  • In this episode of Backcountry College, we'll set up my canvas tarp into a hammock, but the real focus will be on the different knots we'll use to do it. We will learn to tie a bowline knot, truckers hitch, sheet bend, clove hitch, and taut line hitch.

The way that yo explain things ( like these knots ) is so straight forward. Most youtubers take so long to explain something that it becomes more about them than the information being shared. Thank you for sharing in a way that I can understand.

One a week... Man, I'd have to quit my day job. Would be fun though.

We wouldn't want that, but keep up the good work on the videos as time allows. They are really well done. Super helpful for those of us who aren't eagle scouts.

Clay, you make my day every time I see a new video come up. These are awesome videos because they teach the newbies in terms they can understand real easy, and they are also great refresher lessons for the some of us who've done it before, but a long time ago. I'll have a hard time waiting for the next one, as usual. Thanks brother, and keep 'em coming!

Your videos are really helpful. I've seen that tarp in several of your videos and would like to get one like it. Can you tell me the type/brand of the tarp? Thanks!

Genetically Modified This one is just made of a mid weight canvas. Easy to make if you've got a sewing machine.
