- Wantan noodles served with Char Siew (barbecue pork), pickled green chillies and dumplings. A delicious plate of noodles! The wantans and its soup contribute further to this delectable noodles.
www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes...
My great grandma sold noodles to make ends meet ever since she was a young lady. She had been doing just that for almost half a century before she retired! Perhaps that is why, even after all these years, we still have this love for noodles.
In Hong Kong, Wantan noodles are very different from those sold in Malaysia. There are two different types but the more common of the two is not the wantan soup noodles but the dry version known as “kon loh mee”. Directly translated, it basically means dry mix noodles.
The springy egg noodles go perfectly well with the delicious barbecued Char Siu pork and the sweet sourish pickled green chillies. This dish is anything but plain! I love how the sweetness of the barbecued pork goes well with the sourness of the pickled chillies.
Wantan noodles can also be served together with the chicken from the Hainanese Chicken Rice recipe. If you prepare more servings, just increase the amount of ingredients accordingly.

Nyonya Cooking (Malaysian Recipes) hi i need to ask, how do u cook the noodle? i boiled it and then rinse it but they got kembang and lembik, it's not like the one i have at kopitiam, any advice?

@@nyonyacooking thank you so much of your effort... 谢谢你
You have a lot of neat videos. Mostly with food I've never even heard of. If only I could find some of the ingredients around by me. What type of food would you call your videos? (Chinese, Taiwanese)?
Heyya, first of all, thanks for dropping by! Do you have any asian market near you to get the ingredients? Else, I am sure you can get them online. :) Most of the videos are of Malaysian cuisine but since malaysia is such a multicultural country, the recipes are (so far) of Straits Chinese (Peranakan), Malay and Malaysian Chinese food. I really hope you enjoy the videos and hope to see more of your comments here!
No, thanks goes to you for the vids. they take time. And about an hour from here. I visit it whenever I'm in that area and bring stuff back. But next time I'll look for a few particular things and maybe give a recipe a shot
Nyonya cooking can i have nasi kukus recipi ist makanan khas malaysian ,, thanks
Can you make hand-made noodles ?
Thank you so much ,,,, we appreciate and enjoy your videos
. Sorry don't get your name yet.
wynn yu Gotta watch more of my videos to know my name. Haha
i like this! but i always use chicken lard (scmaltz)
Hello grace. I tried doing this everything is fine except my sauce. It taste like burned and too thick of dark soy sauce. what m suppose to do?tq
So i just noticed abou this easy simple stuff.... im gonna make it later.... it looks simple.... btw thanks for this recipe..... i gotta to ask you..... is it suitable to accompany it with chicken bbq and fried egg.... ya considering that im a muslim...
Muhammad Iqmal oh my god. Yes of course you can. I tried the halal version of kon lo mee at Kings Bakery and restaurant at Sungei Wang. You can find it at Kings Bakery and hotels.
Thanks Grace. Have one question though. I bought a bottle of Kecap but the label says Sweet Soy Sauce and it also says Kecap Manis and your recipe calls for dark soy sauce. So is there a difference between Dark Soy sauce and Kecap Manis. I don't seem to be able to find the non-sweet Dark Soy Sauce. Is that just ordinary soy sauce and reduce sodium soy sauce, sometimes labeled Light Soy Sauce? Confused in the US.
there are difference between dark soy sauce and kicap manis...they are two different thing
do u have sarawak laksa recipe?
Do you know how to make Kueh Lapis or is it sometimes also known as 9 layer kueh? It will be awesome ^^
Sure :)
I'm so hungry jus by watching this now. So easy. I saw egg noodles sold here in the supermarket bt not sure if it taste like the authentic wanton noodles..
Grace, what is tat sweet sauce? I have a bottle here named sweet sauce too and it's use for dipping popiah. Can I use tat?
Try it out!! You will never how it taste until you've tried it :P Even if the egg noodles are not authentic, it should taste close enough.
That sweet sauce is not the one used for dipping popiah but it's called as Kicap Manis. It's like oyster sauce but much thicker and darker in colour. Tastes sweet of course. Hehe..
Nyonya Cooking (Malaysian Recipes)
do u have receipe for nasi campur? Used to have it at chinese shop.
There are many dishes. Maybe you will find something you like here: www.nyonyacooking.com/recipes - Admin
Hey Grace, I saw you live in Germany and so do I. Unfortunately the closest Asian market is very small here and doesn't sell those egg noodles. Have you seen any in any other supermarket in Germany that might be close? Thanks
Yes I do :) Hmmm...In this case, Rewe or Edeka do have quite an extensive Asian section these days. Get those really thin noodles (yellow and not the white ones), that should be an OK substitute :)
hi can u do minced chicken noodle thank you
Please cook for us mee goreng
how to cook the chickennn im curioussss
not bad at all.
Nyonya can you cook ikan bakar
