Apparently Luther was an accountant or something like that at the time but he was a massive Patti fan so he brought a rack of women's gowns and snuck into the theater where Patti was performing, claiming he was a stylist and then he wormed his way to Patti's room and they became instant best friends.

I went to his last concert before he passed away. With my friends. It was one of the most blissful experiences of my life. He was amazing it was before he passed. God bless Mr. Vandroff. A true talent. We all felt it. His voice was a symphony of harmonies and energy in one. Good times
