By any measure, the O'Jays are one of the most important Soul Music groups of all-time. Whether delivering funky dance music, romantic ballads, or thoughtful social commentary in song

Agree 💯, but why until 2005 for them to be accepted into the music hall of fame 🤔. Must have been to much positive messages in their music 🎶. Or was it something personal. Help me out here
It is my belief that their music did not get the play time on the radio's that they should have gotten, and that's why it took the Rock and roll hall of fame so long to recognize their timeless music. I'm happy to see these legendary brothers get their flowers while they are alive👍🙏 O'jays for life.
@@kennykinard3691 I feel you sir, but over fifty years, where some artists got in so early and didn't have half the hits the mighty ojays had. But they have stood the test of time. 💯
My brother I feel the same way that you feel about the length of time it took for the music world to recognize such awesome music . I might be wrong it is my humble opinion that just maybe the message in these legendary brothers music was too rich and real for the hall of fame to accept & understand.

The power of their enduring and endearing catalog of real, soulful, quality and substantive music over the many years of dedicated hard work that really touched the souls of Black people is in a class by itself; as they sang the experiences of the people that they arose from (songs such as Stairway to Heaven, Ship Ahoy, Family Reunion, and Cry Together, etc., are unlike any of that commercialized stuff they are putting out today (it just doesn't have the staying power)! I want to hear Music, not Beefs! Many more Blessings, Power & Respect to the O'Jays and their Continued Legacy! Love You, Guys, Always & Forever!💐💕

Don’t nobody sleep on Walter Williams. His voice is just as beautiful but with a smooth kinda tone that just feels right somehow. His vocals are just the perfect contrast to Eddie’s strong, masculine delivery. I still love my O Jay’s . ❤ You can have these new singers. Most of them can’t really sing.
And always a message in there music to live by. Is that the reason it took the ojays not until 2005 to be added to the hall of fame 🤔 positive music to grow from. Especially young people.

I am still trying to figure out why they have not been given a Kennedy Center honor, as well as Gladys Knight, The Ojay's are one of the best groups, even in retirement their music lives on.
Leslie I agree with you whole heartedly these Legendary brothers deserve all the awards that society and the music industry have to offer. O'jays for life.
"Walk with me cause the door is open"...just dayum! The concerts back in the day were the s**t! How much I love them? Went to one of their concerts with jaw swollen from an abcessed tooth...Even though I had been there for the show the night before and having seen them at least 8 times at that point! No one but the Ojays could make me get out in that condition! I was not disappointed!
These brothers vocals were flawless and unmatched, they will always be bearers of high standard in the music world, these brothers done set the bar so damn high for others to follow; I don’t think nobody comes close to what they did.
The kids today just don’t understand.......this is the music that never leaves the heart and soul of those living at the time. True emotion and happiness.
The OJAYS and their music are timeless .MFSB gave their music a richness other groups did not have. Thank you GAMBLE and HUFF for creating that PHILLY sound. My all time favorite group.

And now it’s June 2024, this never gets old. I’m 64 and this is what I listened to. I’m glad I a 60’s baby. They just don’t make music like this anymore.😢
🦁🖤🦁🖤🦁🖤🦁🖤😎
Timeless music. 45 years later
222 ❤ I’m 25 and I have such an old soul I’m so thankful for my baby boomer parents , they showed me the value of life and how to stay humble and the beauty of oldies rip to my father I fell like he sending me a message through this song I had a dream about him a while back he was waiting on bench for me and walked to him and I was able to lay my head on his shoulder one last time ❤ so much power and love in this song beautiful melody to the ear 🙏✨
❤
Who’s listening with me in 2024???😂❤
Timeless music that will never get old bumping this right now
The old school music is always brand new to me 😊I ❤love it. For ever and always brand new!
I'm , amazing
Me.
This song is so beautiful.
Gladys Knight recently received a much deserved Kennedy Center award.
Lucky lucky people to be in that audience witnessing this amazing performance. They are still the greatest, the Mightiest.
2022 , "Don't you wanna GO?"
Ain't no music mo profound so soulful..so sweet as black rooted blue's. and soul.they may imitate but they Can't emulate what we ESCALATE.
Imagine what American music would sound like if it wasn't for the creativity of Black people 🤔
I remember this jam, loved it beautiful. The bad O'Jays can't nobody compare with them bad guys in the day. 💕 Love it.
O'Jays are forever.
Yesss, O'Jays, Hands Down. ForReal 🎼
Without a doubt one of greatest soul train performances ever.
Not the best, this is historic right here.
Absolutely
