      I saw on trendmood recently that Vanessa Hudgens is coming out with a skincare like and people were NOT happy, as they should be. We’re all tired of celebrities coming out with cosmetics and skincare because it’s a cash grab and they know nothing. People dragged her to filth and even claimed that Vanessa is allegedly wearing makeup in the promo. It’s always the same mediocre/low quality products but at an expensive price point.

      @beckanee ปีที่แล้ว +32

      Same! On top of that, the marketing for some of their skin care regimes/results are incredibly deceiving. Most of these celebrities don't even use their own line. People forget about all of the work and money that goes into giving that "glowy" and perfected look. Especially younger fan bases. Behind the scenes they're having laser treatments, micro-dermabrasion, daily facials etc. Not to mention lighting, filters and of course genes. It can give the impression, "use my brand and your skin will look like mine." Anyone with a ton of money can create a brand. Even if it's complete crap, they are able to sell it for a fortune simply because of who they are.

      Exactly! I own a small spa with my mom In Texas and people will call us and complain about our prices being too high and one customer going as far as comparing us to massage envy! But my mom not only worked at massage envy but also called to check pricing and legit our spas pricing is lower by like 100 dollars plus they got a discount on our price so it came out to almost 200 cheaper plus you get more with both your massages and facials??? It really hurt our feelings and made us feel like what more does the public want when they even complain about our PCA treatment prices that are not only less then some larger spas but is also using the exact same product because it a literal brand you can’t post you use unless you take a class!

Not only they want to spend 1 dollar for a gloss, they want the freebies to be other products. Like all my orders are expensive to make! I design my own packaging, I package my orders delicately and with a lot of care and detail! And I give free sweets, stickers and even little product samples and discount codes for a next purchase!meanwhile they want everything extra cheap.

    This is why I would NEVER buy a celebrity or TH-camr skincare products. These people have enough money to get facials, expensive skin treatments, etc. In my opinion, it seems that they NEVER use their brand, and even if they claim that they do this is AFTER they've been getting these treatments. I'm better just with trial and error. Coming from an oily acne prone person, I've had to learn through the years what works for me. A. It's a lip treatment, not a lip gloss. People using it like a lip gloss and reapplying it frequently are using the product wrong. It has actives in it which means it's not intended to be reapplied all day long.
    B. The lip peptide treatment very clearly says a key ingredient is shea butter which actually is a nut. Babassu is technically a seed, but there is definite mixed opinions on if it could cause a reaction to those allergic to tree nuts. I have a severe anaphylactic reaction to tree nuts so I always read ingredients, Shea would have jumped out at me immediately and I would never have used that. If you have an allergy and you don't read the ingredients list, that's on you

    • @morgianasartre6709
      @morgianasartre6709 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shea butter is completely safe though. As per every source I could find at least, like the Anaphylaxis UK: "Scientific investigations have found that refined shea nut butter does not pose any known or likely allergy risk to consumers, including those with peanut or tree nut allergies.
      The US-based Food Allergy Research and Resource Programme (FARRP) conducted a thorough search of the medical literature and stated in August 2016 that that no cases of allergy to shea nut or shea nut butter had ever been reported in the medical literature."

    So Rhode is following the law by not stating the nut allergen in the packaging + in the website they have descriptions for all the ingredients used. They also have a warning in instagram suggesting to have patch tests done before the use of a product. Am I the only one who thinks ppl are hating on her because it’s trending? Not that she couldn’t do better (as a nut allergic myself I do think she should), but come on. I’m sure the known standard all time brands do these things or worse and are not called out.

    It says it uses nut oil on the website.
    We do not currently use any added ingredients that appear on the FDA's tree nut allergy list. We do use other nut and seed oils, like babassu (Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil) and cupuaçu (Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter) and work to fully convey this ingredient information through our packaging and website in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations. Additionally, our products are not manufactured in a nut-free facility so there is always the very small possibility of cross-contamination with tree nuts.

    I’m just gonna give a recommendation for a nice lip treatment: the laniege lip sleeping mask. It’s a bit of a splurge at $24, but you only need a little at a time and I’ve barely scratched the surface of the one I bought last October. Vaseline and other chapsticks don’t work for me, I put this on and my chapped lips disappear in 1-2 days. You could also wait for it to go on sale or try the mini multipack when they rerelease them for the holidays (5-6 minis for $19).

      Glad it worked for you, I had heard good stuff about this and got a sample. It feels nice on the lips but literally did nothing for me. I swear my $5 drugstore lipgloss is more moisturizing. I am so glad I didn't dish out $30 for a full size. Usually now if my lips get chapped I take that as an indication that I need to up my water intake and that cures it or else if I need immediate relief I grab my EOS.
