When I had bad skin, I went to the dermatologist and the dermatologist gave me the best products. It's ridiculous to spend so much money on products that I don't even believe celebrities use. Everyone's skin type is different and everyone should have their own skin care routine.
I never understood how people can be naive enough to trust celebrities. Just cuz they are hot doesn't mean they know sht. When my skin was acting up real bad. I just watch TH-cam derm videos. Did some more research on my conditions. Set my standards low and used some ordinary's products. And after a few months my skin improve A LOT.

Products like this from celebrities make me particularly upset because they prey on people who are insecure about their skin and are willing to spend hundreds of dollars to try to reach these unobtainable skin goals. No hate to Hailey but she has access to thousands of dollars worth of skincare and other skin treatments, and probably got lucky with genetics. I wish celebrities would just be honest, so people would stop spending hundreds of dollars of their hard earned money on their products just to be disappointed by the result.
They bank on people who are insecure about their skin. Most Celebs/influencers in beauty fashion industry SELL that fantasy that you can achieve this same look if you buy ____. Of course there are disclosures that have to be met to protect consumers when it comes to labeling but we as consumers need to make our own judgement on what to spend our money on. We can’t uphold brands to be “100% honest” when there is a fine line between lying and marketing
Yeah no shit everyone knows her skin isn't good because she uses her stuff. Her skin is either from good gene or good stuff from another existing brand! It would make more sense for Hailey to partner up with one of the skincare brands that she uses instead of starting her own.
Right? Ordinary, Cetaphil, Aveeno and even Nivea. All companies that have been around for decades (with the exception of Ordinary) I mean Cetaphil is a hospital grade skin care line. Thats what is used for patients.
When you can afford professional skin treatments and injections, it’s highly unfair to compare your own skin to if you can’t afford it. We aren’t ugly, we just weren’t born rich.
Yeah. And then these celebs try to shove it in our throat that they look that good because of their own skincare lines. I'm sorry. But if I could afford to go to the dermatologist once a month I'd not only have better skin but also would know of any allergies. Since I have had allergic reactions in the past to maximum five products. Or they get sponsored and claim that's why they have glowy beautiful skin. If I told you I have good skin because I sometimes remember to use my elf moisturizer I'm not lying. And that's literally all I do and use. I don't have no fancy spa session or facial or doctor. Our treats are literally slightly pricy face masks once a year if we're able to trade buying that instead of something other. While they have facemasks for days. For real though. A 4 euro face mask is an expensive treat for me since I don't have a job yet and I'm a university student.
I don't really mind celebrity endorsed makeup but skincare has a lot of science behind it and why certain products can absorb into your skin and others can't. Honestly after watching a lot of skincare experts I have found that the price and endorsement doesn't equal quality skincare.
I was literally in the middle of writing this comment. Their ENTIRE FACE wouldn't look like that if they tested it in a small corner first instead of impatiently popping open the product and slathering it all over their skin.
If we’ve learned _anything_ from celebrities and influencers in 2022, it’s that they will go out of their way to completely miss every opportunity to do good or give back to the people who’ve built them up to where they are today. Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉
PSA for skin care, always do a patch test and do it over a couple days. Watch out for certain ingredients - because some are only to be used 2x a week or you may have to build up to be able to use a certain amount, like "retinol".
Also RESEARCH THE INGREDIENTS! Now that more beands are using Vit C, Retinol, Lactic acid, etc., I think its easier to get reactions, since some products are not meamt to be used daily.
anyone who thinks skincare is what's making all these celebrities have perfect skin has to be on some major copium. these people have access to the best doctors and procedures making everything unobtainable to the average person. people who are really into skincare know a quick skim at the ingredients list of these products are laced with fragrance, irritants and are nothing special. researching is so important when purchasing anything in this industry! i guarantee you the main ingredients found in all of these celebrity products can be found at the drug store for more than 1/2 of the cost, free of fragrance and irritants.
I’ll never understand ppl spending hundreds of dollars on celeb skinscare when established and reputable brands like cetaphil, cerave, neutrogena or la roche posay exist at a more affordable price
Don't sleep on plain old Vaseline! I honestly think the drug store options can be better than some of the bougie lines out there, cause they don't use fragrances to justify a high price point
Wow, it’s almost like these influencers and celebrities have no education or training in skincare, and are only looking to make a quick buck off their loyal fans. Too bad we don’t have a special type of doctor who studied skincare and wanted to genuinely help patients. Such a shame.
I'm not a fan of Trisha however, I honestly believe her that people were intentionally sabotaging her skin line. Multiple people came out saying they had bad reactions but couldn't even prove they actually bought the product.
I feel that this also happened to Hailey because she was at first receiving ALOT of positive reviews but this triggered Selena fans again or shippers of Selena and Justin that still sabotage Hailey to this day. And suddenly many comments said "yes it happened to me too" without any proof of buying the product, just writing a simple comment.
There are reputable skin care professionals on TH-cam that reviewed Trisha’s skin care and they all trashed it. One did a blue light test to see how much screen was in her products, and no sun screen was in them. The owner of the company had a dog defecate in her business, and other poor sanitary conditions in her office. So no, it wasn’t just trolls.
Some of the most popular, well reviewed skin care products in the world make me breakout like crazy - everyone’s skin is different, there is no universal product
I don’t know why people expect so much from celebrity skincare companies? Skincare routines are not universal; you can get reactions from derm recommended products you buy at the drug store. Stop hyping them & save your money.
I dont understand why anyone would buy some (not so cheap) celebrity skincare line when you could buy Avene, La Roche Posay, Eucerin, Uriage, Isdin, Cerave or Bioderma, those brands are sooo good
I’ve been blessed with clear skin my whole life (although I had other insecurities to obsess over) and never really used any products. Ppl ask me how I take care of my skin I just tell them I just wash my face with water. So it would be ridiculous for me to create skin care products so women can have a clear face like me. I don’t understand how ppl buy into this logic. I doubt it’s their fancy products that gave them their clear skin.
Same here! All I really do are like Pacifica cleansers but I’ve also noticed the more water I drink the better my skin is. Feel like skin products aren’t 100% necessary compared to overall health
My bf has amazing skin too. His face is always clear and no acne at all. Not even sunburns or nothing. He says that he just showers everyday in room temperature water and that’s it.
Nothing helped my skin until I visited a dermatologist which is prob the same thing all these celebs do but with top notch doctors and plenty of money to invest in anything they suggest. 10000% will never be putting anything on my skin unless my derm approves it
Same. I did asking my derm to have otc skincare due to overwhelming things in skincare and I have bad allergies that relapse suddenly without warning. Sometimes my skincare products that I used in normal condition is okay to use, but when allergy reactions is relapse again, I usually focus on medication rather than using usual skincare products
Patch tests are so important. Morgan could also be mixing certain products that shouldn’t be mixed. I’ve ruined my skin so many times because I forgot to do a patch test.
Morgan Adams also has extremely sensitive skin and pretty much anything will trigger her skin to flare up (I've been watching her for a long time and she's complained about her skin being sensitive a lot) but I haven't tried Rhode so it could be bad idk
Yeah she needs to stay away from certain ingredients- and especially products with fragrance. I have sensitive skin and looked at the product she tried and it’s absolutely not for sensitive skin. It’s really disappointing she decided to shame the product and entire line when it just didn’t work for her personally.
@@tburrrg2502 Yeah I agree! fragrance is such a big no no for sensitive skin! I think she was just upset cause her skin flared up which is understandable when you've spent a long time trying to keep it clear! and I know how painful acne can be.
@@kendoll4127 honestly, that's on her. I have sensitive skin and it takes 30 seconds to check for fragrances - it's an auto no if they're there. Seems like she's either careless or wanted to make headlines, no fragrances for sensitive skin isn't complex.
People need to stop listening to influencers about what’s good for YOU and YOUR body. These influencers are trying to sell a product, not help you improve your skin. Next time you go in for a checkup, ask your physician for advice for your skin, or look for a dermatologist or a specialist if you have needs that a GP doesn’t know. Most of these people will recommend INGREDIENTS not products. They might make a short list of ones they’re aware of, but ultimately YOU know your skin the best. Also, some advice from a person who’s been fighting acne for like a decade: pharmacy stuff is FINE. You DONT NEED expensive designer skin care for mild acne or mildly dry/oily skin. I started using a regular skincare regimen about a year ago, and my skin has seen steady improvement. None of the products I use cost more than $30, and you can get most of them at your local CVS or other pharmacy, and if not, you can order them on Amazon. If you DO have more specific needs, FIND A TRAINED SPECIALIST. Stop trusting these influencers to know about your body and your needs!!
🔥🔥🔥 I’m the same. I use Vanicream cleanser, a basic hyaluronic acid serum, and a cerave moisturizer. My skin is better than it ever was on more “special” and expensive products. I can’t touch my face with fragrance, for instance. But not everyone has that problem.
I think there are too many great skincare brands out there that have done the work, made quality products and earned trust from the public to make me truly interested in a celebrity skincare brand. I work hard for my money and I can't afford to risk $50 on a serum when I know there is one for $15 that my skin drinks like water 🤷♀️ It just isn't worth the money or potential skin reaction imo.
This takes me back to the Proactiv days when I was in my teens. A lot of people lived by it but my skin just did not respond well to it. Everyone would say that I wasn’t using it right. When I switched to Murad it worked wonders so no one product is going to work for everyone. I stay away from most celeb products because they’re just celebs putting their name on something to make money.
I would never buy celebrity skin care lol I have my trusted brands and prefer a brand that's entirely built itself up around skin care than someone who is dabbling into it... Hayley has good skin because of genetics and I'm sure she goes to really expensive facials that benefit her skin immensely not because of her brand.
Here’s the *real* tea. Like Trish basically said, she just jumped into an existing brand. She didn’t formulate a new product. She didn’t do anything revolutionary. She took products that had been working for her and people she knew, joined with them and basically added her flare to the branding and marketing. But the tea is that a VAST majority of celebrity/influencer products are doing exactly the same thing. It’s not a new product. It’s not a new formula. They’ve just taken another, usually generic type of formula and slapped their branding on it. People, most often than not, judge that product not based on performance or quality but based on the association with that personality. In reality, compare skin care to skin care. Their formulas aren’t that different to begin with. Every industry is like that. Cars? They all share SO many similarities in their designs. What you’re buying is mostly branding.
Unfortunately my skin broke out like crazy using Fenty Skin and I wanted to love it so bad but not every celeb skincare line is geared towards everyone.
Skin care is very personal to each persons. I think you have to understand going in that a product can have the best ingredients but have a bad reaction on your skin. If a product has a history of giving people bad reactions I do avoid it though. I just don’t want to take that chance and completely understand why someone else wouldn’t either.
Haven’t used her brand but I looked up her ingredients for the glazed fluid. I guess it’s the niacinamide make people break out. This ingredient has lots of benefits to the skin, but some people has low tolerance toward it. I experienced the exactly same reaction when I first time using niacinamide serum
People also don’t realize everyone has different skin. From the oils to the layers to the hairs; etc. basic anatomy/ biology yada yada lol. Just because it doesn’t work for you, doesn’t mean it won’t work for someone else. I have to be SUPER careful what i put on my face. But my body, couldn’t care less what soap. My face reacts to everything while my body hardly ever does. And that’s MY OWN body. Food for thought.
this is why you do swatch tests. put a little on a spot like behind your ear and give it a day to see the reaction. A lot of products tell you to do that before incorporating them into your regimen.
omg yes, i have been watching your videos forever, i have been waiting for this video and I can say for a fact Hailey's skincare was built on hype idk i always can see through these celebs' skin care line , it honestly feels like nobody cares about to actually do the research and effort into making something it feels like these days and not everything is a one size fits all routine and a lot of celebs get facials done other stuff as well and they get mad when they are called out it's so funny makes me feel I'm like reliving high school with how some of them act lmao.
Fenty skin is the only skincare line I've tried based on ingredients and reviews and they worked so well its gotten to the point where whenever they release a new product its an autobuy.
It’s basically 2023 and people still don’t realize these influencers are making skincare to strictly make money and it’s a booming industry and not because these people have a genuine interest and passion for skincare. 🙄🙄🙄 I’ll be sticking to my clinical lines thanks.
I just looked on the Rhode website and the glazing fluid (of course much of the stuff is out of stock currently) says to patch test on the inside of your wrist for 24 hours prior to use. Was that there before? Did Morgan and others who had a reaction do that? It seems like they were sensitive to the niacinamide maybe? That's a pretty sensitizing ingredient. Just a thought. Rhode's pricing isn't horrible, and I was really REALLY tempted to try the fluid but I have what works for me that I've been using for a long time and don't want to potentially risk messing it all up.
I have really sensitive skin. This would f up my skin if this is the reactions that some people are having to the products. I don't trust skincare lines by celebrities and influencers unless there are trusted reviews of it. I only use Japanese or Korean skincare products bc they usually work for myself personally and doesn't burn my face.
This fall I bought the Kylie Skin body oil and then also the Kylie Skin Toner. The body oil was great for my psoriasis, the toner however. It made me break out and itch like hell.
Here the thing about skin care, just because some have reaction doesn’t mean the whole brand is trash. I had a HORRIBLE skin reaction to the beloved line The Ordinary. I absolutely hate it, but it works good for others.
I hate when celebrities say oh this is what I’ve been using for years to get this perfect skin when in reality it’s they own brand and they only been working on it for 1-3 years like girl get out of here.
I am not into celebs, and therefore, would never buy a brand just because it's attached to a celebrity. What matters is ingredients, that's it. Check the ingredients..and patch test! People can have reactions to even good and proven ingredients. If it's an active you are not used to or can tolerate, you will end up with a bad reaction, even if it's a good ingredient!
This is gonna be a hard pill to swallow for some people but; Skin clarity is alot like hair thickness/bone structure, that being it's genetic and quite hard to change if bad skin runs in your family. Celebrities can get near perfect skin because they can afford to. Your average suburban teenager isn't going to be able to do that.
Having a good skin doesn't necessarily mean that celeb's make up line works it could be just how it always has been. Also note that some products work for some people and doesn't work for others.
I just use cerave plus a daytime and nighttime cream prescribed to me by a dermatologist. (Every so often I do use a charcoal mask, under eye gels, or detox mask, but that’s not everyday)
actually im living in South Korea and here you can find lines and lines of beautiful useful products.. so better to stay away from all this.. its looks like " pick me !! " lines because im famous !!!
Ngl I’m a huge fan of Hayley’s products, like I use them everyday I have always hated anything made by celebrities but my sister got it for me for Christmas. Can’t vouch for anyone else’s products tho.
I bought the Rhode serum and moisturizer. And I am a licensed esthetician. The serum.. horrible, it made me break out anytime I used it.. it also has a rancid smell (but I could have possibly gotten a bad one?) it never made me look hydrated or “glazed” Now the moisturizer I actually like and have been using for months now.. it does give a dewy look and keeps me hydrated all day! I think the serum was so hyped and it’s honestly just not a good product at all.
This is the reason why is so important to go to a dermatologist. They know what is best for your skin type. I used generic skin products and it took me two years to have a clear skin again. Be careful with what you apply in your skin and ask your dermatologist before using them.
She needs to make a statement on this matter, apologize publicly and look into the formulation to see what she can change. If she really has her hand in this matter she would address this if she really cares for ppls concerns. Also let ppl know what kind of skin this is for cuz not all skin is created equally.
Well, as a skincare junkie, I saw the ingredient of Hailey Bieber's peptide glazing fluid, and I wanna try it although I saw this video. I think the key ingredients: Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Niacinamide, and Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 are interesting and the break-out is sth that depends on your skin. I am allergic to many facial foams on the market from perfect whip, shisedo, Sulwhasoo Timetreasure Extra Creamy Cleansing Foam EX (the most expensive line of Sulwhasoo), Cerave ceramide foam, innisfree, Hada Labo, Etude House, The Face Shop, or even La Mer cleansing foam. I am a big fan of Sulwhasoo and La Mer, and I don't think it's about the brand but I might allergic to a certain ingredient in a particular product. I still enjoy using sulwhasoo first care activating serum and la mer the treatment lotion. However, I think as it is a 'celebrity skincare', ppl tend to have a negative feeling towards it as it is sold by a 'celebrity' and think it must be exceed the expectation compared to any other product while allergy is sth that individual and normal. (lots of my friends hate innisfree since they have got a bad break out from its skincare products, and I also allergy to innisfree's green tea serum (sad ;w;) but I still enjoy innisfree's mask, especially the rose and honey one.)
As a licensed esthetician, there’s nothing more annoying than seeing all of these celebrities launching their own skincare brands. They need to leave skincare to real professionals. If you’re on a budget, I’d highly recommend you look into La Roche-Posay or Naturium. Not only are they affordable, they actually work.
Skin care is very personal and it’s not one product fits all. I’ve personally had a great experience w/ Rhode. But people have to realize that it won’t be like that for every other person: with ANY skincare company there will ALWAYS be problems. Like personally for me I can’t use Cervae and I’ve tried multiple products from them and overtime they break me out. Although I have had luck w/ Cetaphil. So every experience won’t be the same…
I swear by La roche posay!!! I have extremely sensitive skin and can’t just use any product, but let me tell you, Dove sensitive body wash and La roche posay are my holy grail products. I’ve used them for years and each time I try to go all fancy and try something else, I get reminded why I’ve used them for so long.
I think that most skin care lines cater more to the person making them but they always fail to take into account extremely sensitive skin, my friends never buy skin care that isnt trusted because they wont know if its going to destroy their face if the companies had a line catered towards them thatd be great, or better yet a tester package that is cheap and has a little of all the products to know what does what
Usually for products that has caused alot reactions for alot of people FDA would immediately recall all those products and investigate which ingredient or combination of the ingredients that has caused that reaction. Now Im curious what ingredients it has to cause such a bad reaction 🤔 I'll do some research about this and then update this comment once I figure something out :>
Just an advice for anyone that thinking buy some celebrity skincare or just skincare in general. Always look at the ingredients and learn the best way to use it like when, how and what's good and bad ingredients to mix. I'm not trying to sided on these brands, but some people just buy the product because it's hype but then when they use it wrong (doesn't use sunscreen when using retinoid, use acid ingredients when their skin already over exfoliated, etc) they blamed the products
Starting a new skin care your skin always goes through a stage where your skin gets use to something new. I always have issues breaking out reddness for a week or so untill my skin gets used to it. After about 10days you can get a true reaction to the products!
youre joking... if the prouduct gives you bloody cysts after using it you should stop using asap. people like you should stop giving people advices cause this is literally dangerous!
I think the celebrity beauty brands to trust and spend on are Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Rose Inc and Lindsay Ellingson's Wander Beauty. Really enjoyed these 2 celebrity brands and felt it was well worth the spend. Kylie Skin products I use toner and makeup remover but it makes my skin pitty and acne and I had to spend a lot of money to fix my skin so I don't like it and feel like a waste of money buying it. Rhode hasn't shipped to my country yet and I see it's always sold out but after watching this video I think I'll reconsider
I think the reason that skin care seems like an immediate go to is that most of the time people will just convince themselves that they had a good experience with the product even if it doesn’t do anything as long as it isn’t bad because they don’t wanna feel like they wasted their money or put doubt on that brand or creator. And good skin care is pretty subjective
I‘m staying away from all these overhyped celebrity lines because I do have a quite sensitive skin which tends to have acne real quick. I tried so many things but I‘m always seeing the best results with these simple steps: Cleanser by La Roche Posay, BHA Peelings 2x a Week, always (!!) a hyaluronic acid serum and moisturizer and a sunscreen for daytime. The more you use the worse it gets (in my opinion. For example I also needed to stop niacinamide because it made me break out (even with only 5%).
the thing is that skincare is wildly individual. I broke out in a nearly full body allergic reaction from DOVE SENSITIVE BODY SOAP. and I'm not the only one! that's not an issue with the product, just a sensitivity with my skin.
Not all skin care will work for everyone. Literally, we all have different skin and it also depends on your lifestyle, where you live, hormones, etc. Your best bet is going a dermatologist.
what it boils down to, it’s literally the fact that you can be allergic to a specific ingredient in the product. it’s not anyone’s responsibility but yours to check ingredient list and decide whether it’s ok for you or not. it’s not a bad product if it breaks out few people because of allergc omg
It's easy to have great skin in your 20s. These celebrities have dermatologists. They get work done on their faces. Peels. Skin care only goes so deep.
I know nothing about Hailey's skincare line, but if everyone is breaking out, could it be from retinol or glycolic acid? It's good in small, incremental doses but will damage your skin barrier if you use a lot
i can't really say much since i don't use skincare products, even though i should probably use them more i think idk. anyways, my guess is that certain skin care products are for some skins? there is a lot of science and chemicals behind them that i think celebrities who are looking to make their own brand should take time, but even then it could go wrong, its a vicious circle, and literally everything could go wrong. but i am sure that doing half-assed products and just slap a celebrities name on it to make them take partly the blame, is not marketing but just cowering in case something goes wrong.
I remember half a year ago I was literally full of acne and had to go away for an exchange program so my “dermatologist” would recommend me a lot of high end stuff, however my skin ended up clearing with a niacinamide + sunscreen from the drugstore and it was only 5€ 😮💨
Fenty Skin and even Kylie Skin are surprisingly fine products! And I know it’s not Skin Care but Rare Beauty is one brand that I’ve surprisingly not heard anything negative about.
Do people not read the ingredients? I thought everyone did or even do a patch test. Pro tip, do a small circle of the product on the back of your hand or arm. I usually wait for four or five hours to see if there’s a reaction. Yeah I have extremely sensitive skin but it’s good to do the test to make sure cause you never know
i had a rash come from cliniques face moisturizer… paid almost $60 for it. Anyone can quiet literally break out from anything, my skin isn’t sensitive at all. It makes me sad how everyone is so quick to jump on a bandwagon of hate
Skincare from influencer that im genuinely curious about is only from a korean skincare enthusiast, soobeauty. She only has 1 product now which is a toner pad and I do believe she really put much thought making it since she genuinely loves skincare. She's also really open to treatments that she's having and would recommend other brands too.
Hailey worked with bare minerals/ shiseido. I guarantee she has some of the best people on her team for skincare , shiseido is top 5 of th best skincare companies in the world, if you are familiar with shiseido their products are very strong and not for Beginners
As a person with very sensitive skin that even some korean and high end skin care lines destroy my skin I can't imagine using influencer or celebrity skin care. Yes there are makeup lines and other beauty lines like perfumes that many celebs and influencers have launched that have been good, but with something as delicate as the skin from my face, nope I'm not risking it.
rhode skin sucked for me. it didnt wreck my skin, it just did NOTHING. i have dry skin, not acne prone, but just pretty dry. id put the products on and 10 minutes later, it just felt tight and dry again :/ im sure for ppl just starting into skincare, its good, but if youre more into advanced actives and seeing results, I’d invest elsewhere.
Just have to say thank you. I've followed a few other channels to see what people are interested in that's going on. And you and Spill are the only two channels that don't make me want to rip out my hair. Everyone else just talks a lot about their opinions more then getting the facts out first. There was one talking about David Dobrik who I've never followed but know who he is. And they had facts mixed up and even said you couldn't see reviews of his pizza place. But I guess they didn't bother to see that Google Maps had a ton of them. So I appreciate that you seem to take your time and make videos that have quality.
A little tips for everyone who wanted to try new skincare or brand, I'd suggest reading the ingredient list first and trying to find harmful/dangerous ingredients (you can google it) before yoi decide to buy. And please make sure you know what your skin needs! Like actual goal, not just "glowing skin", like hydration, clean pores, less acne, less wrinkles, when you try to clear your skin problems, you'll get glowing skin as bonus. So yea, I don't think "glowing skin" is a real goal.
Honestly I used to panic when my skin broke out from a new product. But my dermatologist told me that's quite normal because the skin adjusts and ejects all the "dirt". Has to go somewhere. I was devastated for about 2 weeks then it all cleared up nicely and my skin was better than ever.
The thing about r.e.m beauty is Ariana has been working on it since like 2016 and even wore it out to events to try it she has expressed being interested into makeup for years so that part of the video annoyed me a little but anyways a lot of celebrities should not make skincare and some makeup lines are ok
I don’t think these products are anything special but that being said, it’s impossible to create products that will work for everyone. Skin is too personal, there will always be a few people that have an allergic reaction or break out. This applies to any brand, including favorites like Cerave. I don’t personally feel this is news or reason not to buy Rhodes. That being said, you can buy Korean skincare that does the same for less.

The neutrogena, olay, revlon and cetaphil….. i really really loved it
Right? Ordinary, Cetaphil, Aveeno and even Nivea. All companies that have been around for decades (with the exception of Ordinary)
I mean Cetaphil is a hospital grade skin care line. Thats what is used for patients.
@@Runner656 i mean most nivea products have fragrance in them which is known to be irritating
@@ruthmelicharles5062 hi coconut oil is just an emollient which isn’t enough to moisturize, a moisturizer needs occlusive, humectants, and emollients
@@jiwonkim9204 exactly!! 🤣
As a 10+ year licensed esthetician, I don't trust ANY celebrity/influencer skincare lines 🤷🏼♀️😒🤷🏼♀️
I'm a cosmetologist who focused on hair, but I 100% agree
Do people forget to patch test on the back of their hand or something? Alllergies are normal.
Exactly!!! 🙄

THIS!
exactly lol!!! Like you don’t just slather a new product on
I was literally in the middle of writing this comment.
I AM A FELLOW SIMMER ILY
anyone who thinks skincare is what's making all these celebrities have perfect skin has to be on some major copium. these people have access to the best doctors and procedures making everything unobtainable to the average person. people who are really into skincare know a quick skim at the ingredients list of these products are laced with fragrance, irritants and are nothing special. researching is so important when purchasing anything in this industry! i guarantee you the main ingredients found in all of these celebrity products can be found at the drug store for more than 1/2 of the cost, free of fragrance and irritants.
This!! 💯
Exactly!
Exactly! and yes, even those who technically "only use a few products" still goes to their own dermatologist and facial appointments.
I’ll never understand ppl spending hundreds of dollars on celeb skinscare when established and reputable brands like cetaphil, cerave, neutrogena or la roche posay exist at a more affordable price
Literally! Cerave has done so much for me
Exactly
period 👌🏾
Don't sleep on plain old Vaseline! I honestly think the drug store options can be better than some of the bougie lines out there, cause they don't use fragrances to justify a high price point
Wow, it’s almost like these influencers and celebrities have no education or training in skincare, and are only looking to make a quick buck off their loyal fans. Too bad we don’t have a special type of doctor who studied skincare and wanted to genuinely help patients. Such a shame.
😂😂😂
I'm not a fan of Trisha however, I honestly believe her that people were intentionally sabotaging her skin line. Multiple people came out saying they had bad reactions but couldn't even prove they actually bought the product.
I feel that this also happened to Hailey because she was at first receiving ALOT of positive reviews but this triggered Selena fans again or shippers of Selena and Justin that still sabotage Hailey to this day. And suddenly many comments said "yes it happened to me too" without any proof of buying the product, just writing a simple comment.
People are so pathetic. Not even surprised.
It's gross. They don't even put hair nets on or masks while filling their products.
Her products were actually really bad and illegal or borderline illegal 💀 not just haters
Celebrities selling you all these products with 10 different ingredients when all you need is a cleanser, moisturizer, retinol and sunscreen
say that again.
Don’t forget MOISTURIZER
And toner as well
My skin loves squalene, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid 💞💞 and I don't spend hundreds on it....I'm loving elf skincare rn... ❤️
cleanser, moisturizer, retinol and sunscreen. That's it. You actually don't "need" vit c
I dont understand why anyone would buy some (not so cheap) celebrity skincare line when you could buy Avene, La Roche Posay, Eucerin, Uriage, Isdin, Cerave or Bioderma, those brands are sooo good
La Roche Posay SAVED ME. They have such range too when it comes to products for different skin types
Bioderma is so good. I mean those brand's aren't so cheap but they're affordable and worth the price unlike the celebrities brands
Btw the only time my skin gets messed up is when I buy into the lie that I need skin care products.
I feel you. I have clear skin too but it's the dry type and the only thing I use is Nivea. It has worked wonders on my skin.
Exactly. And knowing that, she should have patch tested on a small area of skin instead of applying it all over her face…
If it's that bad, she should have had a test, not apply it directly on the face.
@@jackydoggie exactly this 👏👏👏
I think there are too many great skincare brands out there that have done the work, made quality products and earned trust from the public to make me truly interested in a celebrity skincare brand.
Proactive worked but gave me headaches
My skin does not fragrance at all
Mines with The Ordinary. 😆
Haily skin line is actually great!! The peptide cream is amazing!!!! Worth trying...
It’s basically 2023 and people still don’t realize these influencers are making skincare to strictly make money and it’s a booming industry and not because these people have a genuine interest and passion for skincare. 🙄🙄🙄 I’ll be sticking to my clinical lines thanks.
I pray for no more celeb skincare lines in 2023
I just looked on the Rhode website and the glazing fluid (of course much of the stuff is out of stock currently) says to patch test on the inside of your wrist for 24 hours prior to use.
Imagine being a 'business owner' and then saying the words 'send me receipts' as a public response LOL
🎯🎯🎯
This fall I bought the Kylie Skin body oil and then also the Kylie Skin Toner. The body oil was great for my psoriasis, the toner however. It made me break out and itch like hell.
Here the thing about skin care, just because some have reaction doesn’t mean the whole brand is trash. I had a HORRIBLE skin reaction to the beloved line The Ordinary. I absolutely hate it, but it works good for others.
I honestly really like Rhode skin, it’s been great for me 🤷🏼♀️
Let’s be honest what isn’t a mess
I hate when celebrities say oh this is what I’ve been using for years to get this perfect skin when in reality it’s they own brand and they only been working on it for 1-3 years like girl get out of here.
never trusting a celebrity's skincare line sticking to the one that i'd been using for years
I am not into celebs, and therefore, would never buy a brand just because it's attached to a celebrity.
People forget that celebs have access to expensive skin care procedures and such.
Not only that. Their nutrition plays a big part on their skin, and they have the means for the best of the best.
" lines because im famous !!!
nah my skin was so messed up a few years ago i’m not trusting anyone else other than my dermatologist 😭
The serum.. horrible, it made me break out anytime I used it.. it also has a rancid smell (but I could have possibly gotten a bad one?) it never made me look hydrated or “glazed”
Now the moisturizer I actually like and have been using for months now.. it does give a dewy look and keeps me hydrated all day!
I think that certain things don’t work for people. I’ve had bad reactions to viral products and great reactions to less known or “bad” products.
LOVE Rhode!! Products made my skin super soft 💕
As far as celebrity beauty brands go, Fenty & REM beauty are the only ones I’ll ever trust
Dont sleep on Rare Beauty. Been a lifesaver for my extremely sensitive skin. One of the three brands of concealer I can wear without getting a rash.
Rare beauty too!
As much as I love and trust Ariana, the makeup isn’t the best. 😭
rare beauty is where its at!
They are also the only ones that are good to your body unlike the others
I think that most skin care lines cater more to the person making them but they always fail to take into account extremely sensitive skin, my friends never buy skin care that isnt trusted because they wont know if its going to destroy their face if the companies had a line catered towards them thatd be great, or better yet a tester package that is cheap and has a little of all the products to know what does what
Angela Bassett has a skin care line for darker women of color that I really want to try! That price tho.. lol
Usually for products that has caused alot reactions for alot of people FDA would immediately recall all those products and investigate which ingredient or combination of the ingredients that has caused that reaction. Now Im curious what ingredients it has to cause such a bad reaction 🤔 I'll do some research about this and then update this comment once I figure something out :>
The only brand celebrity I LOVED is Fenty Skin by RIHANNA
You should stop using a product if irritation happens.
I’ve never had that happen when I began using the skin care like I use now I didn’t and still don’t have any problems
youre joking... if the prouduct gives you bloody cysts after using it you should stop using asap. people like you should stop giving people advices cause this is literally dangerous!
Your best bet is going a dermatologist.
what it boils down to, it’s literally the fact that you can be allergic to a specific ingredient in the product. it’s not anyone’s responsibility but yours to check ingredient list and decide whether it’s ok for you or not. it’s not a bad product if it breaks out few people because of allergc omg
you’re telling me someone told trisha their friend died from her skincare line? 😭
deaddd 💀💀💀
She died or her skin died?
This is what happens when you fangirl for random celebrities.
I remember half a year ago I was literally full of acne and had to go away for an exchange program so my “dermatologist” would recommend me a lot of high end stuff, however my skin ended up clearing with a niacinamide + sunscreen from the drugstore and it was only 5€ 😮💨
That’s why I don’t even try Fenty. I simply don’t trust celebrity brands.
Fenty Skin and even Kylie Skin are surprisingly fine products! And I know it’s not Skin Care but Rare Beauty is one brand that I’ve surprisingly not heard anything negative about.
Haileys skincare line is Actually very nice unlike a lot of bad skin care brands
A breakout doesnt happen overnight. The skin has a cycle. Breakouts form overtime.
Happy New year everyone 💝 let's hope 2023 is better for everyone
How can anyone take the burn girl seriously when she's using a filter? Can't even see it properly.
Ok yeah, I thought it looked a bit odd, but wasn't quite sure 100% if there was a filter or not.
I tried proactive years before and it ruined my face. It took me years before my skin cleared up.
