Happy Birthday to Eddie Levert, longtime member and co-lead singer of the legendary O'Jays, born June 16th, 1942. On June 16, 2024 he celebrated his 82nd birthday. By any measure, the O'Jays are one of the most important Soul Music groups of all-time. Whether delivering funky dance music, romantic ballads, or thoughtful social commentary in song
"Forever Mine" is the epitome of SMOOOOOOTH SOUL! I love the perfect balance between Walter Williams' buttery, velvety vocals and the powerful, gospel-tinged grit in Eddie Levert's vocals. Shout out to Sammy Strain in the middle as all three guys soulfully strut and glide on the floor. And you know a group is smooth when they can totally rock glittery, yellow suits with shoes to match!

Eddie Levert still sings with the same passion. Walter Lee Williams still looks great in his clothing and continues to have a great voice. Both men are nearly 80 years old, been in the same group since 1958. May God continue to protect them as he blesses them with longevity and blesses us with classics from The Ojays. A special acknowledgement to Eric Nolan Grant who is the newest yet wonderful addition to the group since the mid 90s
I watch this video almost every morning after I return from the gym. I’m 45 and I was brought up on this music. The choreography and dress of these handsome men remain unmatched today. And the lyrics of this song speaks to my soul. I hope to dance to this song on my wedding day. Or any day with my future husband. This is music. This is chivalry. These are the words of real men. #forevermine

My boyfriend was at home, while I was working and he recorded himself singing this to me. He sent me the video and all I can say is I love this man. We are both 39 and he is always surprising me with his soul music. ❤️ We have been together for a year. That same night I got home from work at 4am and he played it again and we danced in our room. My hubby passed away on February 10,2022. We were married for more than 41 years, and we both respected what each of us liked differently, and we grew to appreciate who we were and melded that together. In this life, there are so many sad things happening around us! For me too, I encounter and go through unpleasant things every day, but those difficulties don't stop me, it doesn't even affect my emotions anymore. It is because of these things that have helped me to be stronger, to strive more in this difficult life!
The O'jays are so smooth. They are the ultimate entertainers. There performances are just unmatched. I always loved this song. Still listening in 2021.
These brothers will be the bearers of high standard in the music world. Walter and Eddie voices mesh so well together. They have set the bar at a very high level for others to follow.

There is NO ONE like the O'Jays, their music will last forever. Took my daughter to see them for the 1st time when she was 7 yrs. Old, she is in her 50's now and she loves their music. I listen to them and it brings back so many wonderful memories.
I'm 32; I've loved the O'Jays since my early 20's when I first heard this song & "cry together." After listening to all of their songs, I haven't heard one song that I don't like! Oh how I wish music today was like this-- heartfelt, meaningful & just beautiful, with such passion! Don't forget the instruments used in old school music! It's sad how distasteful & horrible music is today. 😞
My momma used to play soul music when I was growing up. The melody and words to this one are so sweet that I knew it was going to be one of my all time favorites the first time I heard it. The mother of my children left me two years ago. The heartbreak that overcame me brought more pain than I had ever imagined. After much time and through the healing kindness of my closest friends and family I was able to pull myself back together and find peace in my heart and mind. I don't know if I'll ever love again, or if I'll ever find a companion to share a life with, but I do know that I can play this song and close my eyes and remember a younger me who swooned at the thought of forever love. God Bless

There is NO ONE like the O'Jays, their music will last forever. Took my daughter to see them for the 1st time when she was 7 yrs. Old, she is in her 50's now and she loves their music. I listen to them
and it brings back so many wonderful memories.
Fantastic gift for her
My song, my song....my song. I don't think anyone can sing this song better than the Ojays. The composer put everything in this song..timeless.

FOREVER MINE💪💯💔
I love this music
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
God Bless
Just know Chris Leon with "God's" help everything gets better! There is someone out there that will love you for who you are! Just keep looking up 🙏❤️🩹!

Charles Melonson you’re right it doesn’t get any better than this because you don’t hear real music like this that came straight from the heart and soul nowadays all you hear is lyrics about a lot of negativity and nonsense
Sing that song ojays

I'm 1996! My great uncle had the BIGGEST record collection ever of great black artists, even little known ones. He'd throw these huge cookouts at his house and EVERYBODY would be there!!! Late into the night we'd all gather in the basement that was an apartment in disguise and he'd play his records. I'm so glad to have been exposed to so many and I love old school ❤️
RIP TO HIM 🙏🏿
