1:22:47 The first number is the number of people assigned to this section, i.e. 14 people “belong in” the Crew Quarters, even if they might currently be elsewhere on the station. The parenthetical number is how many you still haven’t personally found, so here you still haven’t found 11 of Crew Quarters personel. Sort of like the email tab that shows number of emails in total and the unread number in parentheses.

I should add: “Found” includes finding their bodies; it’s got nothing to do with whether people are alive or not

  • @ferchrissakes

1:17:20 As far as I know, it can be pretty random who lives and who dies. Especially in that room, since it has flames shooting out from gas pipes, and mind-controlled humans will just walk into it by themselves sometimes, even if you’re not around. Some head-popped bodies are of course placed as part of the level design; can’t remember if that the case for that particular one or not though. Regardless, whether it’s here or back at the greenhouse, I’ve managed to kill Telepaths without ever being seen by”its” humans, yet still some - head intact! - are labeled as dead instead of unconscious afterward… it’s weird

1:04:00 By far my biggest gripe with this game is how outright bad it can be at presenting information - just at a mechanical level. I’ve played it multiple times - I do like it - but sheesh. The sometimes-multiple transcribes is one really weird thing, but when you’re listening to one and an operator flies by and talks over it, and then a station announcement talks over that, and an NPC talks over all three, and you’re trying to at least read subtitles but they say “Phantom: (breathing)” because there’s one in the next room over… that’s just piss poor design. I don’t know why they were so enamored with BioShock’s audiologs, since they had the exact same issues of audiologs almost requiring you to stand still and listen, except here it’s worse, since even if you stand still and just loot while listening, you might pick up other stuff that interrupts things, like notes that just pause the whole game. The game has long stretches of exploration, which is great, but then it suddenly gives you three audiologs, several notes, and a half dozen emails within a square meter. And when you read one it causes January to call you. I tend to tune out, and just see what objectives end up getting updated. For all its good parts, they really messed up information delivery.

Although I haven't played many of these games, it was fun seeing your ranking and reasons why. Makes me want to rank my yearly games from now on 😅 I didn't complete as many games this year as usual due to some longer games and falling into a bit of obsession with Fallout 76 (somehow at 1300+ hours, yeesh), but mine are below in the order I played them in... 1) The Wild At Heart - very cute chill game with a touching story 2) Inscryption - my 4th time 100% the game as it's one of my all time favorites, enough said 3) Deliver Us Mars - narrative driven sequel, pretty good 4) Monster Hunter Rise & Sunbreak- amazing with a friend, loads of content 5) Cloudpunk - indie with a very cool art style and soundtrack. Gameplay itself isn't great, but still enjoyed 6) Fallout 76 - good on its own, great with friends. Pretty sweet community compared to other online games 7) No Man's Sky - beautiful with an intriguing story if you dig. Feels shallow next to a game like Subnautica (just can't match a carefully curated world & creatures that make sense) 8) Remnant 2 - very fun with a friend, interesting worlds/story, ending left a bit to be desired for me 9) Dead Island 2 - again very fun with a friend, looks and feels great 10) LISA: The Painful Definitive Edition - my GOTY, fun, funny, heartbreaking, absurd, all with an amazing chaotic soundtrack I haven't been able to put down since 11) LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga - good chill fun with a friend, no lack of content Just started Tunic myself, I've avoided your playthrough and all other content related to it so I can have a blind experience, it seems to be my kind of game so far so looking forward to experiencing it fully, and then finally being able to experience it through other people here on YT haha. May 2025 be another great year of gaming for us all ❤

Algorithm got me because I was starting my own playthrough of this game, and just finished watching a Stanley Parable LP, so they picked the perfect man for the job! Loving your perspective already, and the Arkane hype is great to see. (People still associate Arkane Austin with Redfall, and like most these days, can't have anything good if it's tied to a single bad thing).

Pretty much agree with everything you said about Star Wars movies. For most of my life, Empire was the favorite, but then as I got older I preferred Jedi, just because of Anakin' redemption and everything related to it. Also the last fleet battle in RotJ reminds me of the similar fight in Rogue Squadron 2, which was my favorite gamecube title. Dark City was tight. Blazing Saddles is my favorite Brooks movie. "I don't care if it's the first act of Henry the Fifth, we're leavin'!" I think a lot of the comedies I personally rate highly were things I watched when I was in my young 20s. Nowadays the humor falls a little flat for me, but I love it for nostalgia reasons if nothing else. Seen Contact a couple times, but it is the only Sagan book I don't have and haven't read yet. Cosmos was a big deal for me as a young teen, and the guy might be one of my few personal heroes Never been able to get through a Jane Austen book, so that put me off from trying to watch any of the movies, even famous ones like Pride & Prejudice. The writing is just not believable "Is this your homework Lukael?" Haven't seen the second Dune movie. First one was ok, but drug on for so long that I don't want to do it again. Also, Frank Herbert might be my favorite Sci Fi author, so I already had mental images of how things should be, from when I first read the books as a kid. Probably will watch it someday, but I have low expectations. Usually movies are not as a good as the books they are adapted from ya know. For the same reason, Hitchhiker's is one of those movies I don't want to watch, because I loved the books so much. Just from the small amount of previews I have seen, nothing looks anything like how I pictured it while reading, and I don't want to ruin it by replacing those images I like the silly weird thing that Wes Anderson and Coen Brothers films typically do. William Macy is excellent Always been more of a bookworm than movie watcher. If I were making a list, it would be based on rewatchability, or personal reasons like your Exceptional category. I have friends who went to film school, so I know how to dissect movies, but I don't like to. Just experience it for what it is. So I would not say I am fit to rate anything, or argue why something is good or bad. I think I have watched two movies in 2024. Do not remember what they were, other than sequels or remakes of older movies, and that I would rate them as "Meh". Meaning, didn't feel like I wasted my time, but would not watch again. Too lazy to look for a duck emote :p I wrote down some of the movies you went over for me to watch later. Dunno when/if it'll happen, since movies are so rare for me. I haven't had a streaming service since maybe 2015

1:49:13 if you think you’re missing out on finding crew members, remember that you can track them via a security station computer. Everyone’s listed there, and you can click a name to set an objective marker. Only trick is that the list is divided by where they’re _supposed_ to be, so someone from, say, Psychotronics might be in the lobby and vice-versa. It’ll say where they are next to their name, but if you really want to clear out the area you’re in (and I’m not saying you have to, you decide), you’ll have to check each section’s list for people who might be where you are. Thankfully you can sort the lists by location by clicking the heading.

That's a good idea to take a few notes of each movie you watched. I end up forgetting a lot of what I watched within a year. I have not heard of a few of your top ones, but will definitely check them out. I might just go down your Exceptional tier whenever I don't know what to watch. Love Interstellar and Get Out. You've also inspired me to do a rewatch of Interstellar. Pleasantly surprised to see Only Yesterday. I had it on DVD growing up and it didn't make that much sense when I watched it as a really young kid, but was somehow still entertaining (especially the kid scenes). And yeah, I really wanted to move to a farm. Watching it as an adult made me appreciate and relate to it a lot more. Nostalgic and introspective is the perfect way to put it. Happy New Years!🦆

No country for old men train, wooo. Great movie and didn't need music, sitting in the moment was enough to tell you all you needed to know. While music certainly elevates scenes, i like the odd pearl of a great story and letting the audience live in it with the raw moments. If i may suggest somethings to watch and yes i went and looked to see if you reacted to them on this channel(not sure if you have another, feel free to post it in the bio if so). The Thing(1982) is another cult classic. Terminator 1&2, much like Alien and Aliens both are good for what they go for in their own flavors between horror and action. I'll keep it short with those

You could use the various movie or game sites such as imdb and mobygames and then download your user data once you're done listing everything? I've done that since 2004 but have only limited use for it these days as I no longer watch movies and if I do it's when someone asks me to during the winter holidays. I did watch at least one movie from every known year they were made dating back to 1887 so still feeling pretty accomplished for tracking and watching them before the streaming sites took off. 🙂

According to our math, at the center of a black hole is a 0 dimensional point of infinite mass, which makes no sense, but we can't really disprove it. If this is true, then a black hole's gravitational pull trends toward infinity as you get closer to it. This is why black holes are true black, their gravity is so strong that light cannot escape it. This also means that theoretically, an object falling into a black hole could be accelerated past the speed of light, and, according to relativity, as you approach the speed of light, time seems to slow down for you, which can be extrapolated to mean that, potentially, if you move faster than the speed of light, time appears to move backwards from your perspective. I don't believe white holes actually exist (i think if they did we would have found one before we found black holes) but the theory has been thrown out there that they exist as an exit on what is essentially the other side of spacetime to a black hole, and, again, were this true, an object entering a black hole *might* exit the white hole first.

If Connor has a good relationship with Hank BUT he chooses to remain a machine, Connor will encounter Hank on that roof instead of those cops, and Connor and Hank argue. (In my opinion it's done well better than those cops being there). As Connor you can try and remain friendly with Hank or be aggressive and even bring up Hank's son there. It's rare but you can unlock the choice to walk away from Hank and the roof and the scene ends there. Or Hank's relationship will go down to Hostile and you'll be forced to fight Hank, and you can choose to kill or spare him, or Hank will kill Connor. Also wanted to add, during the fight between Markus and Connor, if you choose Markus, his theme plays, but if you choose Connor, his theme plays in the background. Connor fights with his gun mostly, it's quick and efficient for him, Markus fights using his fists and environment around him, cool details about them both.

I know I'm late to this but there's actually a moment where Connor can interact with Simon at the Tower. If you refuse to kill Simon as Markus and let him hide, Connor can check the rooftop instead of the kitchen and find him. Simon will start shooting at everyone to defend himself and Connor will charge and access his memory, seeing "Jericho," before SImon turns the gun on himself. Connor can actually have a deviant moment here and he'll tell Hank "When it fired, I felt it die. Like I was dying... I was scared." And the chapter ends with it saying "Connor was traumatized." It's something a lot of people miss but it's a very cool detail since Connor is rarely ever scared. And this is before he even becomes a deviant.

I am super-amused by the operator going wandering and getting stuck, and this being resolved by GLOOing it down to ground level. That's pure immersive sim goodness!

When the Neuromod building plan got blocked, didn't January or Alex say that there was a way to override that?

convergent evolution suggest lifeforms living in similar enviroments even if not anywhere close to one another may share similar features. so if a water planet with similar waters to earth exist then lifeforms there may be similar to them.

like you wanna make burgers from scratch. you need wheat and a mill to make flower. need sesame plants for the seeds.need a cow for the meat. a meat grinder and knife to cut up the meat and vegetables. to make those you need metal and a way to melt the metal so you can shape it. for that you need a proper furnace and fuel. survival games are really not that tedius compared to most of life if you could not rely on anyone other then yourself. real survival is much more tedius .

I have just finished this game today and I think my main motivation for coming back to it was you when you kept complimenting it when playing Subnautica. I have to admit that I am still a Subnautica girl, but it was quite an experience!

About the oxygen station, when you start a new game you can actually add difficulty modifiers, like oxygen running out in space, your guns breaking, fire damage, bone breakage, etc.
