Doesn't matter what generation you were born in the music is timeless for every generation to enjoy. If you are watching this I wish the best for you in life.
Only if its saying something musically or lyrically thats why i always return. Good music is my only bounty
Take it from someone born in '93, I can attest to its timelessness. They don't make heartfelt love songs like this anymore.
Happy Birthday Luther! The world misses you!!!
Right back at ya.
Thanks :) good luck for you too

The greatest r&b singer hands down. I used to be mad when my mom played all this 70's and 80's music then she died in 2003 and now this type of music is the only thing that comforts me
Mariah Carey is the greatest R'n'B singer, but He is good
Mimilamb4life The hot guy everyone has their own opinion
@@alexpent1482 Those are not opinions those are facts. Mariah Carey is the Queen of R'n'B and you Can't change this. She outsold him.
Mimilamb4life The hot guy Mariah Carey is one of the greatest singers ever, regardless of genres. However, her music isn’t pure R&B. It has more elements of regular pop music.
Mimilamb4life The hot guy ok with that logic then Eminem is the greatest rapper of all time because he has sold the most records. So many people would disagree with me but I can tell them that they are wrong because Eminem has outsold them. Seems unfair now doesn’t it

People don't realize that Luther had been toiling in the entertainment industry for 12 years and was 30 years old when this song was released. Sometimes success can be immediate, other times it's living in obscurity for years before you get that break. You can have the greatest voice in the world and may never get that chance. Never Too Much was 12 years in the making from his time performing on the first season of Sesame Street, to the misses with his group Luther, to writing commercial jingles and performing with groups you've never heard, like Mascara, to his first taste of success with the group Change. This is Luther's time to shine, and once he got the opportunity, the rest, is history.
His work baking up David Bowie and RoxyMusic/Bryan Ferry. He sang back up on a ton of hits in a lot of different genres. I bought this 45.
Here is he singing backup for David Bowie on Young Americans: th-cam.com/video/ydLcs4VrjZQ/w-d-xo.html
He also sang backup for Todd Rundgren: th-cam.com/video/58K5j9zsfhA/w-d-xo.html

I was there in 2001 at Madison sqaure garden. It was the MJ 30th anniversary concert. I worked for a big record label there as an A&R rep and joked to my boss to not give me a bonus that year, just get me into the concert. He did-it was life changing. No one had a clue Luther was gonna be there. All dude had to do was belt out a note and the whole damn crowd made me deaf for 2 weeks. Everyone knew it was him. Probably the most recognizable R&B voice of all time. The amount of talent that night was absolutely unbelievable.
What do you do now? 🤔
@@AyoBlade-u2s The label disbanded and went back to it’s original name. The heads of the label ran it to the ground and were headed by complete morons who had zero knowledge in music or performing. I can't fool myself, I don't want nobody else to ever love me
You are my shinin' star, my guiding light, my love fantasy
There's not a minute, hour, day or night that I don't love you
You're at the top of my list 'cause I'm always thinkin' of you
I still remember in the days when I was scared to touch you
How I spent my day dreamin' plannin' how to say I love you
You must have known that I had feelings deep enough to swim in
That's when you opened up your heart and you told me to come in
Oh, my love
A thousand kisses from you is never too much
I just don't wanna stop
Oh, my love
A million days in your arms is never too much
I just don't wanna stop
Too much, never too much, never too much, never too much
Woke up today, looked at your picture just to get me started
I called you up, but you weren't there and I was broken hearted
Hung up the phone, can't be too late, the boss is so demandin'
Opened the door up and to my surprise, there you were standin'
Well, who needs to go to work to hustle for another dollar
I'd rather be with you 'cause you make my heart scream and holler
Love is a gamble and I'm so glad that I'm winnin'
We've come a long way and yet this is only the beginnin'
Oh, my love
A thousand kisses from you is never too much
(Never too much, never too much, never too much)
I just don't wanna stop
Oh, my love

Hearing his music still makes me a bit nervous, which is kind of sad cause I'm a grown adult now 😂
The 5k who dislike dont know the sound of real music
Freddie Flores why did they bother to come here? It’s Luther!!
@@calitouring1055 That is a great question
The song not about "selling rock & popping a cap at some fool on da co'na". So they just can't understand it.
@@lycossurfer8851 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you said co'na. That was awesome
Basically
What a voice, what a man! I was lucky enough to see him live at Wembley! I will forever remember that feeling of seeing a demi god in front of me! I miss and love you still my man! Xx
A musical masterpiece from back in the day and it still sounds as fresh as it did on the day that it dropped.
So true. Playing it now in a sunny Eglish garden.
Timeless classics, real music like this rarely exist now.
Agreed

@@MARSBELLA1 And here come the grammar police.... Look up "music dropped" and you will see that it's a common term in music circles.

+Tyson Dixon same here!
+Tyson Dixon Or stop being close minded and accept more than one genre of music? Hip hop is my favourite genre but instead of dissing other genres, I'm more open minded and listen to RnB/soul or whatever
I wish i had a wand that could bring really good stars back from the dead as Luther would be on my list to bring back along with david bowie and Barry white donna summer and Whitney and MJ
And that'll make Stevie happy
