Here is another vid on soldiers.
The last one showed how to brace the face of the soldiers. This is the other method I use for doors and small window but have adapted for big lintels. It involved cutting a length of timber and wedging it in the opening directly under the lintel and in line with the front face. With big lintels propping it or clamping bricks either side ( like in the vid ) is necessary.
Bricks on big lintels will make it deflect causing the soldiers to fall forward. With the timber being set to the front it feels more like laying soldiers on a wall rather than overhanging a lintel. A finger trowel is good for pointing the joint under the bricks if your planning on leaving the timber in for a while . 👍👍
    Thanks for watching ! 😀👍

I used this today on engineering brick over a 2 meter opening. Took 10 seconds to set up. And even put a profile towards top of soilders👌

Brilliant! That’s great to hear. It’s an easy set up and defo makes soldiers easier. Profile at the top works great😀👍 especially if there is a gauge marked on 😊👌🏼👍

Its good mate 👍 for normal doors you can just cut a roof lat to the width of the door and wedge it in👍

Lol sound . Yeah, just a bit of roofing battern cut to the size of the opening for doors is ok. Just Wedged in so it’s to the face 👌🏼👌🏼😀

I saw a gang of lads use roofing lats under the windows and doors on a block of flats near me about 20 years ago. I’ve used the method ever since and adapted it for the big lintels. 🧱😀
