It always hurts me when these other people try makeup recommended by a shady influencer and they say "What did I do wrong?" It's so disheartening, I want to hug them and say 'no no, you did nothing wrong, it's those nasty influencers hyping up mid makeup for a paycheck '

I use this foundation I use a wet beauty blender and I literally can't feel it and it looks like I'm not wearing anything. I always get compliments and people always ask me where I buy my foundation. When I tell them it's a powder foundation they don't believe it.
I don’t wear makeup that often anymore, but I feel like I never felt my translucent powder on my face. It’s sort of like the nose to me…my brain can ignore it if I don’t think about it. Now if I’m sweating and/or under some direct studio lights yeah I’d feel it more but I do feel it is possible for some to not feel powder. If something feels heavy on my face it’s a cream base.

I've been saying this about Mikayla for over a year. As soon as she got "big" she 1,000% completely changed and was all about the money no matter how much she had to lie or deceive her fans.
I saw a vid of her bitching about how hard she worked that day. Something about starting at 9am, a couple of meetings, making a vid and the horrors, her day was over at 5:19pm. She was bitter on how “late” she worked. I saw that and I was like bish, I not done my 12 hour day after working one yesterday and another tomorrow!
She didn’t mind showing off her new convertible she bought. I have no pity for her “long” work day. Personally, I often think I would be sick to death of having to put so much makeup on every day…I wouldn’t last a week.

Ethics in advertising is a very big deal in the marketing world. That’s why the FTC has such strict guidelines that, according to a few lawyers now, she absolutely did not follow. She’s going to get fined one of these days. “Obviously she’s gonna lie” isn’t the standard we need to hold these rich assh*les to. They have the luxury of picking and choosing which brands to push, being a sellout is only going to end your career faster.

While makeup is a luxury, what is not is the freedom to literally lie and mislead consumers for the purposes of making money. I always loved Nikki, she seemed fun and genuine. But I have to say, lately it's been really hard to take her seriously. Everything seems so fake and it's hard to tell what she genuinely likes and what she's getting paid to say. I miss the older style fun/creative videos. Not just from Nikki, but from 'beauty gurus' in general.
The "mega makeup influencers," are paid to hock products left and right so much, nearly EVERYTHING they review in a video, is a paid partnership. There a TONS of great reviewers out there, they just don't get the mega million views nor the mega million checks.
People are calling out influencers, but honestly the companies should also be held liable for allowing their endorsed promotions to be false. Rules and regulations are wayy to loose for this type of online content.
That one fan/MUA trying out the product and asking “what did I do wrong” is EXACTLY the issue that Raw Beauty Kristi brought up: lying to customers who are just trying to find what works for them is going to make them ask what their issue is when the product doesn’t work as advertised. And 9/10 times they’re doing nothing they shouldn’t, the product just isn’t magic. And yet their fave influencer is making jump cuts and fibbing about a product just to make a couple more coins.
I remember in 2013 when I was 12/13 I’d save up to buy 1 makeup product a year and I remember being so sad when the £15 foundation influencers promised would hide my acne didn’t work. And for a while I was walking around with a green tint to my face bc I was told (again by influencers) if I put a mint green colour corrector all over under foundation would help hide acne 😅 so grateful for time, wisdom and decent influencers like Robert Welsh who taught me honestly what to be doing

And he has been warning them too about doing stuff like this and burning your bridges because once that trust is gone and people feel like they can’t believe what you say it’s gone forever. I had to unfollow Nikkie because she was an unreliable reviewer. I couldn’t tell how good the make-up was because of the filters she uses. She also would talk about how AMAZING products are… but then I look at her descriptions and see she has affiliate links. It’s a bummer, because she is talented and delightful but I can’t trust what she says. 😢
From an outside point of view (never properly watched/liked/disliked Nikki)… I have noticed the reports about her actions have been steadily becoming more negative since the huge blackmail scandal came out. She might be dealing with a lot of pressure from different places and acting weird because of it… True fans might need to hold on a bit longer. People who don’t like her needn’t care 😂

I was just getting into makeup and didn’t know much, so I was pretty salty. from that point on I only watched her for the artistry, never for recommendations. it’s not about her fans or haters, it’s about regular ass consumers being able to trust popular reviewers and not getting duped out of their money.

I usually don’t get triggered by scandals from the beauty community, Mikayla’s flipped a switch in me though. I’m not saying I am demanding an apology, but when she ignored everyone talking about the lashes and shows off that she is going to extravagant hotels and buying fancy stuff using the money that she got because her fans made her popular, it was like she was giving a middle finger to her followers. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I blocked her. Here she is again practically giving us the finger saying she’s going to keep lying.
THIS WAS THE PROBLEM. Lots of people after lashgate started with the "what's the problem with her using falsies?" The problem is people believing her, buying the products and expecting the same results. And they'll never get them, and they would start wondering *what did I do wrong* ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, it was an average or good product being portrayed as an excellent and incredible product. You'll never get the same results cause they were enhanced.
The problem is also the fact that so many influencers get called out for faking reviews and nothing seems to happen to them. Loreal loved the response of Lash Gate thanks to it being sold out currently regardless because everyone and their mother was wondering how much it works and added their two cents into the drama

She didnt need to put falsies on in the first place which is a lot of the reason people are pissed off. She exaggerated the effects for a sponsorship, but she didn't even need to. The results could've spoken for themselves
This was my experience with foundation. I did ALL the things and it still did not look glass smooth in person. I wore it twice, decided I preferred my natural skin vs seeing any texture I have being MAGNIFIED by something that’s supposed to hide it, and stuck to eyeshadow/blush. Seeing influencers now showing off makeup in different lighting is wonderful ♥️. I’m sure it helps this next generation with realistic expectations.
As someone with dry skin, powder foundations are usually a HUGE no for me. The fact that people with oily skin are experiencing what I usually experience with this product, just shows how much this product is not worth the money. And the way they are hyping up this product as something miraculous, just reinforces the distrust I have with so many online content creators.
I have it and it’s actually good. Some powder foundations can be used wet. That’s when it will look like a liquid foundation. The problem here is that people trust reviews that are used with heavy filters on because they think the makeup looks flawless. If you can’t see pores it is t flawless. It’s fake.
I love Nikki, it's her job. Don't take their reactions literally. If its a sponsored post, think of it as a commercial you'd see on TV. It's not that deep imo.

Anything maybelline has always broken my face out SO BAD so I knew instantly when seeing the videos on this product I was never going to waste my money on this product. Looks like I was one of the lucky ones to somehow know better. I even once bought a maybelline setting powder thinking it wouldn't be an issue since it was over the makeup and it STILL breaks me out after just one day of wearing it!!
I have this powder, and it's not terrible but it does NOT give the results that she's claiming. As an ex-makeup artist it really looks like she applied a cream product prior to adding the powder, which is what gave that full coverage effect, in my opinion. Powder foundation is never meant to look the way she made it look lol
Absolutely agreed. If I saw someone looking like that, I would not think they were someone I would trust for makeup advice. Even if that foundation looked like that in reality, it doesn't look GOOD. Yes, full coverage perhaps, but it looks so flat and lifeless and I expect it to crack as soon as she smiles. In person, a truly full coverage powder would be ugly and gross and feel awful on your skin. And I don't want to imagine what would happen as soon as your skin's natural oils get involved 💀
This is why I only watch Emily Noel, Zebrena, and Jen Phelps for makeup reviews. I can actually trust what they say. It blows my mind how much money some of these people make just for doing reviews. They lie, it's obvious they lie, and they still continue to rake in the money. It's BS

i don't really follow beauty influencers that often but mikayla's foundation video came up on my feed a couple weeks ago and i immediately added the powder to my shopping list. brands like maybelline cost a ridiculous amount of money where i live because of exchange rates so it was something i could barely afford. thankfully something else came up and i decided to not buy it, and now i'm so glad i didn't because that would have cost me a lot. i didn't realise how much these creators could actually influence people until now, this is wild. i thought the whole lashgate thing was a bit too exagerrated but now i'm starting to understand why...
Between NikkieTutorials and Mikayla….they’re both very dramatic. Now I know that’s just their personalities and how they are, but there’s no need to overhype and over dramatize a beauty product, plus we can tell when there’s a filter on.
I am almost a 100℅ certain that Mikayla wore the Maybelline SuperStay Liquid Foundation for the before and after. Because there's NO WAAAY powder foundation would look that flawless, even though you apply it with damp sponge.
Yeah.. and if it came down to her getting a fine or a lawsuit for false advertising, she would be like " I didn't lie! I said it was Maybelline superstay foundation!! I just didn't specify powder or liquid" or something. Compulsive liars will make up anything to not get caught it lies.
I myself use the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear liquid foundation. For a drugstore foundation, it does have really good coverage and honestly is one of the closest matches I’ve found to my skin tone. I haven’t tried the powder one, but for it to look like a layer of paint on her skin, everyone should’ve been skeptical from the beginning. Maybelline and other drugstore brands do actually have some really good products, so I don’t understand why she feels the need to lie??
See, that is the difference. I was ignoring the Maybelline powder foundation when I saw Mikayla and Nikkie Tutorials rave about it, but then Robert Welsh tried it. No unrealistic expectations, he showed it gives a simple light coverage powder that really looks good and natural when that's what you want, and that's what I wanted (I can't use anything full coverage). So I bought it, and I'm very happy with it. If I had wanted what Mikayla showed on her video, I would have felt cheated.
at the end of the day, it's much better if you try out the products yourself or find influencers/muas who you REALLY trust when it comes to reviewing: not afraid to criticize, no bias, want what's the best for viewers, and as much as possible no filters (showing the real skin texture if possible).

I have combo acne skin and I use Makeup Forever Powder Foundation but I prep my skin with my skin care then I do my eye makeup and before I do my Powder Foundation I use Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Serum and let it dry then apply with the sponge it comes with. I get super full coverage that doesn't feel heavy and doesn't look cakey or dry.
I’ve had this product for weeks and it absolutely does NOT offer this much coverage. If you have super hydrated skin prior to putting it on, I feel like a brush works best…but use sparingly. Do NOT cake it on. It offers medium to light coverage. What I feel like works best is a nice light BB or CC cream first with a damp beauty blender, then use this with a brush but do not cake it on. Idk that’s what works for me. I like it, just not solo with a damp beauty blender.
Nikkie and Glamzilla both do this too and it aggravates me. They’re both entertaining but them over exaggerating products makes me distrust them both. And Nikkie also hides behind lighting and filters so the product looks nice but in real life, it looks like shit.
It's a crying shame. I remember the old days of TH-cam, people genuinely liking and reviewing products I'd go out and buy them..95% of the time I liked them. Now? Forget it. Very few products I see on TH-cam I go out and buy. I'll never buy anything off TikTok, forget it! Nikki along with many other influencers have changed. Even if she was being honest people will always question how honest she really is. And that’s going to follow her no matter how much of an “unbothered queen” she is.
This is why I never, have never and will never trust a single social media beauty influencer on any makeup products I want to try. I go straight to online reviews from real people who don’t have any ulterior motives so I know that any good reviews that I see will be genuine.
Also the BECCA Powder that feels like water when you touch it? I ran out and cannot find it, but it gives you a gorgeous coverage without the cake look, but also not completely Matte. Favorite two are Elizabeth Arden, loose powder has a bit of a glow only on website. Second is Jeffree Star's Translucents Powder with the slight glow. That one has the coverage, I have the non glow one for under eyes with the slight bit of "correcting effect" for darkness and it really works. The other goes everywhere else. Sets the whole face with only a teeny tiny bit of sheen. Perfect if you have dry skin while at the same time giving full coverage. Also, no flashback and blurs the skin. Hope this helps.
I used a powder foundation before it is not good but when you try using it you have to wet a beauty blender then you apply it.. it will be a little better easier but not better than liquid foundation of course but you can try wetting the sponge

I feel you. The market is over saturated with products and consumers are more than ever. Alot of people do want to know, a product in one category, seems the same as the rest in that category, so is it Any different (usually because the claims say so) we need real people with texture, real descriptions of product formula, why they like and don't like the product etc. Oh and trust, there's so many people doing tutorials and fun. "Shop my Stash" might be a good place to look for these kinds of videos.
It’s so sad that her fans are out buying these products and are expecting them to be amazing. And The fact that her fans actually stood up for her when she just carried on like nothing happened is so crazy to me.

Guys if u want good and cheap powder to put on your face (either use with liquid foundation or solo) just use baby powder! Its to prevent that baby bum from getting too oily, stinky and infections! Im pasty white so I just use it to brighten my face a bit (i tried concealer but the one i like is gone from the store and its my exact color)
FYI. the MAC powder foundation is really good (I apply it with a brush using circular motions). Yes, it's a bit pricey, but if you use it with a bit of concealer it should last you quite a long time. But keep in mind that powder foundation isn't for everyone!
This is what I do. When I take interest in a product, I don’t just go buy it. I will keep watching couple of influencers who swear by it for couple of weeks to months especially skin care. They tend to use products they actually love on lives or unsponsored posts like skin care routine, get ready with me and random lives and so far it’s been working.
I bought the powder foundation, I find it's great! I put it on with a brush and I get good coverage, it lasts and it feels so nice. It works for me. 🤷♀️
Personally think Nikki would sell her soul if it meant she was getting sponsors and deals. Because it validates her. She’s always over reacted with really mediocre products. I think the beauty space now, the big wigs who get all the views etc, they’re liars. All they care about is views and likes. That’s why I now keep to the small reviews OR the OG’s that have always told it how it is.
I was looking in one of Mikayla's old comment sections. I found a comment that said "Has this one got cancelled yet?" kinda ironic. That question has gotten more and more common and needed in the world of the internet and its sad to see. Love ur vids btw.
I worked as a telemarketer, selling spectrum's awful streaming service that i hope shut down, and I've learned that if someone talks like me or my coworker talked when we were trying to make a sale, to not trust their review. I liked mikayla but started getting REALLY sus from her reviews and started avoiding products she reviewed. Edit: If I sold that "free week" of streaming to you, I'm so sorry. Like, genuinely. I ended up quitting because I couldn't stand that I was scamming people.
I hate spectrum but it’s the only internet that is in my budget and services my area. I think one other company services. Not to mention their streaming or tv deals or whatever. Bleh.
In 2020 (after the 2019 James x Tati x Jeffree x Shane drama) I turned to Nicki as the last unproblematic authentic beauty guru out there. Her positive high energy and now gone honesty were what made me love her. In recent months I've realised what a great actor she is, if you're not very into the beauty community and you saw Nicki's promotional videos for Maybeline, you would most likely belive what she does and sais is the truth. So disappointed!
You should check out Nikkia Joy! She has a very similar energy to Nikki Tutorials but she's actually honest about her opinions and rarely does sponsorships.

@@Rainielovealways If you're partnering with a brand -- whether it's a product collab or via incentives -- it's more than understandable to think a reviewer is lying about that particular brand. It's one reason why I always liked Tati because I know she never did affiliate codes (unlike Nikkie) and I don't know of any partnerships she's had. (I could be wrong?) Nikkie was one of the ones pushing Morphe and did affiliate codes with them, and a lot of people lost trust in her. Also there's a difference in "products aren't going to work for everyone" (which is true) vs. a product just being outright bad. Also sponsored posts from SM influencers always make me cringe. Even moreso for beauty or skincare because people legitimately watch for ideas of what to buy.
I'm sorry, but it feels like people forget "buyer beware". If it looks too good, if the person recommending it gushes too much... the product is a lie. I saw that vid (I'm not a subscriber) and what stood out was lack if skin texture (pores) and lack of under eye bags (you know the place where undereye connects to upper cheek) and lack of any shadows. Conclusion: it's aggressive filters and bright studio lights, not the "miracle powder". I barely even saw the partnership text, but it didn't matter, I didn't trust that "review'.

I guess Tati is the only OG influencer I can somewhat trust because she hardly ever takes sponsorships and she has nothing to lose or gain from reviewing makeup/skincare products since she no longer has a makeup brand. From the beginning she’s always been helping us save money and only recommending products she truly loves and chooses from a range of affordable to high end products.

Stop trusting people who don't know or care about you- I'm sorry but the wealthy do not care about others, it's just a dishonest hustle for them.
The only ones I listen to now are raw beauty Kristi and Robert Welsh. That's it. Robert actually didn't mind this powder, but he is super super oily... and he moisturized a ton as well because he knew it was gonna be dry. But yah.. i trust both of them because they turn down so many sponsors and will only work with companies they like and trust, and who will let them be honest. Or they just go out and buy the products themselves.

I use this foundation I use a wet beauty blender and I literally can't feel it and it looks like I'm not wearing anything. I always get compliments and people always ask me where I buy my foundation. When I tell them it's a powder foundation they don't believe it.
I don’t wear makeup that often anymore, but I feel like I never felt my translucent powder on my face. It’s sort of like the nose to me…my brain can ignore it if I don’t think about it. Now if I’m sweating and/or under some direct studio lights yeah I’d feel it more but I do feel it is possible for some to not feel powder. If something feels heavy on my face it’s a cream base.

She’s going to get fined one of these days. “Obviously she’s gonna lie” isn’t the standard we need to hold these rich assh*les to. That one fan/MUA trying out the product and asking “what did I do wrong” is EXACTLY the issue that Raw Beauty Kristi brought up: lying to customers who are just trying to find what works for them is going to make them ask what their issue is when the product doesn’t work as advertised. And 9/10 times they’re doing nothing they shouldn’t, the product just isn’t magic. And yet their fave influencer is making jump cuts and fibbing about a product just to make a couple more coins.

I remember in 2013 when I was 12/13 I’d save up to buy 1 makeup product a year and I remember being so sad when the £15 foundation influencers promised would hide my acne didn’t work. And for a while I was walking around with a green tint to my face bc I was told (again by influencers) if I put a mint green colour corrector all over under foundation would help hide acne 😅 so grateful for time, wisdom and decent influencers like Robert Welsh who taught me honestly what to be doing

I usually don’t get triggered by scandals from the beauty community, Mikayla’s flipped a switch in me though. I’m not saying I am demanding an apology, but when she ignored everyone talking about the lashes and shows off that she is going to extravagant hotels and buying fancy stuff using the money that she got because her fans made her popular, it was like she was giving a middle finger to her followers. Left a bad taste in my mouth and I blocked her. Here she is again practically giving us the finger saying she’s going to keep lying.
Can't trust a person who always moves around erratically either. It's very hard to see clearly when there's no close up, focused, and still shot.

The hype isn't even dead yet and I know a lot of people who have tried it because of lashgate but now wear it. It's a great drug store mascara tbh. The results could've spoken for themselves

This was my experience with foundation. I did ALL the things and it still did not look glass smooth in person. I wore it twice, decided I preferred my natural skin vs seeing any texture I have being MAGNIFIED by something that’s supposed to hide it, and stuck to eyeshadow/blush. Seeing influencers now showing off makeup in different lighting is wonderful ♥️. I’m sure it helps this next generation with realistic expectations.
As someone with dry skin, powder foundations are usually a HUGE no for me. The fact that people with oily skin are experiencing what I usually experience with this product, just shows how much this product is not worth the money. And the way they are hyping up this product as something miraculous, just reinforces the distrust I have with so many online content creators.
I have it and it’s actually good. Some powder foundations can be used wet. That’s when it will look like a liquid foundation. The problem here is that people trust reviews that are used with heavy filters on because they think the makeup looks flawless. If you can’t see pores it is t flawless. It’s fake.
I got the L’Oréal foundation powder to set my face and is actually good. Wouldn’t recommend to use it as an actual foundation tho

Anything maybelline has always broken my face out SO BAD so I knew instantly when seeing the videos on this product I was never going to waste my money on this product. Looks like I was one of the lucky ones to somehow know better. I even once bought a maybelline setting powder thinking it wouldn't be an issue since it was over the makeup and it STILL breaks me out after just one day of wearing it!!
I have this powder, and it's not terrible but it does NOT give the results that she's claiming. As an ex-makeup artist it really looks like she applied a cream product prior to adding the powder, which is what gave that full coverage effect, in my opinion. Powder foundation is never meant to look the way she made it look lol

Absolutely agreed. If I saw someone looking like that, I would not think they were someone I would trust for makeup advice. Even if that foundation looked like that in reality, it doesn't look GOOD. Yes, full coverage perhaps, but it looks so flat and lifeless and I expect it to crack as soon as she smiles.

i don't really follow beauty influencers that often but mikayla's foundation video came up on my feed a couple weeks ago and i immediately added the powder to my shopping list. brands like maybelline cost a ridiculous amount of money where i live because of exchange rates so it was something i could barely afford. thankfully something else came up and i decided to not buy it, and now i'm so glad i didn't because that would have cost me a lot. i didn't realise how much these creators could actually influence people until now, this is wild. i thought the whole lashgate thing was a bit too exagerrated but now i'm starting to understand why...

I am almost a 100℅ certain that Mikayla wore the Maybelline SuperStay Liquid Foundation for the before and after. Because there's NO WAAAY powder foundation would look that flawless, even though you apply it with damp sponge.
Yeah.. and if it came down to her getting a fine or a lawsuit for false advertising, she would be like " I didn't lie! I said it was Maybelline superstay foundation!! I just didn't specify powder or liquid" or something. Compulsive liars will make up anything to not get caught it lies.

I myself use the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear liquid foundation. For a drugstore foundation, it does have really good coverage and honestly is one of the closest matches I’ve found to my skin tone. I haven’t tried the powder one, but for it to look like a layer of paint on her skin, everyone should’ve been skeptical from the beginning. Maybelline and other drugstore brands do actually have some really good products, so I don’t understand why she feels the need to lie??

See, that is the difference. I was ignoring the Maybelline powder foundation when I saw Mikayla and Nikkie Tutorials rave about it, but then Robert Welsh tried it. No unrealistic expectations, he showed it gives a simple light coverage powder that really looks good and natural when that's what you want, and that's what I wanted (I can't use anything full coverage). So I bought it, and I'm very happy with it. If I had wanted what Mikayla showed on her video, I would have felt cheated.
Roberts my fave. He's one of the only ones I actually trust.
at the end of the day, it's much better if you try out the products yourself or find influencers/muas who you REALLY trust when it comes to reviewing: not afraid to criticize, no bias, want what's the best for viewers, and as much as possible no filters (showing the real skin texture if possible).

I have combo acne skin and I use Makeup Forever Powder Foundation but I prep my skin with my skin care then I do my eye makeup and before I do my Powder Foundation I use Glow Recipe Watermelon Niacinamide Serum and let it dry then apply with the sponge it comes with. I get super full coverage that doesn't feel heavy and doesn't look cakey or dry.
I’ve had this product for weeks and it absolutely does NOT offer this much coverage. If you have super hydrated skin prior to putting it on, I feel like a brush works best…but use sparingly. Do NOT cake it on. It offers medium to light coverage. What I feel like works best is a nice light BB or CC cream first with a damp beauty blender, then use this with a brush but do not cake it on. Idk that’s what works for me. I like it, just not solo with a damp beauty blender.

It's a crying shame. I remember the old days of TH-cam, people genuinely liking and reviewing products I'd go out and buy them..95% of the time I liked them. Now? Forget it. Very few products I see on TH-cam I go out and buy. I'll never buy anything off TikTok, forget it! Nikki along with many other influencers have changed. It's all about the dollar for them now, along with false advertising. Very sad. 😪

This is why I don’t follow or watch people who use filters when it comes to foundation reviews. I’m not “using filters sets unrealistic beauty standards” I’m just like “dude I want to know how this is going to look on my dry ass skin I don’t have time for this filter bs”
Even if she was being honest people will always question how honest she really is. And that’s going to follow her no matter how much of an “unbothered queen” she is.
This is why I never, have never and will never trust a single social media beauty influencer on any makeup products I want to try. I go straight to online reviews from real people who don’t have any ulterior motives so I know that any good reviews that I see will be genuine.

Also the BECCA Powder that feels like water when you touch it? I ran out and cannot find it, but it gives you a gorgeous coverage without the cake look, but also not completely Matte. Favorite two are Elizabeth Arden, loose powder has a bit of a glow only on website. Second is Jeffree Star's Translucents Powder with the slight glow. That one has the coverage, I have the non glow one for under eyes with the slight bit of "correcting effect" for darkness and it really works. The other goes everywhere else. Sets the whole face with only a teeny tiny bit of sheen. Perfect if you have dry skin while at the same time giving full coverage. Also, no flashback and blurs the skin.

I used a powder foundation before it is not good but when you try using it you have to wet a beauty blender then you apply it.. it will be a little better easier but not better than liquid foundation of course but you can try wetting the sponge

I feel you. The market is over saturated with products and consumers are more than ever. Alot of people do want to know, a product in one category, seems the same as the rest in that category, so is it Any different (usually because the claims say so) we need real people with texture, real descriptions of product formula, why they like and don't like the product etc. Oh and trust, there's so many people doing tutorials and fun. "Shop my Stash" might be a good place to look for these kinds of videos.

Guys if u want good and cheap powder to put on your face (either use with liquid foundation or solo) just use baby powder! Its to prevent that baby bum from getting too oily, stinky and infections! Im pasty white so I just use it to brighten my face a bit (i tried concealer but the one i like is gone from the store and its my exact color)
FYI. the MAC powder foundation is really good (I apply it with a brush using circular motions). Yes, it's a bit pricey, but if you use it with a bit of concealer it should last you quite a long time. But keep in mind that powder foundation isn't for everyone!

This is what I do. When I take interest in a product, I don’t just go buy it. I will keep watching couple of influencers who swear by it for couple of weeks to months especially skin care. They tend to use products they actually love on lives or unsponsored posts like skin care routine, get ready with me and random lives and so far it’s been working.
I bought the powder foundation, I find it's great! I put it on with a brush and I get good coverage, it lasts and it feels so nice. It works for me. 🤷♀️
Personally think Nikki would sell her soul if it meant she was getting sponsors and deals. Because it validates her. She’s always over reacted with really mediocre products. I think the beauty space now, the big wigs who get all the views etc, they’re liars. All they care about is views and likes. That’s why I now keep to the small reviews OR the OG’s that have always told it how it is.

I worked as a telemarketer, selling spectrum's awful streaming service that i hope shut down, and I've learned that if someone talks like me or my coworker talked when we were trying to make a sale, to not trust their review. I liked mikayla but started getting REALLY sus from her reviews and started avoiding products she reviewed.
Edit: If I sold that "free week" of streaming to you, I'm so sorry. Like, genuinely. I ended up quitting because I couldn't stand that I was scamming people.
I hate spectrum but it’s the only internet that is in my budget and services my area. I think one other company services. Not to mention their streaming or tv deals or whatever. Bleh.
In 2020 (after the 2019 James x Tati x Jeffree x Shane drama) I turned to Nicki as the last unproblematic authentic beauty guru out there. Her positive high energy and now gone honesty were what made me love her. In recent months I've realised what a great actor she is, if you're not very into the beauty community and you saw Nicki's promotional videos for Maybeline, you would most likely belive what she does and sais is the truth. So disappointed!
You should check out Nikkia Joy! She has a very similar energy to Nikki Tutorials but she's actually honest about her opinions and rarely does sponsorships.

What’s crazy to me is that at one point ppl actually held them accountable but now with this whole “fan culture” no one holds them accountable anymore. It really messes up the beauty community because now a bunch of products are being pushed that we really can’t trust will work.
I find it hilarious that all of the 'OG' beauty guru's are trying to call others out for false advertising, etc. When the vast majority of them have committed the same acts. At this point, anyone who wants to buy crap from influencers, need to do their own research; instead of running out to buy the product immediately.

Omg I got the morphe ice pallet and all of the shades were so chalky. The colors were amazing. But it was like applying ground up powdered chalk on my eyes.

@@Rainielovealways If you're partnering with a brand -- whether it's a product collab or via incentives -- it's more than understandable to think a reviewer is lying about that particular brand. It's one reason why I always liked Tati because I know she never did affiliate codes (unlike Nikkie) and I don't know of any partnerships she's had. (I could be wrong?) Nikkie was one of the ones pushing Morphe and did affiliate codes with them, and a lot of people lost trust in her. Also there's a difference in "products aren't going to work for everyone" (which is true) vs. a product just being outright bad. Also sponsored posts from SM influencers always make me cringe. Even moreso for beauty or skincare because people legitimately watch for ideas of what to buy.
I'm not defending her lying. I'm only commenting on her disclosures.

I'm sorry, but it feels like people forget "buyer beware". If it looks too good, if the person recommending it gushes too much... the product is a lie. I saw that vid (I'm not a subscriber) and what stood out was lack if skin texture (pores) and lack of under eye bags (you know the place where undereye connects to upper cheek) and lack of any shadows. Conclusion: it's aggressive filters and bright studio lights, not the "miracle powder". I barely even saw the partnership text, but it didn't matter, I didn't trust that "review'.

Try the It Cosmetics Celebration powder foundation .. it covers everything and has peptides that are good for the skin .. it is a good investment .It’s been sold for many years and is amazing on the skin ..
I guess Tati is the only OG influencer I can somewhat trust because she hardly ever takes sponsorships and she has nothing to lose or gain from reviewing makeup/skincare products since she no longer has a makeup brand. From the beginning she’s always been helping us save money and only recommending products she truly loves and chooses from a range of affordable to high end products.

The only ones I listen to now are raw beauty Kristi and Robert Welsh. That's it. Robert actually didn't mind this powder, but he is super super oily... and he moisturized a ton as well because he knew it was gonna be dry. But yah.. i trust both of them because they turn down so many sponsors and will only work with companies they like and trust, and who will let them be honest. Or they just go out and buy the products themselves.
