Thank you so much for your videos! If I'm using a black metallic dust (for a black drip), do I still need the clear vanilla extract or could I use regular? I was thinking the brown color wouldn't show through a black dust, but I could easily be wrong! Thanks!!
Hi, your drip videos was just what I needed! Thanks so much for that! I'm not sure if anyone has asked but I'm wondering whether I can store the unused drip. Is that possible and for how long? Thanks again!🙌🏾😊
I purchased silver dust in the pump 'bottle'. Would I be ok using that kind of dust? I would take the spray top off and measure out what I'd need. Trying for a metallic look.
Yes! Just don't add the powdered sugar, just add a bit of lemon extract to your lustre dust and you can paint with it. I haven't tried it on a ganache cake? But, I t would say yes. 🤗
This is genius, thank you for sharing this method! Going to try this on my birthday cake this weekend. Will it be an issue if my vanilla extract is brown? Would tequila be okay to use too?
I just used more icing sugar with the vanilla extract and it worked perfectly. Thanks! This is so much easier than chocolate then painting.
Yay! So glad! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I'm trying this today! Can't wait. 🥰💜
Thanks so much. I love it!! So much better than painting.
Glad you like it!
It looks so good. thank you for the tips on the different liquids. quick q, which one would be best to do on cream cheese icing?
I think any will work. But, Cream Cheese Frosting is not as stable, so I'm not sure how well it will work. Good luck!
Can you add gel food coloring into the lemon extract metallic drip
I don't recommend that, but you can definitely try it!
This looks fab, can’t wait to try it :)
Yay! Good luck!
You can do whip cream I do that 🥰

Hmmm...I've never tried black metallic drip, sounds awesome! I would think you could use normal vanilla extract! Try it! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I tried this with the vodka. It was nice. I think I will try the lemon extract next. Thank you.
Wonderful!

I don't think the drip will store very well, I would use it and then discard any extra. ✨
Noted. Thanks much!
Thanks for sharing. How do you avoid the drip from separating or running to bottom of the cake when taken out of the fridge?
It all depends on your drip consistency.
I purchased silver dust in the pump 'bottle'. Would I be ok using that kind of dust? I would take the spray top off and measure out what I'd need. Trying for a metallic look.
Go for it!
Thank you so much for the video. Do you think orange extract will work the same as lemon extract? Many thanks
Hmmm.. maybe? Let me know!
Hi does the lemony extract have traces of alcohol too or is it a lemon extract without alcohol
Yes, lemon extract does have traces of alcohol in it, that is what makes it shine. ✨✨
Wow..thank you..
You are so welcome!
Can we use this for making painting on the cake??
And also can we use this on chocolate ganache frosted cake
Yes! Just don't add the powdered sugar, just add a bit of lemon extract to your lustre dust and you can paint with it. I haven't tried it on a ganache cake? But, I t would say yes. 🤗
Can I use this method on a ganache cake as well?
I'm not sure if that would work, it needs to be a more stable consistency. 💕
Even with a thicker consistency, mine continued to run when I let it sit. I used vodka. Any ideas?
Vodka tends to be a bit more runny, just add more powder sugar until you get a thicker consistency.
Thankyou so much mam. This really workss
Most welcome!! 😊
This is genius, thank you for sharing this method! Going to try this on my birthday cake this weekend. Will it be an issue if my vanilla extract is brown? Would tequila be okay to use too?
Yay! You need clear vanilla extract, I'm sure tequila will work!
For the silver drip can I use the clear vanilla extract instead of the lemon extract is there gonna be a difference if I use either one ?
Yes, you can use vanilla extract. I definitely like the consistency of the lemon extract better, but you can use either.
Hi can I use Barcardi white rum instead of lemon extract?
I'm sure that will work!
How about almond extract?? have you tried it??
I haven't! But, I definitely want to try it with almond extract!
Lemon extract = fresh lemon squeeze ??
Unfortunately, no. It has to have some sort of alcohol in it, in order to make it shine! ✨
Hi, can I use the metalic highlighter powder on white chocolate?
Unfortunately, it will seize up your chocolate.
THANK YOU!
You're welcome!
Wonder what it lemon extract drip tastes like. Can you describe if for me? Would it be too sour? Thanks 😊
It doesn't really have a a taste, you're really not putting too much on the cake either. 🥰
Chaleese Leishman Thanks! More power! :)

You're welcome! ✨
Evaporex will work in place of lemon or vanilla extract?😍
Yes I believe it will! ✨
Is highlight powder the same a luster dust? Can you use either?
Lustre Dust is edible. Some highlighters are not. Roxy and Rich has 100% edible lustre dust.
Nice info
Thanks!
Can i use this drip on boiled icing? Thanks
Yes, as long as it's a pretty stable buttercream.
Can you use sugarflair gold lustre dust
Yes!
Can you refrigerate the cake afterwards without separating?
Yes!
Does this only work for edge drips or can the whole top of the cake be covered with it? Thanks!
You can do both the edge and the top, you just have to make more, as the recipe doesn't make a ton at a time. ✨✨✨
Can a fresh lemon be used as well?
Yes, but the consistency is a little different.
Heyyy, can i use almond extract also??
Yes!
Is extract same as essence? Can we use any available essence to make the drip?
Essence doesn't have alcohol in it, for this drip you need the extract with the alcohol in it. 💕
@@chaleesebakescakes I guess one may as well use the vodka and be done with the alcohol 😉
Thank you so much for clarifying ❤️
Does it have to be vodka or can we use a spirit like gin instead as i dont have vodka? x
As long as there is alcohol in it, it should work! ✨
@@chaleesebakescakes thank you x

Can i add this drip on a baked cheese cake?
I'm not sure?! Let me know! 😃
Instead of using this as a drip could I use it as a paint?
Heck yes! 😃
Just don't add the powdered sugar, and it will be easier to paint with!
How many ml of lemon extract do you think would be needed to go all around the cake?
I would make 2 or 3 batches!
How will it effect the drip if i use vodka and add a bit more icing sugar to the mix?
Try it, it just depends on the consistency that you want!
Will lemon juice work???
It needs to have some kind of alcohol to it. That is what makes it shine! ✨
can i use red wine instead of vodka? for rose gold drip?
Oooh, I'm not sure, that sounds really intriguing, let me know if you try it! 😃
