If a police department wants to swat a house then they should need a no knock warrant approval from a judge not a random phone call...

What's wild about this mission is that it actually really is a fake SWAT call. The mother is fine and in the other apartment, and the third apartment is Michael's crypto mining operation that funds several drug gangs.

This mission is so hardcore. Really forces you to stay on your toes. Not sure if you know but there's a contextual shortcut (Z by default IIRC) for the most common orders like stack up, open and clear, etc. You'd have to re-enable the HUD to know what it will trigger though.

I was so scared! I knew I would take a few shots. Usually, nbd, but in Ironman all it would take is one to the face and boom hours of work+content over.
I'm not looking forward to traversing that balcony. Nice place to get murked. The psych stuff looks very interesting, too. VOID have come up with some great features, imo.
Hey brother I highly recommend using voice attack to use voice to command your team. Much more seamless and you can set it up to be whatever phrase you want. It’ll take a little bit to set up the commands (right now I have like 50) but once it’s set it’s amazing.
It's far from perfect, but 1.0 is a sizeable improvement and step forward! Loving the new missions and narrative. Once we get past a few of the minor bugs (not being able to loadout teammates from presets, clipping and most recently a shot out window that flashbangs bounced off of) it'll get even better! Also, being able to order suspects to come to you is GREAT. Used it many times in this mission.

I had so much trouble with this mission. Second floor “crypto farm” was packed with hostiles, and the main suspect room was super tricky since the kitchen area was on the right and the suspect’s room was in the left. Luckily, it seemed like it was pretty smooth sailing for your run in comparison to my 7-8 fails.
Yeah I find this mission really hard. On this mission I found entering the crypto farm from the exterior first being the best bet. Wedging the door that leads to the atrium from the farm helps secure it, then going back out and up the fire escape to clear top down. made it a lot easier for me
I screwed up by not bringing a flashlight or NVGs to Twisted Nerve. Imagine sending your squad ahead of you the whole mission to be canaries, and only using glowsticks.
Just beat it and it was very intense. There were less enemies packed into single spaces like in 22MBAS but the atmosphere and ambience of the level made you feel like you were constantly in danger. It's some amazing stuff.
I have to say the streamer setup mechanics pretty cool. I think we've all played video games like this before where we all see something like that and we all say Man I wish this or that would happen in interaction. And they actually incorporated it into this game. Which is really cool
Imagine if in the planning screen you could give orders there like you could in old school rainbow six. You could plan it out, all your breach’s and stuff and then just go along.
and yeah that would be awesome. It was one of my favorite features about the old R6 games. Following a plan's path and breach rooms along with the AI from multiple entries never gets old
Me and my buddy played this map. For some reason he had armor, but I could only equip an anti stab vest. I now associate this map with pain and suffering, and the realization that i need better tactics haha. Also my first reaction was also to shoot that streamer's camera
This mission has got to be my favorite so far. The layout is challenging and requires alot of awareness and the streamer’s apartment is an easter egg goldmine.
I highly recommend the 40mm flash bangs the ability to easily flash deep while the team flash the immediate is really helpful and should bag you more arrests.
You had an operator with the trait "Paramedic" with you on the mission, which means a "dead" buddy is just incapacitated instead of actually dead. At least that's what the squad overview said before the mission...
Great video but I noticed during your planning that you ignored the lower floor (rooms 11/12/13) even though the suspect had access to room 13, and you only went to clear the top floor with rooms 14/15/16 and assumed all were threats even though 16 was reportedly barricaded, so a planing mistake probably lost you one of your operators life, great video and besides the planning hiccup good execution
I just played this mission for the first time an hour ago and it's so much fun to compare your run to my own! I've been binging your door kickers runs over the last years and learned so much from your explanations. It got me into learning more about proper CQB and it's Soo much fun to apply it in RoN! Looking forward to "play along" the next missions with you!
Bit mind-blowing how off the intel is on the area and situation in this mission (particularly if they said they had evacuated neighbors). Feel like the intel group would have picked up on how many enemies there actually were given how spread out everyone is around the apt building. Love what they've done with the entire update though and can't wait to play these missions myself!
This mission is so brutal, you go in expecting one and end up getting ambushed by multiple armed dudes. I lost one on this map too, so many angles to get ambushed from.
Hey controlled pairs! Great vid!I will say what helped me manage this mission was gas and a shield. I really only used gas for the streamers apartment which really stunned everyone. I also stacked on the right (idk if it makes a difference). I didn’t have to shoot the streamer and all the suspects were neutralized or arrested without injury. This was after multiple attempts though😅
My biggest complaint is that simple mods like changing the optics negates your scores on commander mode. I just want to use better rifle and pistol optics 😅 I’m not trying to put on any game breaking mods
This is an amazing update that I’ve been wait for for a long time. But does it feel like the suspect ai has gotten worse? I mean I feel like I’ve been getting beamed in the skull at every corner I peak
this update is so good, with all of the new maps and things, its beautiful. the ai commands are probably my favorite. for me, the provide so much help with the mission. they also updated the movement of the ai with different standings when breaching and searching a room, and so they move out of the way when you try to step by.
VOID really showed up with this update. Not only quality of life by the truck load but the AI overhaul, and the quality of maps, lighting, everything! I'm doing Normal right now, but I can't wait to take on Ironman mode and that's not normally a mode that interests me.

The streamer owned 1 apartment on the second floor, not all three on the third. Sweeping and clearing that lower one might’ve helped with not getting shot in the atrium.
As a swede I just need to mention this; FISA means farting in swedish xD That made me chuckle a bit. I swear I'm not trying to ruin the atmosphere ^_^ But yeah! Great update! I'm having a blast so far :) I don't play much PvE, so they actually taking their time to implement a solid experience for solo players is very admirable. I approve!
If you press the "Z" key (if you have it bound correctly. It basically is a quick action for the team that is currently free. Eg I would set Blue to cover in one area. And then to clear the rooms around this area I would use the z command (which in this case would only use Red team) this allows for quicker action and clearing when needed. I would recommend you play around with it as it could help in some cases and it bypasses a lot of the faffing with the Menu system. You can also use this "Z" key to get the AI to handcuffs people and so on. P.S. really good videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge on tactics, very interesting.
You going up the fire exit and not checking the open door to the right on the 2nd floor was a butt puckering moment as I've been shot on multiple occasions making that same mistake. also you muzzle tapping the mother while the downed suspect ragdoll glitches in the corner is sending me

Using the AI Controls is definitely a skill within itself. I have terrible internet so have been playing RON Solo for 2 years and have learned how to asses a situation or door before we fully get to it and have a plan set up. You also just have to learn to read between the lines a bit for their controls so you can have them plate apposing doorways or to swing opposite from you at a T intersection . Still figuring out some stuff with the 1.0 release, but for the most part I can run a very smooth almost completely dynamic run through with just the AI. Also playing the first mission yesterday, I got and nailed a hostage shot during a dynamic entry.
I cannot for the life of me complete this mission without losing a guy. I went into a room while breaching with c2, banging twice(teamember and me) and one of my bois still tried catching some lead with his face. He god incapacitated and he's still content so I guess he didn't get shot in his balls at least, that or they bounced all fire off on account of being made of steel. Also the map lies, it says all apartaments are connected but they are not.
I think the only complaint I have of the game, not even really a complaint but more of a suggestion; I wish we had the command bar like in SWAT 4 where you can scroll with your mouse to an option.
The only things ive seen negative about this update is - A.I still behave like soldiers and willing to most commonly start a gunfight instead of forcing negotiation or surrendering. - Scenario make absolutely no sense with the A.I behavior. - Cut content. 60% of the game has been cut for narrative. Meaning mutli playthroughs with different scenarios in the same level are gone. Overall not a bad update but i still think it needs work.
Imagine if we can use voice commands to just verbally command the AI, that would be an awesome addition and might circumvent some of the clunkiness of navigating the command menu.
0:12 Clumsy AI inputs. I think I have a solution for that. When I played SWAT 4 back in the day I used 3rd party shareware to create voice macros for campaign playthroughs. So if for example, I recorded my voice in the software to recognise "Red, Split stack" command to macro key presses 2 1 (or whatever the actual combo) I can just issue commands into my mic and focus on on movement etc. Truth be told, it kinda adds to the immersion when you say it and your team react and do it, instead of have to memorise a menu navigation system. I'm buying this later today so I'll be setting one up myself once I see the AI menus.
Good luck when you get further along. Took me 3 hours last night to beat Brisa Cove once without dying. The enemy AI gets progressively more AIMBOTY as you play it seems, to the point its hyper unrealistic and not fun. Love the game but it still needs some patches. Also has anyone seen the "trailer" units yet?
Maybe it's just me, but I find the sudden camera view changes jarring and am not really a fan. Having said that, LOVING this series and looking forward to more!
The Streamer's PC is one of the Soft Objectives and his nightstand is another. These two will come around in a later Mission. The third soft objective is reporting the Mining operation
I loathed this mission for what they did to it. It should have just been the streamer and the civilians as well as a trigger that says "is it real or not" so you have to move in to find out with a 50/50 chance of it being a swatting where over-eagerness gets punished severely. While I get what they were trying to do (set up the rest of the data plot), it took away from this mission.
Loving this new update to a point, the new ai, animations and missions are great. However the whole stress thing is just ridiculous. I’m literally having highly trained swat guys going off with stress or resigning after a few raids, even without getting injured. Surely these guys are assessed before they are even recruited to swat that they can cope with the job. Rather than making me care for my team, it’s actually had the opposite effect of making me now just using them as cannon fodder as they are only gonna resign and go after a few missions anyway. Who cares what skills they have, won’t be around long enough to make a difference.
Getting headbanged through walls by AI I haven't even seen yet is getting a bit old. Seems to be worse on specific maps (Post Office, Hotel, College) but it's super irritating to have your armor do nothing.
Yep, I had to quit playing tonight after attempting to do Ides of March for the 30th time in one night. I remember EA AI being tough. But these guys are like psychic and often kill me before I'm even visible to them.
It was suicide by cop basically as his mother was still alive not sure how the gang running the bitcoin farm plays into it but yeah the hooker looking character you find in the bathroom by the floor vent is his mother 😂
So glad I didn't Ironman this first go around. Legit thought it'd just be a quick hike to the third floor to bust the dude in his apartment and got absolutely toasted by the guards all over the place
When you play Ides Of March be carefull as fuck or you are dead dead same with your whole swat ai team cuz there are traps everywhere and suspect ai has navy seal training I finished that map on like 20th try
Same dude. Got spotted through walls, wallbanged many times, got rushed without being spotted, died to traps once or twice because after the 7-8th playthrough checking every single door becomes a little irritating. The fact that you have to accept the losses of every mission instead of being able to restart, the bugs that are scattered throughout and that you even have to get 3 suspects alive made Brisa Cove a map I struggled with far more than the other ones, and I was only able to finish it after the 10-12th playthrough or so. Not even because of skill issues (most of the time at least) Also, at least for me, the entrance point selection doesn't work for Brisa Cove. I can select fire exit or residents' staircase, but spawn in at the fire exit every time regardless Overall the update is great though, just struggled with this map in particular and all the bugs (also AI seems to have superhuman crackhead reflexes, eyesight, hearing, aim and confidence now)

I made it through 2 injuries, and my team killed Michael so I failed to arrest him. But mission was successful. No idea how to get him alive.

Twisted Nerve will be brutal. Bring your best A game. The attic, the caves, and the complex geometry will be incredibly tough.

The trait wasn't unlocked yet, only one of his guys traits was unlocked and that was negotiator

It's really cool that the AI now acts more autonomously and doesn't have to be instructed to secure weapons and/or individuals.

I love the new update that came out for ready or not but my computer can no longer or just barely hold out to play it, btw great video and keep up the good work!

Using the AI Controls is definitely a skill within itself. I have terrible internet so have been playing RON Solo for 2 years and have learned how to asses a situation or door before we fully get to it and have a plan set up. You also just have to learn to read between the lines a bit for their controls so you can have them plate apposing doorways or to swing opposite from you at a T intersection . Still figuring out some stuff with the 1.0 release, but for the most part I can run a very smooth almost completely dynamic run through with just the AI. Also playing the first mission yesterday, I got and nailed a hostage shot during a dynamic entry.
I love how you show the outside view of how the AI works, really makes watching so much more immersive

As someone who qualified for SWAT, but never actually applied for the team (thanks, Obama), this gameplay is awesome. Very realistic.
I cannot for the life of me complete this mission without losing a guy. I went into a room while breaching with c2, banging twice(teamember and me) and one of my bois still tried catching some lead with his face. He god incapacitated and he's still content so I guess he didn't get shot in his balls at least, that or they bounced all fire off on account of being made of steel. Also the map lies, it says all apartaments are connected but they are not.
I think the only complaint I have of the game, not even really a complaint but more of a suggestion; I wish we had the command bar like in SWAT 4 where you can scroll with your mouse to an option.

I'm absolutely loving this mode! I love the videos for this, I'm so happy you're covering it. Keep it up CPG!
The only things ive seen negative about this update is
- A.I still behave like soldiers and willing to most commonly start a gunfight instead of forcing negotiation or surrendering.
- Scenario make absolutely no sense with the A.I behavior.
- Cut content. 60% of the game has been cut for narrative. Meaning mutli playthroughs with different scenarios in the same level are gone.
Overall not a bad update but i still think it needs work.
Imagine if we can use voice commands to just verbally command the AI, that would be an awesome addition and might circumvent some of the clunkiness of navigating the command menu.

When I played SWAT 4 back in the day I used 3rd party shareware to create voice macros for campaign playthroughs. So if for example, I recorded my voice in the software to recognise "Red, Split stack" command to macro key presses 2 1 (or whatever the actual combo) I can just issue commands into my mic and focus on on movement etc. Truth be told, it kinda adds to the immersion when you say it and your team react and do it, instead of have to memorise a menu navigation system.
I'm buying this later today so I'll be setting one up myself once I see the AI menus.
There's actually a mod for this already.

Good luck when you get further along. Took me 3 hours last night to beat Brisa Cove once without dying. The enemy AI gets progressively more AIMBOTY as you play it seems, to the point its hyper unrealistic and not fun. Love the game but it still needs some patches. Also has anyone seen the "trailer" units yet?
I honestly hate the new enemy AI overhaul too. Ruining the game for me.
I downloaded the "No crack for AI" mod and this helped significantly@@thebarbaryghostsf

I loathed this mission for what they did to it. It should have just been the streamer and the civilians as well as a trigger that says "is it real or not" so you have to move in to find out with a 50/50 chance of it being a swatting where over-eagerness gets punished severely. While I get what they were trying to do (set up the rest of the data plot), it took away from this mission.

Loving this new update to a point, the new ai, animations and missions are great.
However the whole stress thing is just ridiculous. I’m literally having highly trained swat guys going off with stress or resigning after a few raids, even without getting injured. Surely these guys are assessed before they are even recruited to swat that they can cope with the job.
Rather than making me care for my team, it’s actually had the opposite effect of making me now just using them as cannon fodder as they are only gonna resign and go after a few missions anyway. Who cares what skills they have, won’t be around long enough to make a difference.
I heard someone say you can increase the morale of your teammates by completing some simple mission levels, I don’t know if it is true.😉

Getting headbanged through walls by AI I haven't even seen yet is getting a bit old. Seems to be worse on specific maps (Post Office, Hotel, College) but it's super irritating to have your armor do nothing.
Yep, I had to quit playing tonight after attempting to do Ides of March for the 30th time in one night. I remember EA AI being tough. But these guys are like psychic and often kill me before I'm even visible to them.

The enemy AI still needs some tweaking, very twitchy/floaty movement. Other than that update 1.0 is solid 9/10
It was suicide by cop basically as his mother was still alive not sure how the gang running the bitcoin farm plays into it but yeah the hooker looking character you find in the bathroom by the floor vent is his mother 😂

When you play Ides Of March be carefull as fuck or you are dead dead same with your whole swat ai team cuz there are traps everywhere and suspect ai has navy seal training I finished that map on like 20th try
Same dude. Got spotted through walls, wallbanged many times, got rushed without being spotted, died to traps once or twice because after the 7-8th playthrough checking every single door becomes a little irritating. The fact that you have to accept the losses of every mission instead of being able to restart, the bugs that are scattered throughout and that you even have to get 3 suspects alive made Brisa Cove a map I struggled with far more than the other ones, and I was only able to finish it after the 10-12th playthrough or so. Not even because of skill issues (most of the time at least)
Also, at least for me, the entrance point selection doesn't work for Brisa Cove. I can select fire exit or residents' staircase, but spawn in at the fire exit every time regardless
Overall the update is great though, just struggled with this map in particular and all the bugs (also AI seems to have superhuman crackhead reflexes, eyesight, hearing, aim and confidence now)
