tina is absolutely adorable - the cute Chihuahua soft eye "squint" is a sign of trust. Tina trusted and accepted you from the first meeting! Your beloved dog "sent" Tina to you to cheer you up! 💖🐶💖
Cats, and especially dogs, just don't live nearly long enough, but if I had a pet like a parrot, I would worry about someone looking after them after I'm gone.
The biggest doggie love of my life was a chihuahua named Pete. They totally consume you if you’re their person. Tina is a hoot! Live long, little Tina! ❤️
It really resonated with me when she said she "wished time would slow down"...it is so very hard to lose them when they make our lives so fulfilled. Tina is adorable
I've never been a fan of Chihuahuas but for THIS one I happily make an exception. The sounds she makes galloping across the floor! Her talking! Her obvious love for her human! Definitely an exceptional doggo!
Chihuahua's are not for everyone, they pick you not the other way around. It does not matter one bit what you think of Chihuahua's, if one picks you there is nothing you can do about it. I myself never dreamed I would have a Chihuahua, I liked big dogs and never gave small dogs a second thought. That was until a little Chihuahua named Maggie decided to make me hers. Now I can think of no other dog at all, only Maggie, and I'm alright with that.
OMG!! I love your dog!!!! I lost my dog 4 mos ago and I've finally decided that I want another dog, but they're so expensive and living on social security, I just can't aford the initial price. How lucky that you found each other in the way and at the time you needed each other the most!!! Have a great life together!!!!
Tina’s a TYPICAL chihuahua. Her “quirks” are exactly why I fell in love with Chihuahuas. People assume I got my dogs from breeders but that’s not the case. If you have a passion for a certain breed of dog, you can indulge via rescue. I adopted an 8 year old senior special needs chihuahua, sight unseen; I admit i was nervous that I might not bond with him as deeply as I have with younger dogs. The only difficulty I had was that I only had 8 years with him. I miss him every day even though I lost him years ago. I now have 2 elderly chihuahuas & I have two youngsters. All boys. They are my family.
I found my.sweet boy , Tyrion , while out for a run. The best 7 years of my.life. He had a heart murmur , which, unfortunately, forced me after 7 years and 2 days, I had to say goodbye as his sweet little heart could not keep up with his body. I miss him every day ...
Honestly this video made me fall in love with that breed, I’ll be checking the rescue centre in case they ever get one. Do they get a lot of health issues?
I lost my dog, Thor, 4 years ago... I had him for 16 years, and was devastated when he passed. My sisters got me a dog, and I can't help but feel guilty sometimes for loving her so much. This video has helped me tremendously. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story!
The best way to honor a pet that has passed is to give another one a chance at a good life. Sometimes it works out that way whether you plan it or not. My Baby Girl passed at 12 years old. The very next day a kitten with burned paws and an eye infection was found at my job, which is something because I work at diesel shop. We think she may have come in on one of the tractor trailers we care for in our fleet. Of course I took her home. She was going to get run over or eaten by a hawk or a snake at the shop. I named her Terra Belle after my Baby Girl. Baby Girl sounded like a baby pterodactyl when she meowed. Funny thing is Terra Belle kind of has Baby Girl’s take no prisoners attitude too. My dad affectionately refers to her as Terror instead of Terra Belle.
No guilt please. To give another pet a loving and caring home is an extraodinary way to honor your dog you just lost. You are not replacing them. You are paying forward all the unconditional love and attention your dog showered you with. You are paying it forward. Animals are pure love. You deserve it as you honor, respect and love animals. Thank you for your unconditional love to your new family member. Animals are not part of the family, they are the heart of the family.
Don't feel guilty. Think about your new dog, it's forever grateful for you and your old dog is probably proud of you in heaven thinking that you made it's life and, soon, another dog life better
Chihuahuas are excellent, they are one of the most ancient dog breeds, they are healthy, they live long lives, they are loyal. They get such a bad rap-- I think people don't understand them, they aren't toys, they have a wildness and need to feel secure, they are the most popular dog breed in shelters in CA. They deserve love and respect.
It's so hard losing a pet and that in-between stage, living in a pet-less home is so empty. They can't be replaced, but a new pet can make you smile again. These animals, they just steal our hearts! Loved this video so much!
True… cant remember a time living a house without a dog. Even living away from my family for grad school, i compensated the empty feeling by feeding some stray cats of our apartment 😅
@@mau345 Aw, that's really sweet. We feed the strays near our house too. We even took in a couple. Got them checked by the vet, and made sure they weren't chipped - so we knew no one else owned them. One is still with us, since 2016. The other lived a short life, he had FIV and brain cancer. Such a sweet cat too.
My grandmother had a chihuahua when I was a kid. I was like 7 years old and that dog was a total sweetheart. Not at all the snippy stereotype we are used to hearing about. He was such a gem!
Tina probably understood that both her and this new human were experiencing grief, it's well known that animals also deal with grief (if only in a different way) so I think it makes sense that she trusted so quickly.
GeoBeat Animals stories are all so entertaining and heartwarming to watch but I think this one is my favourite. Tina found a new soulmate with this lady.
I love the chihuahuas too! I also had a little guy that looked a lot like Tina. He passed away in the fall of 2018 😢 it was so heart breaking for me. I loved him so much, he was the best boy I could have ever had. I adopted him from the humane society in my area, we were so lucky to find him. He lived to be a very old man, I never knew his exact age, I miss him every day
I was laughing and crying at the same time. Dempsey has been my Velcro since he was 12 weeks old. He's a 3 yr old smooth coat chihuahua and he saved my life during the lockdown. It was just him and I and the bond is unspeakably special. Tina has such a zest for life ! Thank you sooo much for sharing your wee buddy with us. Love from Trish and Dempsey ( under the duvet ) in Edinburgh Scotland.💖🌈
Mine pulled me through the worst depression of my life when we unexpectedly lost my father on February 15th. My depression lasted 5 years. Best little cuddle bugs and tear lickers around. Highly sensitive and very loving.
My mother, 79 years old, lost her chihuahua few months ago due to a heart condition, 12 years old. She is so heartbroken. If you never had a dog you never can feel how much pain it does when they die on you. It hurts, really really bad.
It is very hard when you lose a dog. I lost a dog in March, I had her for 9 years . She was already a senior when I got her. I was holding her up to eat because she was in rough shape and she passed while I was holding her. I haven’t cried that hard for anything since my dad passed in 2009. My mom said something that helped me feel a little better about it she said “ at least she was with the one who loved her the most and took care of her the best and she wasn’t alone”
@@MaynardsSpaceship It's so hard. I'm sorry for you. But enjoy al the good things and love him/her as much as you can and live life to the fullest together, with no regrets. All the best!
I own a chihuahua myself and I will never stop owning them. They're so tiny, adorable and the most wholesome little babies in the world. People think they're monsters but they just don't know how wonderful they truly are.
Oh gosh, she is just so adorable, like a wind up squeaky toy. I love how tiny she is, yet with a giant heart 💜. You can put her in your pocket and take her everywhere. I rescued a Chi years ago, named him Timmy. That’s when I learned that the smaller the dog, the bigger the 💕 love. God bless them, they’re a perfect match..
Tina’s personality just jumps out of the screen! I have rescued a chihuahua too. He found me 8 yrs ago, and he was there when I had to euthanize my 2 retired working dogs, a shepherd and a Belgian Malinois. Jack got me through it. I wish he would live forever.
Love this❤. I too got a chihuahua that lost its family. He had his car seat, life jacket for the boat and got carried everywhere. He was with us for 15 years and it wasn’t long enough. He passed this year, and I miss him terribly, so I understand that you wish for time to slow. Cherish every minute.
I find it so cute that the two had lost someone, in a funny way they came together. I think people forget that dogs can feel things, remember, and feel pain. Perhaps Tina so attached because of this. Really such a nice story.
I fully believe dogs have a wisdom that goes far beyond human understanding. You're not replacing the pup you lost, you are opening your heart to a new baby. Beebs and Tina have it all worked out. :)
Tina is too much !! I love how animated, talky, and precious she is. She has all the quirky, fun traits in her and also is a great runner - - those short little legs moving so fast and tippy tappy to her Mama. Give Tina a hug, she is a special little bean !! And thank you for taking her in, she sure is glad !
When she said” I wish time could slow down so I could love her longer” That’s says it all …… the love is so sweet& the memories are so special. It’s so heartwarming to hear how she lost her beloved pet & wasn’t sure if she had room in her broken heart to start loving another but they grab your heart & there’s no Turing back❣️
Chihuahuas have actually always been used to cheer people up and provide companionship, many people have documented their depression greatly reduced once they got a Chihuahua. I am not even making this up though it sounds ridiculous. My Chihuahuas have kept me alive for the past 20 years, I would have committed suicide a long time ago but the thought of leaving them behind was reason enough to never do it. Now I am much older and in a better mental, physical and emotional space. Know whatever you are feeling does pass, depression does not have to be with you forever. I wish you the best on your life path and seriously, consider adopting a Chihuahua :)
I hope Tina loves as long as my chihuahua did so this lady CAN love Tina longer. I adopted my chihuahua when he was 13 years old ( maybe a little older), his age verified by the vet by his teeth. I got to love him for TEN years, until he was 23 years old. it is not unheard of for chis to live into their early to mid twenties, and I have known a few people who have had chihuahuas live into their mid 20s. Tina is still young! and I know she will live much longer with the love and care this lady gives her!
I wish time would slow down so I could love her longer. Hit home so hard. I couldn't of put it any better. The love you receive from a dog is uncomparable.❤
Lmao. I love them.
adorable as fuck 💜
that is so cute.
Your gonna wake up one day and have your index would be ripped off and blood would be pouring out because your 2 little Lucifers decided he was hungry, at least that’s how I’d imagine owning two chihuahuas.

I love videos like this where a small dog isn't being antagonized to the point of snapping! We need more of that!
Same here!
I hope I'm doing my sister proud.
hope you guys live a wonderful rest of your lives im sure your sister is proud..💕
You both loved your sister. That makes the bond even stronger.
That is such a kind thing for you to do❤
I'm in a similar situation as you. I had no idea what a good dog I was inheriting. He's about 12 years old and has adapted to so much yet has stayed just as sweet, so long as you aren't a little kid trying to pet him.
Thank you for doing that!!!
"I wish that time would slow down, so I could love her for longer" every dog owner knows exactly how that feels ♥️
Luckily Chihuahuas live a long time, my Chihuahua is 18 years old and still have a little more time in her. She is also in great condition health wise.

I love chihuahua so much!
If she really loved the dog to bits and wanted her around as long as possible she’d look after it properly, the dog is obviously overweight.
Really? I've never met anyone who considers a snarly and snappy dog to be cute. It doesn't even make sense.
🙌
I had lost my dog of almost 10 years June 6th 2020 and then February 2021, my family cat had also passed as he was almost 14 years old and had many underlying health problems and I was having a really hard time coping since I had basically grown up with them.
Yeah that made me cry that’s really sweet
@@nunyadb129 this story is so sweet. You had me in tears- ❤
Mine just died like a week ago and ya I stopped looking because I felt guilty
I used to “hate” chihuahuas but suddenly I started loving them so much, I can’t believe how blind I was, they’re so freaking funny 💘

An very spoiled, she thinks she's only cute thing in existence.

..this is the real reason why I can't own pets. I couldn't stand their deaths, but most of all, my pets wouldn't be able to stand my death.
Plus I most probably will live all alone. So.. I probably shouldn't have any, because when I die first, grief would quickly cease to be their biggest concern.

Man what an awesome story thank you my friend for sharing it with all of us...
@@Manas-co8wl You're next level considerate. Bless your heart.
I’m sorry, losing a dog feels like losing a family member, it’s not a wound which you recover easily
*virtual hugs*
I LOVE her comment that she wishes time would slow down so she could love her for longer. What a simple but beautiful statement ❤❤
👍♥♥♥♥ Magnifique
What an adorable little dog, thinking of adopting one, this video sealed the deal.
Made me 😢
Their biggest flaw is their short lifespan.
"Does the dog bite?"
"Worse, she judges you."
She must be half cat, lol!
tamest chihuahua ever seen
"I wished time would just slow down so I could love her for longer.". Such a sweet statement. I wish them a long, loving, fun life together. They both deserve it after their losses. Thank you for sharing.

I'm a cat person. I think we honor our pets we lose by helping another animal. Thank you for giving her a good home.
i feel like all my previous pets would be sad if i stopped loving more animals because i lost them. i had honestly considered never getting a cat after losing my cat Bob in a very tramuatic way but then suddenly a kitten gets dropped at my house and now i have 2 cats and if i move in with my partner we'll have 6 altogether lol.
You are so right.
I adore the way she runs to you, especially the sound of her little feet on the floor/carpet. Way too cute 🥰🙂🥰
This video is beautiful but it also made me cry because I lost my 15 year old Chihuahua last March. I miss him so so much. He was the love of my life
I'm so sorry for your lost. Sending you love ❤
❤❤❤
I know it still hurts. I just lost my little baby girl 1 month ago. She was 12 and my heart was broken. I knew the day would come and I also felt guilty because I'm looking into a rescue dog. I will never get another Chi because she is the only Chi I will ever have. But I knew she went to a good place and she's happy. If anybody is an animal lover, they have enough love to give to another pet. It will be different love, but they will be loved. ❤
@@julieincontro5473 I lost my beautiful little Chihuahua two years ago. She was also twelve. I think of her and miss her every day.
Sorry for your loss! I lost my 15yr old chi in December 💔😭
My Joey & Lily made it to 14 & 16 respectively…. me & my pittie Tank miss them tremendously!
I adopted a chiweenie (chihuahua dachshund mix) and he's silent too! It's crazy.
Mine is 2yrs now and she's pretty quiet too! The occasional "borf" and she can be vocal when playing, but otherwise not much at all.
I have a quiet one too. She only bark when the door bell rings.
"Was...?" Uh oh, I hate to ask.
Chihuahuas just have quirky weird personalities and that’s what I love about them.
Best little dog in the world. The zoomies, scoots, and unconditional love they give is priceless. I love my Spicy!!!
Idc care what you say every chihuahua is snippy and rude! Just in their own cute adorable way that's what makes them special! I love that abt them
I had a long haired chihuahua. He was the sweetest thing. I still miss him years later. Definitely the best pet I ever had.
Cutest thing ever. So happy that you found a new friend to love. Beebe is probably looking down on you and is happy that you found a new friend.
I always grew up with Jack Russel dogs so it is no surprise that my first dog is a Jack Russel terrier. I love him to bits
"Tiny house goblin" lol
They really are.
They are awesome!
I would have ranked them on low on my list. Then this one-eyed Tasmanian devil showed up and I wouldn't trade him for all the Xanax in the world.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost one of my chihuahuas about 1 to 2 years ago, I also wish time could have slowed down.
Just cherish every moment.

My Corgi is 13 and I say this too! It's not fair dogs live so short, can't we have a max of 25 years with them?
"I wish time would just slow down so I could love her for longer."

I used to not like chihuahuas at all until we got one. Brought him home and he had (and still does) have SOOO much personality. They kind of act like humans in a way sometimes. They’re really funny and definitely the boss. I love my little man! His name is Steve. Steven when he gets in trouble.
They’re a dumb dog breed for dumb people.
That's how small dogs are.... people think they are just yappy and annoying until they get to really spend time with one!
I suspect our old dog was part chihuahua, and I used to tell him he was half cat. 😆I get what you mean about them seeming human.

I used to dislike them too bc one chased me down and bit me but I can’t imagine my life without mine her name is April just turned 14
Wonderful story! So glad Tina was able to find a fabulous home after the loss of her owner. Match made in Heaven! 💕
"I wish time would slow down, so I could love her for longer"--how beautifully expressed. The joy of loving, the sadness of loving. Impossible not to fall in love with Tina.

My roommate’s chihuahua was like this. Her personality took over the whole house. Between her and my cat, they were the 2 biggest personalities in the house.
Agreed! My Chihuahua is 16 and going strong!
My Havanese is 17 and still plays Zoomies! The vet can’t believe how old she is!
Yup! We had a chihuahua that lived till 16. But she passed away. :(

When you call her to come, She sounds like she's barking" I'm here, I'm here" 😆 so cute! 💜
I never use to like chihuahuas until I actually had an experience with one when my friend adopted a bonded par! They have a reputation for being mean but you try being just slightly bigger than a teacup and living in a world built for giants! They are such characters and so sassy, and just absolutely loyal t their person. Never a dull moment!
i learned to love one too ❤
I think the main problem is that many people including owners don't respect small dogs' personal space, and small dogs learn that the only way to keep people away is an exaggerated display of aggression. a lot of them wnd up doing it to anybody they don't know preemptively because it just becomes a habit.
People stereotype them to much just like pitbulls
That is a total myth, they are not mean at all, they are sweet, loving, happy dogs. They do resource guard food/toys, because bigger dogs take things away from them, so you simply have to train them to stop.
Disgusting
You are so lucky to have gotten her. They maybe small, but their hearts are huge. Enjoy
Tina is absolutely adorable - the cute Chihuahua soft eye "squint" is a sign of trust. Tina trusted and accepted you from the first meeting! Your beloved dog "sent" Tina to you to cheer you up! 💖🐶💖

"Precious little imp." I Approve©. 👍😂
I adopted 2 chihuahuas and don’t tell my kids but it’s the best thing I ever did. Bless you both.
Yeah but they are really ugly
Honestly this video made me fall in love with that breed, I’ll be checking the rescue centre in case they ever get one. Do they get a lot of health issues?
Chihuahuas are Satan’s work
That opening couldn’t be any cuter. “Your breath stinks”.. “oh, erm, sorry”. Classically unique.
I lost my dog, Thor, 4 years ago... I had him for 16 years, and was devastated when he passed. My sisters got me a dog, and I can't help but feel guilty sometimes for loving her so much. This video has helped me tremendously. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story!
I also lost my 16 year old. His name was Harry , it's nearly been 2 years . I can't think about another dog at the moment. But maybe one day ....💜
The best way to honor a pet that has passed is to give another one a chance at a good life.
Think about your new dog, it's forever grateful for you and your old dog is probably proud of you in heaven thinking that you made it's life and, soon, another dog life better
ok..
I also think that they really only choose one person (lucky if two). So they can be feisty to other people.
It's so hard losing a pet and that in-between stage, living in a pet-less home is so empty. They can't be replaced, but a new pet can make you smile again. These animals, they just steal our hearts! Loved this video so much!
I agree with you.
All my pets have been rescues so I just see it as an opportunity to give a new generation a chance at a loving home rather than feel guilty

When she said” I wish time could slow down so I could love her longer”
That’s says it all …… the love is so sweet& the memories are so special. It’s so heartwarming to hear how she lost her beloved pet & wasn’t sure if she had room in her broken heart to start loving another but they grab your heart & there’s no Turing back❣️
Holy hell this whole video helped my depression, seriously, been struggling with it today real bad and yet this video still has me smiling
God loves you! Jesus is near.
Aww thank you guys I wasn't expecting replies this gave me a much needed smile 😊
Go get one 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Dude keep watching cute animal videos it will help.
I always say that the pet who passed on sent the grieving parent a new pet to love. Especially if they have, at least, a few of the same quirks. :o)
👍💯💯💯❤️🐶❤️
i believe that wholeheartedly
“I wish that time would just slow down so that I could love her for longer.”
•••Instant understanding and tears.
What a corky, cute personality! I wouldn’t stop laughing all day! She is adorable. Her sounds remind me of my rescued Pom.
I wish time would slow down so I could love her longer. Hit home so hard. I couldn't of put it any better. The love you receive from a dog is uncomparable.❤
She’s so adorable 🥰 I love her so much!
“ I wish time would slow down so I can love on her longer” Man that brought me to tears … ❤
