That is stunning! I always did like the burnt technique you used in your previous pieces. This highlights perfectly how interesting the Douglas fir grain is. I love this! ❤
Thank you very much Lynn❤️🌸 What surprises me each time is the extreme resistance of the wood when you know that my flame heats up to 3000 degrees Celsius...
I just love this piece! Dark mysterious could just stare at it for hours. How many days did it take you? As always thank you for sharing your gift with us!
Thank you for another intensely beautiful piece. It looks alive. I could stare at it for hours. I love the fire/torch technique; gives it a primitive yet also a modern look.
I have been watching your videos for years. I always enjoy them and i've always admired your work. This finished piece is as fine a thing as i've ever seen. The geometricity of the concentric circles - coupled with the magnificent organic structure and cracking... it is a masterpiece. I think this is the one piece i would choose if i somehow got a Breizh Art genie wish! Well done, indeed!
Hi 👋, BAW, that turned out great looking 👀 piece of art, It reminds me of Australia artwork, stay safe, look 👀 forward to seeing your next art piece, from the moulin
Merci 😊
Now that is a very creative and unique result Morgan! I wonder what sand blasting would do versus using a stiff brush? And maybe some color (dye/stain)? 😊
Thanks Todd😉👍 with this type of wood, sandblasting is not regular and the result is average; however, the addition of a stain is possible and would even offer a beautiful effect
First, let me say that I love the addition of the comments throughout the video! I bet this is hard work! A wonderful piece! Who would have thought that wood is so resilient!😊❤. I love the reds/ golds this pulled out! You are very talented!!😊❤
Hi Racheal Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you appreciate the addition of comments 😉 It's true that the contrast is incredible in orange and black, it creates a supernatural effect in addition to the texture.
Ooooo, asking: what's he gonna do to it? Iz NO indication that one might kno.🤷♀️ Nope. Outstanding piece. Crisp 😂, mellow, sturdy, decorative, round, grained, polished, poetic and gorgeous. Cannot beat thaT. 😊🎉🎉🎉❤ ty🎶👍
I'm getting back into wood carving and drawing now that I'm retired. I respect the time and hands on effects. Really liked the layered look on the top. Pretty piece.
Morgan. Magnificent. There was no hyperbole in this video title. Extreme and extraordinary. Exactly. Have you ever tried sandblasting wood Morgan? Though a Gardener by trade, in my present incarnation I sandblast and paint ships. We often sandblast parts on pallets and the sandblasting wears away the softer wood and leaves the grain looking somewhat like this. I have bought several pallets home and one day will use the boards to make furniture. Once again, Thank you for sparking joy in my heart. Joel.
It makes me smile that you have thought to sand blast wood. It means you have seen something which I found fascinating and inspiring even though we are a world apart. @@bawbreizhartwood
That was different, nicely different. I thought it could be an alien's egg, but no, it was another superb work of art from Morgan. I've been a bit rough recently, but hoping it has eased off. Well done Morgan, regards to you and family 👍
What would that look like with a votive burning inside? Please show! It almost seems like the layers would hold together and there’s just air between the folds of char. Like it’s made of phyllo dough like some exotic wood baklava.
Мастер. Большой Мастер. Но мне кажется после выжигания можно было добавить светло-зеленой эпоксидной смолы, что бы заполнить пустоты снаружи сделанные мастером. Но Мастеру лучше знать )))
WOW!! I'm speechless! I know this, your Creator God is SO pleased with you...I know He must smile each time you use your gifts with such mastery...(Remember, HE loved working with wood when He was here 😉)

I've done the same thing with the softer bits and a rotary tool. So rewarding!!
thank you very much Jay 😉certain types of wood lend themselves more easily to this technique and the finish will depend on the type of wire brush used

Love how the Danish oil brings out the red-orange colors of the softwood, they seem to glow against the black-grey char.

Yum! cinnamon rolls
Thanks Edith 🌸
Any possibility you could try turning it with the stuff wire brush after charing it?
yes it is possible but I find that the result is better with the rotation stopped because this allows you to better control the direction of brushing
♥️♥️♥️
😊
I love that look. Shou sugi ban technique i believe it's called.
Donald😉
Yes, that's right, it's an ancestral Japanese technique used to make wood more resistant and today also used to create decorative effects.
@@bawbreizhartwood I love the effect. I have used this technique on some birdhouses I made.
