It rained rather hard here in Oklahoma the other day. A crawfish was washed up into my apartment complex and I noticed him while walking the dog. I looked at him and expressed my pity for his situation, moved on. I was staring at my now empty aquariums and said screw it, the crawfish was screwed without intelligent intervention so I felt it wouldn't be greedy to make him a pet. He's been with me for 4 days and the little guy is hilarious. He enjoys his coconut hovel and you can watch him doing escape drills, usually from his perching rock. Watching him eat his drinking pellets is really fun as well. All in all, Odie is making for a unique pet and I'm really happy to have him.
I can only imagine some of the adventures his mother endured throughout his childhood/teen years! Shad in the freezer, crawfish in the tea pitchers, gar in the kiddie pools.....🤣
I still think some more vegetation is needed for hiding spots for the smaller animals like some aquatic grasses and cat tails around the back side, that’s just my thoughts 💭 I love all your content and everything your doing with the turtles 🐢 fish 🐠 🐟 🎣 and crawfish 🦞! Stay safe and always be awesome 😎
Everything is looking great!🦞🦞🦞 Hope the crawfish go forth and multiple like there's no tomorrow! Lilly pads are growing nicely! 🐸🐸🐸 Holy cow the minnows have been busy too! 🐟🐟🐟Thank you for sharing! Can't wait until you get the fence put up! Good luck!🐢🐢🐢
@@rachmae4180 nothing i have put into the ground has come up in 6 weeks....no sun to help either.....farmers have not gotten crops in...depressing...take care.
love your channel and what you are doing!! could not be farther from you...we are in northwest california but am absolutely fascinated by what you are accomplishing!! good work bud!!
Just a reminder that the crayfish lay alot of eggs so try not put to many in or else they will be everywhere unless you want that keep up the good work
I think you should add more local vegetation from the ponds and puddles that you get the minnows and stuff from. That'll give em more of the beneficial bacteria and other micro organisms they need. Plus, the turtles and crawfish would probably love more roots and plants to gnaw on.
My suggestion is to catch quite a few more crayfish since the ponds are pretty big for them and so there won't be much of an incest breeding among them too
Get like 10 buckets of plants from local areas. Even if the plants you’ve added are fast growing plants, you’ll need a lot to start off such a huge pond.
It just occurred to me, since the gar are going to be transferred to the gar pond, does that mean Charlie the Crawfish is going, too? Charlie leads a pretty cushy life, being hand-fed. 😊

Have you released your super lucky bluegill go in your ponds yet? The one that has survived so long?
My wife, mother of three boys, loved that stuff !
Another great addition to the ecosystem. These ponds are going to luxury living for the turtles!
How exciting to be so close to finishing up this project. I’m sure the creatures will love the new ponds
Can't wait for the gar and turtles to go in them
@Originz Fishing Nothing would happen, lol.
I'm not sure they're ready, looks like more plants are needed. Good thing the lilies are spreading, though the reeds seem absent.
@@nckhed oh look, here comes tilapia fingers.
not so soon. this guy milking his watcher by post useless shit and make em waiting for the fish released
@ someone is tilted 😊🤣
So exciting to see the pond progress and soon home to the turtles 🐢 and Gar!!
Jennysue, you are pretty as a peach🍑
Love this channel. I like the turtles and the gar but I'm looking forward to the bass!! Have a great day🌞
I like how the last crawfish tried to fight him lol "come at me bro"
Gonads much bigger than their brains. I give them props for courage, but they lose a lot of points for lack of common sense, haha!
Ha...this is what I was looking for. 😆
Lmao 🤣
@@alexisgrunden1556 very funny 🤣
i am too emotionally invested in someone else's pond
Same this is one of my fave series
because what he is doing IS AWESOME!!!
Love your amazing content! Keep it up!❤️

Need some small rocks for the crawfish now too
You were right, seeing that all got eaten by birds.
It's so cool watching how you're developing the ecosystem for the dams
Already a great little habitat! Everyone is really going to love living there!
You are creating a real life mega nature fish tank without glass walls. What ponds. Simply awesome!
I’m so excited to see the completed ponds and the final release of all the little lives into them!
Now Charlie has friends when he goes into the ponds
I love seeing the progress of the new ponds! I'd still love seeing the old pond too.

Pond looks so cool im so jealous. Maybe add some stones along the edges of the pond to act as cover for the inhabitants?
I'm enjoying your videos very much!
You're amazing The Fish Whisperer. !
I was here day 1 when you announced the pond I have never in my life been so excited for something that effects me in no way shape or form.
I cannot wait to see that happen and when you’re going to do do that and put the others in the pond? And rain is our prayers that we needed.
i will give you some of our rain...Midwest...we need sunshine.
@@rachmae4180 nothing i have put into the ground has come up in 6 weeks....no sun to help either.....farmers have not gotten crops in...depressing...take care.
Definitely keep doing this and trap other fish for the ponds also. Love the vids cant wait for gar to be in
great to see the new ponds are coming along very nicely. hope the ducklings are well
I like how u put them on the bank and not directly into the water, I like seeing them crawl in
2:20. Lol, that last one didn't want to go in. Gave bubbles, turned around and all. Freaking funny.
The ponds look so beautiful
The water is so beautiful
Cannot wait till it all comes together!!!
Our TX rain has been plentiful
I used to love catching crawdads. Seems like the older I get, the faster they get. Great video!
You have no idea how much I love the pond content, the ecosystem you're building is awesome
It’s crazy how hearty crawfish are.. they don’t even need to be acclimated to the new ponds, they just swim right in.
Duuuude so stoked to see you introduce your fish to these ponds 👍
You should add some bullfrogs! I know you added tadpoles already so you don’t have to.
There were some tadpoles a while ago, it seems they came here on their own.
Bullfrogs eat litteraly anything that they can find. It would probably destroy the ecosystem of the ponds.
@@benjaminares9812 explain more
Should add some boulders and more plants and it would look 🔥
pond looks good, pretty soon turtles. happy foryou. fun to watch crawfish.
love your channel and what you are doing!! could not be farther from you...we are in northwest california but am absolutely fascinated by what you are accomplishing!! good work bud!!
Congrats 🍾......looking awesome! It’s so incredible to watch you create a new ecosystem. 👍🏻
I use hot dogs or bologna as crawdad bait. Always works quick!
Best series on the internet rn!
I've honestly never been more excited for an update I can't wait till the ponds are done 🎉🎉🎉
It's coming along nicely! 🐟 🐢 🦀
They looked a bit out of it when the first batch was dropped on the bank. I guess the water cleared them up
Maybe oxygen deprivation or temperature sensitivity
Great video, we are big fans of your channel here in Massachusetts,.. keep it up
I’d like to see you continuing to stock crawfish for your ponds.
This pond will be full of life❤️
How exciting to see everything doing good ❤️
Just a reminder that the crayfish lay alot of eggs so try not put to many in or else they will be everywhere unless you want that keep up the good work
If he gets too many, he can get the trap out and plan a crawfish boil!
Don't forget to stock some shad! Those bass will need some native forage to keep them going as well!
Foot note to video: “No shad were harmed in the making of this movie…” LOL. Sorry, couldn’t resist! Love crayfish. Brings back childhood memories.
whoa nice transition from the local pond to yours!
Yay, more animals to the ecosystem, super cool
I wish I can have a pond like this in the future
i cant wait to go crayfishing this year, they are like those but 10 time the size. freshwater victorian crayfish are really good food
after that fence huh, im exited!
Lol the pincher was squaring up hahahaha 🤣
I visit often to check pond videos

Sure thing dude
I'm hype for it.
Yeah Tx has been getting pounded by rain, it's been nice seeing progress made though on your ponds
I’m excited 🙌❣️👏 it’s all come together so beautifully ❣️ Can’t wait to see them in there being spoiled rotten 😍
Yes! Yabbies r great man!
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO OF YOU SWIMMING IN THE PONDS!
Hello! Love your videos, keep em coming m8! Cheers!
nice crayfish haul
I love your pond vidz but it would be nice to See more structure and maybe even Rock piles to give the crawfish places to hide
0:56 So many little Charlies
Yes! Yes! More creatures!
Once a month feed the water lilies with a root tab placed in the substrate next to the plaeach plant. This will help them grow and bloow profusely.
Cant wait for the turtles, they are going to love it
We’ve been getting so much rain here in Texas. I’m over in SA. So I understand
Imagine beeing a crawfish
You smell some tasty fish and next thing you know you were relocated
I'm in San Antonio. Yeah, it's been raining a lot here, too!
Hey Kyle, you should use that trap to catch crawfish for your bass and catfish in your new ponds!
You know what could’ve been cool also dropping in Some blue crawfish before the regular ones
I love the pond videos
My suggestion is to catch quite a few more crayfish since the ponds are pretty big for them and so there won't be much of an incest breeding among them too
lol
you should order a bunch of scuds and stock the ponds for the smaller fish. they will help prevent severe algal blooms
Jimmyyyyyy
Jimmmmmyyyyyyyyyyyy
You want some crawfish buddy?
Love these videos keep it up
I cant wait for the next video
I hope none of the turtles make it over to the gar pond :P When those gar get big, anything's game!
Tank: Those gar better mind their own business and stay out of my pond or else... ☠
He is gonna put a gate/fence but who knows
@@holyblaze2582 Tank sees anything as game too only eats meat lol
Great video! I always love seeing you add life to your pond. I do wanna ask though, does taking those crawfish hurt the ecosystem in the local pond?
This is content I love
