- Hello everyone and welcome back to my blind playthrough of Subnautica! Today we tie up a bunch of loose ends from previous episodes, venture dangerously close to the edge of the map, and then somehow? manage to build a Cyclops??

As always guys, no spoilers please! Enjoy the video! I think this may be one of the funniest episodes yet 😆
If you like survival games like This, I love❤️ 'Pacific Drive', where you drive and repair a station wagon in a scary world!, kind of like this Idk if I've ask you this one!
Thank you for your videos! I love this game. Tree cove is my favourite biom. So chill and pretty. May be you should go look at it some more.
I love this game. I have 128 hours play time in the game. Plus I only play this in VR.
What they are talking about with the power is that each individual module has its own capacitor / battery / energy storage. In other words, 2x solar panels will not only give you faster charge, but more of it (which will last longer at night). At least I *think* that's what they're trying to say.
Color For the Parwn suit! I think camouflage colors wuold make it look awesome with the upgrades! But any colors will do!!
The stalker going strait for the cameras was so funny
When he said he was going to release them outside, I was like "Oh, No."
@@Whateverhasbeenmynameforyears watch Marz playthrough. She had a pet stalker called "toothless" and they had her base covered in metal scrap and stalker teeth, she just used it for bioreactor fuel.
@@Hobodeluxe960 oh yeah. I have run into her through Gab but she would probably be a good one to seek out to watch.
@@Hobodeluxe960 I remember this. I believe they even caused damage to the observation dome due to banging it with the metal or something? It did flood the base partially for sure.
The window in the Disease Research Facility was hilarious
One thing I like to do when exploring a wreck is to put an exterior growbed on top and put a creepvine seed in it. The creepvine is extremely bright so you can see if you have been there day or night from a long way away.
Interesting idea
Clever!
That's brilliant! Quite literally! 😆
Another option to cheaply mark explored wrecks that I use is to just build a simple I Compartment as tall as possible out front of the wreck, costs only 2 titanium which is easy to find if not already on you.
I use grow beds with the Creepvine seed cluster lights and a Brain Coral or two to make “safe breathing” pit stops, daisy chained between all bases and important locations, all within one tank of air and a seaglides distance away from each other.
Can traverse the entire map without needing the Seamoth or ever surfacing.
That's genius, gotta start doing that
I'm not gonna backseat. But in your aquarium, REDACTED. And about the adult ghost leviathans, REDACTED. And ESPECIALLY don't forget to REDACTED!
😂 perfect!
Where to find the cyclops is in REDACTED and also in the REDACTED biome.
if only there was some game mechanic where information was gathered and available at your fingertip,
The bioreactor is the ultimate aquarium. 🧠
😱😱
@@LukaelPlays Everytime you pick up the cuddlefish and goes towards the bioreactor (I know it was the only way) my heart skips a beat
@@JessBonomo I would never!!
@@LukaelPlays Feel the power of the dark side.
Name the Stalker "Toothpick".
Because he picks on everyone (and everything) and has big teeth.
the cuddlefish in the storage causes me heart pain...
Mine followed all the way to the end of the game. Can't tell you how many times I ran into it in the Cyclops. lol. I felt so bad.
@@jupiterthree5228 Good thing the devs gave those buggers a ton of health
Why does it matter? If he doesn’t know, he doesn’t have to take it outside
51:38 - Yeah! Another example was you yeeting the poisonous cave plants with the propulsion/repulsion cannon. I feel so stupid for never even thinking of trying that. What a big brain move. I've never seen anyone try that, across maybe a dozen playthroughs.
🧠
It's quite random which ones you can actually pick up with it unfortunately...
I hope he releases the cuddlefish into the wild before the series ends so we can see his reaction 👀
A fun idea after your end game might be a viewer suggestion stream. Something where people can direct you to some things you may have missed while playing but that you would enjoy seeing.
Never done a stream here before, that could be fun!
@@LukaelPlaysstreams on TH-cam are much simpler than Twitch. 😂
I had a good laugh when you fell through the open window at the disease facility and I love that you sat and watched the eggs hatch, I've never seen anyone else do that! Also, as a fellow diver, I like to think the character walks/runs so heavily because the tanks they're lugging around are so goddamn heavy on land hahaha
Your stalker son gives off Kyle vibes, no offence to any Kyles out there 😅
"I want to scan it!" ...that's the spirit! 😀
"It's pretty clear I need to find this volcanic region."
So close...
well he knows it's deeper and he saw where he can go deeper so maybe he makes the connection.
Tremendious progress. found the blue brine, nickel, the ghost tree and at least one way that seemed to go deeper down. You got the info on a lava cave , the sea emperor and a facility down there.
The thing with the window in the research facilty happened to me, and others too. Real sneaky to have glass there once you see it first, but not at the second window. Finding that wreck at the end was fantastic. You also seem to be really in the mood of "just 5 minutes more", which means you are hooked to the game. If you get more arms for your prawn suit, and dept modules, you can see how usefull it is. To bad we have to wait a week to see the next part. Happy swimming.
I think it depends on the monitor and its color settings as well as room lighting. I can clearly see the glass is broken on mine, but then my monitor is calibrated. Harder to notice in the video though.
Subnautica brought me here and I am sticking around. Just got caught up on the Subnautica series and started watching your Elden Ring series in between uploads. I have watched a lot of Subnautica playthroughs and unfortunately they all have back seat gaming and spoiler comments. I like watching you find stuff out for yourself which is the whole point. The pace is great and we are just along for the ride. Looking forward to more play throughs.
Thank you! 💙
Stalker name proposal: Stealy Dan

Such a nice guy letting those sharks live near the base, most people dump them into the bioreactor. Yes, farming is overpowered, that's probably why you had 400 comments on it lol
I'm built different! (kind)
The stalker and the sandshark both will do their own stuff AND will protect your base if you put your base in a dangerous area. Thats why he stole your camera, but he will never attack you or your base
16:20 yup, i knew but didn't wanna say anything. Glad you took that moment to realize it though. You can pin up to 6 recipes. You have to harvest most plants the same way you do with the bulbo tree and plant them through their seed. So cut that gel sack
Just when i thought my day was gonna end on a bad note, Captain Lukael drops a subnautica video, and I can once again smile :3
Sorry to hear you're having a bad day friend! hope it gets better from here
Regarding the glass window in the facility, there actually is glass but its cracked around the ridges which made it hard to see XD
The facility crashed down upon impact and nearby you found the sea dragon remains which had head trauma from impact as well, indicating that the sea dragon rammed into the facility destroying it and swam a little far off and died! Enjoying your playthrough so far, always awaiting a new episode :)
1:42:10 the way Ryley's hand is shaking as you fix the seamoth, he didn't like that encounter either, lmao
I vote red for the prawn suit! Nice and bright. Badass. And you get to name it something fun like Hot Cheeto or Lobster Man
Love that! 🤣
I vote Larry the Lobster for the prawn suit’s name
@@lewiff "lobbo the lobster" brought to you by XXXX?

@@LukaelPlayswill you be taking a break from subnautica when you complete the first one
Probably, yeah! might play one or two games in between
@@LukaelPlays It has a lot more fun toys/building objects to play with :]
"This is why people backseat you Luk" 😂To be honest it's not easy to resist backseating, there's a lot of info to keep track of and it's easy to forget/misunderstand some of it. In Outer Wilds backseating and spoiling are pretty much the same thing, but with Subnautica it's usually more about people trying to help you making the most out of your first playthrough. If I hadn't played Subnautica a second time, I would have missed quite a few things. Knowing which materials and tools were a priority (among other things) allowed me to go much quicker the second time around, and I learned things I had completely missed on my first run (for how focused I was on survival and staying "safe" when there was no need to).
Oh I understand that people are just trying to help, but I much prefer figuring stuff out on my own, even if it means my first playthrough isn't as smooth and I make things harder on myself 😆 thankfully there was a lot less backseating in the Outer Wilds one (though there was still a bit of it)
Nice, you got the cyclops. 🙂 It is a hefty boy, but surprisingly nice home away from home. I never leave my base without it (at least on the latter part of the game.)
Also: Finding scary things and your first thought is that you should've scanned them. You and this game truly belong together. 😁
I like how the submarine uses 6 Powercells:
. You start with 3 "free" ones in the Lifepod.
. You get the 4th when you build the Seamoth. |
. Building the Prawl gives you the 5th & 6th.
|
. To be "safe", you have to take them all with you (if going somewhere took all the "original" power of the Cyclops, then you need the same ammount to return.
-> Assume you get "lost" in a laberynth of lava tubes of the dormant "supervolcano" that makes the 2km × 2 km "crater" were the enture game happens.
1:16:01 With some upgrades and driving skills it's easily the fastest vehicle 😉
also also, it's a nice movable base for when you can't keep getting back to the surface base all the time ^^ very handy
Something you might wanna know about the bioreactor: (Only show more if you want to know)
...
...
The mushrooms are pretty bad at fueling it. I have observed when I played that random fish last dozens of times more than the shrooms.
I have a better bio reactor mod, which shows how much energy each item has. Turns out not all fish are the same :^/
It says in its entry that it is based on calorie content. :)
I've been using gelsacks. those seem to last for a good while plus I have a outdoor grow bed full of them so I always have plenty at hand
@@Whateverhasbeenmynameforyears So a juicy hamburger should be best.
And playing Dr Who music over the portal… yeah man you’re getting a sub!
"I noticed that using the sonar uses a lot of power so I'm going to try to not use the sonar so much"
proceeds to use the sonar every 4 seconds the entire time he's in the seamoth.
Which is less than using it every 2 seconds. :D
love the grappling arm, fastest way to travel unda da sea
crush depth of a vehicle is visible when you pilot the vehicle. That is all I will say about that.
The PRAWN can actually be the fastest vehicle in the game. How though... I will not reveal. And I'd love to see you try to scan that big ghost.
Name them Spike and Fluffy.
Oh man. Ive been waiting for this video. Love waking up on fridays and seeing a new subnautica video. Time for a shower, breakfast, and coffee before watching 😁
I'm like you, I make it a big' ol thing on Fridays, since Lukael started playing Subnautica.
Lol I'm sorry if I have backseated!

One of the things I struggle with in Subnaudica is that I am too predictable and end up following the same paths over and over when trying to find new things. I think you might have a similar trouble. :)
😅
I just finished my "first" playthrough of Subnautica. It only took 2 years, 110 hours, and 4 new saves for me to actually get up the nerve to finish it. Lol. This game is just fantastic. It does horror so well.. for people with a phobia, anyway. I can't wait for Subnautica 2.
110 hours for your first playthrough? 😱
@@LukaelPlays It's a bit on the high end. I suspect that's including the multiple attempts. I spent about 90 hours in my first playthrough, which included exploring pretty much every corner of the map. Nowadays, a playthrough takes about 25 hours for me.
@@LukaelPlays Technically, yeah. I was too scared to ever finish it. Always quit the game when I got the Cyclops and kept making new characters (instead of using the original) in between months of taking a break. I took 4 breaks from the game, 4 new characters. Finally got the guts to finish it.
I think the light Paul saw was probably a warper. He even kind of hints at it when he says that "something surely has the scent of my blood."

Don't think I've farmed in any playthrough. You use so few special chemicals that you can grab all you need on one run. Maybe if you build a base somewhere where there is not plant life around, but I just use nuclear power for that. Fish are everywhere for food. But that is one of the game's strong points: not everyone is forced to play the same way. Subnautica is a rare example of where I prefer to be inefficient, to stretch gameplay time.
You can repair while in the moonpool, point the tool at the... spot where the upgrades get slotted in. :)
That blank PDA is bugged in my game, too.
There's a lot of stuff with the Cyclops that the game does not tell you about. Do not be frustrated if it takes you quite a bit of practice to learn how to pilot it effectively, to see what you are doing without crashing into things.
Congrats on finding the pieces this episode
I feel you! I'm also doing a lot of things in a less efficient way, just because I like doing it! (this makes some people very upset lmao)
@@LukaelPlays I must admit, for the first two episodes I was trying so hard not to tell you to try hitting things with a knife to see what happens. Once I started watching your other series, I realized, "Oh, this guy's been playing games as long as me. And is more clever than me when it comes to puzzles. He will figure everything out." And you have.
Only thing I hate about watching streams, and why I would never produce content, is that backseaters are so annoying. It's insulting to assume that a player doesn't understand basic game mechanics that are common across genres. Especially when every video you say right away for people to keep their mouth shut. 😆
Some people want to be helpful and interact with the player. But there's always that group of control freaks who get big mad when you don't do things exactly the same way and the same order they do. Can't stand it. I even avoid commenting on youtube because these people that want to stir up shit. Fortunately does not happen too much here.
I allways call mine " Optmis Prawn "
That's pretty good!
The stalker should be Stewie and the sand shark Meg.

stalker and sandshark looks like a German shepherd and a bulldog
I'm replaying it now while I watch you..one of my favorite survival games.
All your pets won't attack you, but they still normally hunt and stuff.
I guess you could try farming in the alien containment unit (I just used indoor and outdoor growbeds for that), but what I personally found neat about placing plants in the containment units was the ability to create little micro-biomes to match the creatures in each unit. You know, make it feel like home for them. Putting all the different species together with plants not from their natural habitat feels a bit "mad scientist" to me. "Hmm, rabbit rays and jellyrays would not naturally encounter one another ... I wonder how they would interact when placed together!".
I guess you could answer the most important question: "Which species would win in a cage match?" 😂
I think you'll be surprised where you can fit the Cyclops. The perspective of the game often makes things appear a lot smaller than they actually are, and that includes the caverns/caves. When it feels like the Seamoth is slower, it's actually because you are moving through a larger space than you perceive, giving the illusion of slowing down. Apparently the Subnautica VR is really quite an experience because it changes the perspective to closer match the scale they intended 😱
Oh yes, looking for Cyclops fragments... never gets old 😛You really hit the jackpot with this particular wreck.
Don't call yourself "stupid", I was totally surprised when I learned one can enter the artificial habitat. And you got some ideas many people missed - for example, most believe propulsion cannon to be quite useless, but you made a pretty good use of it.
Some things, like gardening, are pretty useful at this stage (less time used for foraging and gathering some of resources means more time for exploration... there are MANY things you can grow yourself; just think of Degasi people).
On the subject of progress - personally I watch playthroughs as a background for my work (screen in screen type of background) and when you think you don't make lots of progress you're just keeping me company and make me feel so much more entertained by my routine without being extremely distracting. Also I hate when a long series ends and I have to let it go, so if I may, for my own sake I ask you to make as little progress as possible so I could enjoy you discovering subnautica kinda forever.
Best wishes, I love this playthrough, big thanks
So I finished this episode and too much progress, too much progress 😔
Ahahah I'm afraid you're getting closer to the end of the series but, plenty of other videos past and future on the channel if you so wish 😄 happy to keep you company, I watch other people while working too!
I have watched a lot of playthroughs, and this is the first time I have seen someone pick up two of the same PDA.... I didn't even know that was possible.

The Cyclops is not really needed for the game and you can use the prawn suit but it means you have to constantly return to home base, the cyclops is is good to have as you can use it as a mobile base with sleep / food production and fabricator facility's, so you can start to go deeper and deeper without the need to constantly return home, Just be sure to bring backup power cells .
The prawn suit needs to be named Optimus Prawn.
51:32 Sadly, I found this game during very early access. Way back when the Acid Mushroom was still edible as a viable food source, heh.
Because of that, i learned about things via patch notes, screenshots, and very janky early builds. It left the discovery very shallow and "that's neat". But, it did allow me to learn a lot more lore and functional gameplay details that newer players will never know.
That's why I love plays. I get to live vicariously through others, heh.
Aah that's a bit of a shame! always the danger when discovering games very early in development
Did you know if you enter the water you can swim (Love the videos by the way)
For the window thing I would have been SOOO stumped there too. Luckily I wondered if I could just break the glass with my knife. Went up there, swung, hit nothing, and then was like 'Oh. Glass comes pre-busted for my convenience.' XD
Echoing the comments that say to take your time! It all ends too soon, no matter how fast or slow one goes, so enjoy every minute. :)
Prawn suit name: cocktail sauce
If you want to be heartless, but efficient, you can put the BlastFish in the BioReactor...
Did you know boots go on feet?
Wouldn't you prefer I discover that for myself??
The compulsive need for backsseating is intriguing and infuriating LOL. Let people have their own experience!
Honestly, that wreck at the end is probably one of the spookiest places to me. The ambient sound, the sheer emptiness...
So I always keep a giant aquarium (like 8 levels tall) with every species, and I keep breeding pairs set away in lockers of every species haha. So yes, I genuinely have watched eggs hatch in this game. A few times haha. Once you finish the game, if you do any extra stuff, there's actually a console command that allows you to get eggs for two species that you normally can't hatch. I'll tell you what the commands are if you ever do a post-game episode.
Thank you so much for 15:47 😂 I did the EXACT same thing.
15:49 Waheeey finally got there! hahaha
23:45 As you've commented on before, one of the motifs of the game is symbiosis. Almost every creature entry has some reference to a symbiotic relationship
I know it might take a bit of time but you should consider doing a supercut with story and progression highlights, discoveries and jump scares once you're done
I've considered it, but this is a long series and it would be extremely time consuming! Maybe someday
I love this game so much. I hope I didn't accendentally back seat. Mostly, I just love the level of freedom, you get with this game.
Let's name the stalker Quad Eyed Willie!!

The Doctor Who edits where hilarious.
2:03:47 Cyclops spoiler.
When, and if, he discovers the habitat builder can build a bunch of stuff in the Cyclops as well.
really appreciate that you take your time carefully inspecting inside your new cyclops for all the hints about what you need to be aware of when piloting it in the future, it makes watching you play a lot more fulfilling. i liked all your theories with what you think is going to happen when you drive it after you noticed all the buttons at your helm's interface. especially with the noise meter.... hehe...
lithium is all around. not just that island, the jellyshroom cave, mushroom forest are great for it. just scan for shale deposits
When I see your rebellious sons, I think of Sid from Toy Story.
There's a really high quality user mod for Subnautica called Call of the Void that allows you to explore the bottom of the infinite void. I haven't played it myself, but the amount of effort that's gone into it is really evident just by looking at it.
Don't look up any reviews/previews for it that aren't from the creators. There are a lot of spoilers that will really ruin a playthrough.
Never heard about the mod, but there were youtubers that build a habitat on the edge and expanded it as far as possible to make a leviathan observation station.
Cool view to see 10 ghost leviathans around you.
I put off building a base for way too long when I played. I just used a scanner room with a hallway attached for storage. When I finally decided to build a proper one with a moonpool, alien containment room, thermal power, an entire room for storage with everything organized and labeled, decorations, I went all out. About 30 minutes after I was done I found this area 22:25 and ended up tearing it all apart to rebuild there. so much wasted time.
Agghhhh that sucks lmao kinda why I was hesitant to build anywhere
Another great episode. You CAN repair the seamoth while it's docked but it is a huge pain in the butt to find the exact spot to point your repair tool. You're doing it the easiest way.
"Oz" is the shortened version of "fluid ounces" which is the dumb way we Americans measure liquid volume. Of course, not to be confused with "ounces" where we measure weight instead of grams. 1 fluid ounce is about 29.5 ml.
Most people do build two moon pools, but there's no requirement to do so. You have also already acquired fragments for a thing you could also use to charge your prawn suit.
The grow beds are awesome, keep it up.
Don’t know if it counts as a spoiler or a tip/helpful hint, but all aliens in containment are docile to one another I believe.
I saw people talking about Subnautica below zero, its just a suggestion, please when you finished Subnautica, replay it with mods, i wont name it yet , but its way more interesting than you might think , also great episode
Prawn Suit name: 'Ocean Toad'. Make it a green color.
24:33 If you want to build a base in a deep biome the cove tree is a good place to do it. Nice scenery, very good access to resources, and just shallow enough for the Seamoth to access it.
The only _gameplay_ benefit is if you build a scanner room -- with 4x range upgrades it can find a lot of resources of almost all types, although many of them will be in the form of "Large Deposits" that require a properly equipped PRAWN to extract.
1:41:36 Press _and hold_ to charge up the defense system. This dramatically increases the area of effect.
Cyclops is a nice thing to have. Too bad it's impossible to install nuclear reactor inside.
I'd name them both LUKAEL!!!! 😂
Maybe lukael Jr and lukael lll if you insist.
gotta use a good name - how about:
Scut Farkus, a neighborhood bully, is the main antagonist in the 1983 Christmas movie A Christmas Story, tormenting young Ralphie Parker
20:09 - you probably forgot this since the previous recording session, the alien facility there gave you an info card that said it has collapsed to the cave floor after colliding with a leviathan. I would guess this is that leviathan, because the facility was studying stolen eggs, and they specifically included the bit about the leviathan being in the egg laying stage (why would they say that?)
This is just cool flavor text, and I don't think you'll ever come back and go over all of this again, so hopefully this is fine to share. Will I pass the mod vibe check?
Are you.... implying I have a poor memory??? You should know I remember 100% of what I read, always.
...Okay yeah now that you mention it that's clearly exactly what they wanted us to gather from that text. Pretty cool!
@@LukaelPlays Oh yeah, me too, 100%. Anyway, I sat through the whole egg hatching montage racking my brain, trying to get the reference to Outer Wilds, and I still can't remember it. Sea treaders again! Still my favorites.
You could always save and then take a trip into the void if you were curious.
Pretty sure that ghost leviathan was still a juvenile, just a bigger one. I'm not brave enough to scan it to confirm that theory, though.
A warper saved my life by grabbing me through a wall once. Got horribly turned around in a wreck and was about to drown, got pulled outside in time to swim back to my seamoth. Sometimes they're kinda great!
The cyclops is useful but driving it can be... challenging, let's say.
I love how observant you can be; so many people don't figure out the damage indicator in the cyclops.
Your stalker son is a delight.
I am so sad that I cannot taste a bulbo tree. They look delicious.
The cyclops fits in places it seems like it shouldn't. Good luck with that. I definitely did not get it wedged between two rock walls and have to reload once.

No pressure of course, I like your pace, but consider watching a speedrun after finishing the game; you will be amazed by the strategies speedrunners adopt to quickly beat the game.
I'd be curious to see it!
