My GR nose cone instructions said to use the OEM Stock Optional license plate frame so I purchased a GR86 front license plate frame and mounted my GR Nose cone to a modified license plate frame per Japanese instructions that I translated with Google translate. So I didn’t need to do much engineering to mount the GR Nose Cone from Japan.
Interesting. 🧐 I have the factory front license plate frame brand new and its packaging. I also don’t read Japanese. I didn’t think of using Google translate to look at the instructions, so this is useful information for everyone that’s trying to mount this without having to do all the fun, jank, and time consuming stuff I had to do.
pretty interesting design. I am surprised that they dont have it span across the whole grille to make it look better. guess it could be because thats extra weight
It’s not flimsy. The build quality seems to be more than enough for the stresses it will go through. It’s just awkward to install on a bumper that it’s not meant for.
I can see how this drastically improves the image of the car in a front plate state.
I like how it looks and apparently it’s functional too. ^_^

I noticed that you are in Washington State, as am I. I was wondering if you had a shop nearby and would be able to service my Smart Fortwo.
Yes. My shop is in the Portland Oregon area. Right on the border with Washington. You can email me for a quote at SmartCarMaintenance@iCloud.com
It’s a bit ‘Ali Express’ rather than OEM; This looks so out of place on the car, which is disappointing for a TRD part. Not for me.
Thanks for your opinion. I have other product videos coming in the future. Maybe you’ll like those.
LOL @ the haters please knock it off! Looks great.
I agree that it looks great. Thing is looks are subjective.. some people don’t like it, and that’s OK.

Maybe, or it could be because on the passenger side, there is a small piece of grill that needs to be removed for the tow hook.
Dude wth...ops check it I want to know if it actually removes the hood flutter 😮
It doesn’t completely remove the flutter, but it helps.
Do you know if european plates would fit on it?
I don’t think so.
@@ToyotaGR86PerformanceCan you perhaps measure the space in between?
35cm or 13&3/4”.
@@ToyotaGR86Performance Thank you
Don't love it, don't hate it. Was it as flimsy as it looked in the video? I'm all for not adding weight but that seems a little too thin.

I appreciate this video, but not this product.
It’s ok. The product is not for everyone.
