- In today's Europa Universalis IV (EU4) video we will be taking each country and giving them core provinces on every province that has their primary culture group as it's local culture. This means that nations like Austria or Brandenburg will have cores on all of Germany and the Low Countries, Florence has cores on all of Italy, and so on. This should lead to some very aggressive early game wars!

For the explo/expansion unlock idea, I think it would be better if everyone except the usual colonizers had access to it. Like, forbid GB/Spain/France/Portugal from having colonists at all so we can be sure to get other tags out colonizing

Regarding "I don't know what happened here", isn't there a province history screen somewhere? I recall it existing in EU3, and it listed all changes of ownership and control of a province.
I could be funny if you did a megachampaign but every game with ultra historical and see if it’s the same as normal

They added in a funny modifier called Can ignore fort zone of control, what about giving every province a Star Fort and every AI that modifier

What if you did smt similar but instead it scales on size: the weakest in terms of development gets the most cores and the strongest gets the least, with ties leading to both getting an equal amount of cores
Idk if its too difficult to do or even if it's actually possible but could be a cool scaling mechanic for the weaker nations while also allowing the blobs
To elaborate, this means that everyone except the strongest power gets the cores and so we could see some new players emerging (Brittany/burgundy maybe?)
A lot of people forget that the Levantine Cultural Union is one of the best early game empires to form, and it’s close in reach for the Mamluks. Getting Arabia can quite easily turn an Ottoman tide

Gotta love seeing Norway do well. Though it's disappointing that they always get overrun by Prussia/Russia/Commonwealth at the end of the game, even when they get past Sweden/Denmark.
I'd love to see one round of Norway getting some love. Having all monuments or maxed technology, though I understand if it's not high on the priority list.
Western Europe looking like an Ante Bellum campaign for 300 years wasn't what I was expecting, but I'm here for it.

Everyone having Exploration and Expansion ideas at start could be interesting. Might see a more horrible mess than usual out of the new world as there'd be less Papal Treaty shenanigans to help solidify the first come, first served nature.
Though I expect Portugal with that +70 Growth ability in the Age of Discovery might really run away with that.

there's a path for teutons to be prussia but expanding into poland Lithuania, rather than HRE, no one plays it so its cool to see ai do it
i managed to resurect the umayids and become calip i own most of spain, a portugal, moroocco and most of algeria.
Idea: Everyone is at war but when they conquer a province they annex it.

Cursed idea I have: any expansion = automatic coalition from everyone
Prussia and Germany at the same time? heresy!. Was rooting for Norway there and had a faint glimmer of hope with their massive expansion, but then poof, gone. Looks like maybe they were a PU under Prussia or Prussia aided Vinland in a rebellion against Norway which could explain why Canada is in northern russia.

The cores only exist for nations at the start. They conquered them because nations like to conquer land that is of their culture group, not because of the cores, but it’s still interesting

No idea tbh, nowhere better to put them but having them be their own culture group would be a big nerf
I think that is mostly for gameplay reasons to encourage the ottomans to push down into the mamluks
