I thought you must have made the hole first, then glued a series of heavier weights inside as more material came off the outside, but you just held on and flew it through the storm. Amazing. Impressive. Beautiful.
Love how you incorporated the cracks in the wood to be an integral part of the piece. I was creating a story in my mind as you were working so I guess you can add storyteller to your résumé.

Awesome work! Absolutely beautiful. I'm going to try this. I've got a big square block of maple with some big checks. But I'm going to use resin to fill those and not use the torch. Although I do love the contrast blackening gives the piece, I really shouldn't play with fire.
