Carson Hill is a real pioneer in tattoo machine technology. Since he has turned his attention to pen style rotary tattoo machines, and we are all better because of it.
In today's episode, we talk about his latest and best iteration, the Neuma 5.
Unlike many large tattoo machine manufacturers, Carson works daily with his machines and communicates regularly with the artists who use them.
Because of this, he is able to really pin down improvement points and make significant changes quickly.
During our conversation, Carson and I talk about the issues that arose in previous versions of the machine and how he and his team went about correcting them.

Everyone has that issue with bishop grips 🤦♂️ carts always get stuck in them
Literally never had this issue. Maybe I’m lucky. I use kwadron, Davinci v2, and mast pro cartridges.

So what happened with the “Play”? Seems like some hurdles were hit right at the end and the initial plan was abandoned for the collaboration with Critical.
Love and trust this company but the vague verbiage and only 3d model renders at launch missed the mark a bit in my opinion. Still a supporter and it’s nice to watch the progression with a humble approach applied, hope to see the features described here start showing up as I think it’s a really exciting innovation.
Have the 4 and it’s been a great machine. All though it’s set up to pack and I rarely change it. So if the 5 will have quick shift functions that sounds very interesting. I’m sure when it goes live it will say, but not fully sure on the differences between the 5 and 4 though

@@user-su5qf4jp3l i use the 3.6 unless im pulling a 18rs line ill use the 4.2 20% with a brass arm bearing but everything else 3.6 28 % with aluminum besring arm

You have to check the Neuma 4 videos, but answering your question, yes.
It does line and color pack like a coil

Really ?? Again?? How many times are you going to do this ?? Not trying to be a negative because I love the show but I really think you need To find a different Machine builder like bishop or Dan kubin etc etc to go over the info that you have already discussed with each other ..I get it you changed a part and etc etc .. like come on guys enough already ….We only live once man !!! I think you guys can do alot better your both smart …
Personally I appreciate the total transparency of the builder, to the artist, or perspective purchaser.
The other companies are not sharing at this level, why, I can only assume the reasons.
Why are they continually going over this particular machine, I believe they have a vested interest.
Have you ever seen another machine builder or company as open and transparent as Carson/Neuma? I tried to contact Franco at Bishop with an interesting concept. Surprise, no response. I’ve dealt with Carson for awhile now. Seems to care about the industry.

It’s been a long time since Franco and Gaston doesn’t give a single fuck about customers (since the rotary tattoo forum died). And what their process was to release xion and wand was to order a Cheyenne pen in Europe and mostly copy it.
So nice. Years after years they come with the same garbage stuff more and more expensive but hey with galaxy color.
Carson is pushing things as Dan is doing it. He took the concept of the stigma amen and made it a pen that works and is a beast for lining and color (don’t do much b&g so can’t talk about it)
