Ferrari did stupid in SIngapore with the strategy, fucked up a pitstop in Abu Dhabi, fucked up another one in Hungary and also their China strategy was off as well. Worst of all their qualifying blunder in Japan when they put them out on inters way too soon. In Germany they stupidly let Kimi get advantage over his teammate. Worse yet, they let him get pole in Italy, they even gave teamorders to Vettel in Brazil and USA. Off course they let Sebastian down. They gave him a terrible set-up in Monza onwards. That car was so crap it spun way too easily when it made small contact with another car. Their moral support on Sebastian was LACKING! But still, FIA made things worse and gave Vettel bullshit penalties whilst keeping eyes closed when Mercedes did something (Bottas on Vettel in Hungary, Hamilton's quallie misbehaviour in Brazil, his pitlane escapade in Germany, Bottas shoving Vandoonre of the track in Spa) We already saw it in 2017, brake-checks, holding up someone in quallie, jump-starting, they all allowed it. When Bottas made two lap 1 crashes in Spain and Baku they didn't care, but when Vettel accidentally hit him in France they gave him a penalty. Or Kimi on Hamilton in England. What a dogshit. What's also noticable is when Hamilton has backmarkers in the way those backmarkers get severe penalties but when they are holding up Vettel and ignoring blue flags they won't even investigate it.
I watched this for the first time today. I thought the battle for third itself was crazy. But then that finale between the leaders just blew my expectations! I hope the 2022 F1 regulations make it possible for cars to follow each other so closely.
Don't worry folks - F1 still makes NASCAR look boring :P I gotta say though, this is the most amazing finish I've seen. I think it's cool that Habsburg slid his wreckage across the line to finish a respectable 4th AFTER crashing into the wall.
Beena Plumber yeah agree, Plate racing is very gimmicky in terms of making a closer racing. In here we've got an obvious talent that race at the very down of the race.
Because F1 is concocted by a committee. They've turned what could be a superb format into a crippled mess which pleases desk drivers and pulls in big money, all to the detriment of the fans' enjoyment. I'd rather watch this, or even Formula E, than F1. These races are about the skills of the drivers.

F3 is not a constructor's championship, every chassi and engine is the same, driver skill and setup is what makes it. F1 on the other hand has huge gaps between the competitors in terms of performance.

I think this shows that if you would shrink down the F1 cars there could be a race in Monaco that is not completely decided by qualifying and crashes. There could be actual racing on narrow streets. Just in a car 5,7 meter long and 2 meter wide.

If you watch the angle, Cam (Don't know his full last name) looks like he got loose on corner entry and lost the back, probably corrected straight on. Hab I think had too much speed going in and ran out of track.
F1 will never be as exciting as this; F1 is basically top tier drivers who are inch perfect at what they do (most of the time); driving machines with HUGE performance gap between them. Lower tier series have and will always be more exciting than F1 because the cars are the same, highly regulated and there's this thing called budget cap. Don't get me wrong, F1 is regulated as well, but more often than not, the wealthiest team will lead by miles because they have more resources to develop their machine to perfection. The only way to get F1 to be more exciting is to follow Indy format or any of the lower tier series (touring cars, sport cars, F3, F2, etc), but then it would not be F1 as they would not be able to push the envelop.
Although the racing can sometimes be boring and watching this with like 5 cars right behind each other fighting for position is really exciting. F1 will always atleast be really interesting for its development and the races can be exciting as well

There's a tendency to look down on F2 and especially F3 compared to F1. F3 is often seen as little more than slightly faster go karts, but an F3 car is still capable of around 180 mph. That's comparable to the very fastest sports car races.

Camara and Gunther sadly went to FE instead of either staying in F2 or going to F1. I won’t recommend F2 drivers going to FE, I want them to go to F1.
