The music and the radio chatter are really the things that make this whole series pretty much unique - just been so well done since the first one dropped ages ago
yeah the radio chatter is a major plus for immersion
Possibly the best rendition of Adagio for Strings in that opening cinematic
I wasnt aware of this franchise until i watched the trailers from HW 3. Now i am very interested in playing it, can't wait!
1 and cataclysm are great, 2 was a let down, dok was great but this well, im not a fan
id recommend going through them all. the storyline is incredible!
I would go out and buy the Remastered package they did for 1 and 2. TRUST me....I have over 300 hours in those two games alone....lol. You wont be disappointed and they will get you into this universe in amazing fashion!!!
a pointer though, you can set your ships to just attack 1 targets but the whole cluster by dragging, also remember to return your ships to the mothership for repairing
Yes plz do a full playthrough of this!!!
Homeworld is freakin amazing... it's my all time favorite space game, first space game I ever played on PC way back around 2000... it embedded itself on my soul I was hooked I still listen to the original soundtrack sometimes it helps me sleep.
If only Homeworld3 and X4 Foundation merge that would be another level.
@@gDiscovery95 - 100% facts!
Just love the Homeworld's story telling
"Almost unbeatable" lmao I remember how bad the original was about scaling AI absurdly based on the number of ships you started the mission with, had to scrap almost everything between levels. Glad you got to show this one off Raptor!
I cheated that in Homeworld 1.
Yeah, I'm not going to build a fleet... YOU, MY ENEMY, WILL BUILD MY FLEET!
(Steals almost every ship they have)
A Fully immersive VR version of this Would be Phenomenal ? Would really feel like you Are Command
I said the same thing to my friends when they released the Remastered versions of 1 & 2!! I said, I want to be just like the scene in Ender's Game! Yelling out "I have total control now!!!"
@@shawnadams1460 So Apparently they thought of this And made the Original into a Fully immersed Game for Meta ... Currently downloading it right now
seems the resource collectors are the best units ^^ with all that capturing
Turn the khar vertical works better in fights
This has been among my MOST awaited games...tied with Frostpunk 2
Frostpunk 2 might be disappointed, seems they changed the gameplay
I have a feeling an old enemy from Cataclysm might be back.
Do a play through this game is super fun
Wait, it’s released!? Oh boy oh boy oh boy
Booooo two (Ish) more days
I liked how they used the opening theme song for Platoon in this, one of my favorite pieces. Ngl, I like the background music also, very nice.
It's a classic music piece called 'Adagio for Strings' and it's been used heavily in Homeworld games and other works like Platoon.
Is that Jordon Howlett I saw in that opening cutscene?? 4:33
nice mechanic, I wonder if you can capture progenitor capital ships?😅
Just noticed the Beta-Beta-Iota-2 .. BBI 2 ... black bird interactive 2 .. nice!
Got my juices flowing.
Oh my god there is a skirmish,
Thank god.
When searching up for game modes they only talked about War Games, so I wasn't sure.
Intro music is Dj tiesto - Adagio for strings😍😍
i remember with the first game you would hold off completing a stage to get Resorces or build ships
looking good have to wait till next month skint atm.
been waiting for this game. seen so many playthroughs of the other games. can't wait to play this game😄.
Twin Cities gamers with excellent taste in games represent!
Please keep on posting about your journey on this game... a very cinematic experience
More more more I love this
can't wait for the next video 😁
damn it was like watching a movie
impressive
MASS EFFECT 4
GOOD CONFLICT
More more and more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More!!!
I'm taking Friday off of work just so that I can have 3 days to enjoy Homeworld 3 and Men Of War 2! I can't wait for release day!
I found the game audio to be really low in the video. Even after doubling the volume on my monitor wasn't enough.
Somehow I never got that idea that Homeworld is actually Cyberpunk in space. It blew my mind as I saw that intro cutscene, sadly Homeworld lore never got into any depth how the link to the mothership works. That cutscene was all I needed, and it didn't even need any words. Such a good voiceactor... it caught me off guard because she is so much better than expected! I can almost imagine what it would be like, linking your very mind with that vast sensory network of the mothership. I know this stuff from Neon Genesis Evangelion or the Armored Core games... it never seizes to amaze me. Imogen surely will never be the same person again after this journey. Expanding your perception to such gigantic levels is a tough weight to lift for a human brain.
Best RTS ever
one of the best strategy game i ever played homeworld i happy it's finally come
Im at 18:57, I want to play this game for myself!
Can't wait to watch more of this series. Remember to watch out for "subspace interference"!
94% of the problems on Star Trek are some sort of subspace interference hahaha.
The art and game play look quite good. The writing is appears fine, but less compelling than the first instalment. This might just be a good game.
Wow. Nice ship. Can we keep it? ❤
I’m really looking forward to playing this game I hope it holds up to the original game.
Gotta say, I prefer when they used ships for the profile pictures. I'm not a fan of introducing actual human characters during Homeworld gameplay.
Does anyone recognise the music sounds like saltwater - chicane
This game looks sexy.
So I wonder where the Higarans learn to speak and write in english, did they visit earth?
Didn't they also discover ships that cut through solid matter in Desers of Khrak?
I think those ships were merged into the rocks when they hyperspaced into the planet.
@@KingOfMadCows
Rewatched the cutscene, its not shown how their surroundings looked like before being discovered but during the cutscene Rachel says: "The cavity surrounding the ship is perfectly smooth. No evidence of digging..."
I'm assuming the ancient Hiigarans or whoever the ship belonged to had this tech.
H-3.
The question here is can i deliver The Emperor's justice an Exterminatus ?
why has mine not arrived yet, ive had it preordered since 2022
why does everyting look streched?
I wonder why I cant look up the voice actors
I was so looking forward to this game, even pre-ordered the collectors edition. Then they added Denuvo.
Pre-order cancelled and will just wait for them to remove it and grab it later down the line.
Good for you. It will be cracked in a couple of weeks anyway, so why bother with this Denuvo crap?
hi was it my hart will go on she was humming in the beginning video ?
💖💖💖👍💯
I so hope and pray this won't be pozzed/modern audienced
Build heaps of recon ships dont use them frustration
Too many micro managing, like you shouldn't have to micromanage extinguishing fire
The intro vid really made me miss the black and white from the original. Lost a lot of what made Homeworld Homeworld right there.
Did they fix the shitty controls from the demo, it was so bad i just uninstalled it after 15 minutes of fighting with the controls to do basic tasks.
Looks great! An boring. We'll see if they abandon it or flesh it out.
omfg did they actually stick to the source material and make a great sequel, i am flabbergasted. No SBI, no ESG no DEI, no forced message, what the hell is going on.
The cutscenes are cringe and out of place in an omeworld game. Also love how they managed to make space combat claustrophobic by reducing so much the engagement range and formation spacing that fighters constantly bump on each other. Dodged a massive bullet not preordering years ago.
Here's why I think games like this are not realistic: they fail to take into account the true state of human nature. Take the idea of flying ships for starters. Yes, it's all very futuristic to have ships flying in the air, even small "car" ships, but you never see any sky rage - two ships facing each other, both refusing to move, to go round each other, above or below each other, and with the pilots of both shouting and swearing at each other to get out of their bit of the f**king sky. Also human nature wants to make money, so they build things that will one day deliberately break so you have to go out and buy a new one. You never see a ship break down in the sky, the pilot look directly at camera and go "uh-oh," and then the ship tumble to the ground. Not in battle, just in a pure and simple breakdown. Whenever I mention these things to game developers, they (and others) simply advise me to get things that I don't already have, like a life, or lost, things of that nature. But I know I'm right. Aren't I? x
By the way, just to show off my very basic musical knowledge, that's Samuel Barber's 'Adagio for Strings' there in the background at the start - except you don't hear a single string instrument there - just a pad and a synthesized voice. Still, it makes for a very powerful rendition. x
The way combat plays out in terms of distance, movement, how fighters maneuver, how projectiles are shown and displayed in contrast to how the ships are reacting and dealing with it, the time to kill, etc is in my opinion really boring & less epic compared to HW1. Even the remake didn't do it justice because it was remade in the HW2 engine. Something just feels so mobile-like about the gameplay, instead of epic fights in space. They made sure the background objects give you a sense of scale, and then use that scale to appreciate the ships themselves but then how the fights of the ships play out is in knife range and even larger ships seem like just another fighter craft to not care about. It's like you get the impression you're in the Atlantic/Pacific Ocean for a battle (analogy) but the actual combat happens in a backyard pool. It's very compressed. It totally takes away from the scale scope of the map and how you would think a fight would happen. It almost makes the aspect of fighting in space pointless. Plus HW1 made you care about each craft to some degree but here it's just feels cheap and throwaways. Get a few pretty flashes of color for the dopamine hit. But there's no real impact to the fights like HW1 felt or even Cataclysm. From other vids, even larger ships feel arcade like, rotate and move like basically a corvette even while making you think it's huge and die relatively quickly; it's not the same kind of awe you got when building one in HW1/Cataclysm (maybe even HW2). Glad I didn't pre-order. Maybe I'm the only one that feels this way.
Another thing, since I know Rapter has played for example Nebulous: Fleet Command. In HW3 as we can see there are massive objects in the map, some you have to move around, but none of it seems really meaningful for a battle because of the battlespace compression and how fights turn out. Although Nebulous gameplay is completely different in many ways, I'm just brining it up because it's a great example of where things on the map CAN and DO matter. Like moving your ship carefully between asteroids, or even the crest of one, to pop up and shoot, to cover, etc. All this stuff in HW3 looks incredible in photos and in video but really just gets in the way and doesn't meaningfully do anything from what I've seen, at least no where to the degree it could matter. The way larger craft and capital ships move, how the AI handles their combat characteristics, the TTK, just makes that stuff basically just eye candy. But it's presented like it's more than that. It's just not. Even having a large range for a Z access, up and down (aka 3D space), feels almost pointless in HW3, even if from what I heard, there is a difference in damage from sides, rear, etc; how the game shows it, how ships handle it, feels too arcade like to care about it.
My opinion of course.
Hate the cut scenes. The draw minimal animation images were so much cooler and left more to imagination.
Launch on Steam for this game is a Shi* Show ... Getting the Edt to almost 100 Dollar and the game is still not released for us, well most of us !!!
Game is garbage. The story is 13 missions long only dragged along by bad unit controls. You could probably beat this in 4 hours if your units didn't just take off on their own without you moving them. It's so bad that they made a tutorial about how to look around with your mouse. Wargames had potential but seems to dc everyone who tries to party up. Buying the first 3 as in hw1,hw2, and sands is a better bang for your dollar than hm3 and they seem more user friendly.
Horrible release .. refunded .. look at the reviews before you buy .. HORRIBLE ratings
Jesus Christ! Is that annoying line from the mother ship to the side panel really necessary? I think developers think we are stupid, must be it. We need a day-one mod to remove that ASAP.
2:00 Do you know how to tell the dev's are woke? A female protagonist the blathers on about herself for the first ten minutes of the game. You don't need Seat Baby INC to be narcissistic.
Not for $100 hard pass.
I spent so many hours playing HW the original. I wish I had the time to play the others. I guess I'll just watch Raptor play it.
