Big day, my bros. This is the first mission in Commander Mode. My intent was to start an Ironman Save and make this a series. Unfortunately, I selected 'New Game' rather than Single Player>New Game> Ironman. So alas, this video is actually a normal Commander mission. I will however be starting the Ironman mode tonight and picking up on mission 2.

It's been fantastic
Yeah first time playing and they're 100% more competent than I am (I shouldn't be their commander). Really cool to see 'em pie doorways and gradually clear rooms and hallways together. There are a few hiccups, but most are due to me not used to this level of tactical gameplay.

@@2hotflavored666 Unoptimized, lack of promised features like co-op and being able to watch AI complete missions, lifeless pointless hub, taking away mission variety from every level, terrible buggy friendly AI, overtuned John Wick suspect AI that can instantly one tap you through walls or the tiniest gaps in poorly designed levels and various other bugs. A rushed out product that under delivers is not a high bar.

@@Blank55600 its very good. Although I keep failing because of skill issue. New maps include: a college campus, apartment Block (the Streamer map), some Kind of cave map and a couple of more I think

@@Botschkin Hm.. Seems they might have done a compromise for the school map using the collage campus. Especially since it'd much likely not pass steams rating board. Nonetheless I'm downloading the update tonight.
And Don't worry about skill issue. Treat it like a RTS, but instead of a drone view, you're there in the thick of it. Take your time.
@Blank55600 I believe there are 6 new maps and 2 or 3 reworked ones (the reworked ones being the car dealership, farm, and some other I don't remember). It's pretty great but especially on the new farm map there are some visual bugs but nothing gamebreaking.

Couldn’t be happier for them. I spent the $150 in 2019 for the pre pre alpha. You’ll be seeing “Thedarkdade” in the game credits. So proud of the devs and for standing der ground.

Fr I think I first time I saw this game ever was pre Covid in or just the beginning of it. It’s been a long time coming and I wish I had a pc to play it but just makes me want to get one so much more now

When they said they added 18,000+ voice lines, me and several others were like "hahaha, yeah sure there is..." But, after playing it today, I totally believe that now!
It's insane how this game evolved. I remember that old pvp matches years ago with nothing in common with swat 4. Happy that they could reverse that situation.
That cardboard cutout got me at the start I was thinking that dude is super dumb to be standing there while his friend is on his knees. 😅
16:01 that dynamic movement felt so good. It felt like you could really trust him to be covering those angles so you could look another direction. Please do more of this

Launch day was actually 2am on a thursday for me. Needless to say, I did not regret losing sleep just to play this for a measly couple of hours before I had to immediately rush to the office and I look forward to playing it again as soon as I arrive home later today. Void did a marvelous job with the swat AI. It is everything I have wished for ever since I started playing Raven Shield as a kid decades ago.
I wish you had dived deeper into the attributes for the officers, looking forward to see how much those affect the gameplay!
Looks like you have to unlock a lot of their stuff.
It's still super buggy also so there's that.

@@Tavis15ify it's really strange because I encountered nothing game breaking but some people are seeing all sorts of weird stuff. I wiped mods and did a fresh install so maybe that had something to do with it.

It really seems from looking at the discord and chatting with some people that for 50% it's utterly flawless and the other 50% are running into all kids of issues and bugs.
Hopefully it'll be a quick fix for this issue but hey, who knows.
Guess it's time to sit back and wait for 6DIF update and see if that's any smoother of an update, which I think it will be.
I finished the first mission, it was good. They changed the voice actors as well.

Love your gameplay. The AI in my level shoot through walls and fake surrender, pulling knives on my officers. Brutal and unpredictable. The second level was nuts too.
This looks amazing! I've been waiting for a game like this since the old days of rainbow six and ghost recon. The briefing screens are so nostalgic lol.
Playing this campaign on iron mode. It answers the IRL question real fast of, "Why didn't you just shoot him in the leg."
That mule kick to the door was beautifully animated!
One thing I noticed before, which seems to be the case still hard to tell, is being able to tell who red is vs blue lol. Itd be nice if they had an indicator on them, maybe an option to turn off an on. Like red and blue patches on the back of the headgear or something.
Othwrwise, looking forward to playing it tonight. I havent played in a while.

You can enable small unintrusive name tags above their heads that will be red/blue according to their team color. I also gave team red tan outfits and team blue black ones.

I'll be honest I just gave Blue & Red different T-shirt and equipment color. That way I can instantly tell them apart. Some sort of optional patch or light indicator would be neat tho
You can bring up your team cam by hitting T and it shows you which team cam it is. That is how I separate the two. I also changed their clothes or gear to differentiate between them quicker.
There are a few QoL things that if void could patch in by the next update it would be great: first things first it would be great to have the character automatically return to low ready or high ready when you release the ADS button like in ground branch cause it kinda gets tedious after a while where you have to press anything to return to high/low ready, after that it would be adding a dark mode for the apps on your chest rig tablet cause every time you open it you’ll get flash banged and lastly even though the police station is a great area to roam around it’d be cool to have the option to load into a campaign mission straight from the main menu but return to the police station for evaluation after each mission
i was waiting on this one and now that they have a real campaign with stakes I am sold. I loved SWAT 4 and this really feels like the game we all would want as a SWAT 5.

Definitely keep going with the series! I'm a big fan of these types of games since the OG Rainbow Six and SWAT series, but I play mostly SP. Have been waiting to see this kind of SP/Campaign content to decide if it's worth pulling the trigger on. Btw, found your channel through DK2 content, which I love cause it scratches that itch from the planning mode of the first R6 games. Naturally, when I found the mod Nexus for it first thing I did was download the R6 squad :D
I really like the next mission when you SWAT the streamers house lol - except it's actually a legit SWATing.

Also experienced nostalgia of me, as a kid in 2004 first reading about SWAT 4 in the magazine, much later be able to play it myself. I poured a lot of hours in this game.
Definitely will buy Ready or not for holidays as a gift to myself. Sorry that not through your website - here in Russia it's really hard to pay in western part of internet now.

Did you notice the dead civilian in the restaurant next to the dog is labelled as "Deceased veteran"? His CCW is next to him. Poor guy clearly tried his best.
My run ended on mission 3 when I got one shot in the head whilst ascending some stairs. Shows how easily it can all go wrong!
I have heard about this game a lot before and kinda knew what it was but never bothered to look into it before release, looks really cool!

I love the casual conversation between operators. It truly feels like your close to those guys, i would dread playing the game and losing one 🫡 props to the dev team they really went all out.
It's punishing and it affects the morale of your team. But to me directly, it's not as bad as losing an X-Com soldier you maxed out during a whole campaign.
(Probably for the best cuz shit still hurts after years)

Just a note there is a muzzle up option now also not sure if you can do both muzzle down and up or if you have to pick in the settings or something
Nice! I use mouse wheel for muzzle which makes command+muzzle tough
Yes I think you can bind both separately in the settings. So have both usable on different keys. (I just use high ready on space bar, which is default).

1070, i7 7700K 24GB ram installed on M2. Thing was 1600$ back in 2017 so I'd assume you'd have to at least spend 1300 to get the game to run as intended.

I have 3060 ti, 32 GB RAM, i7-12700F paired with a 1080p monitor and I still get awful stuttering on high graphics

I'm so impressed and even more so PROUD of the devs. The SWAT AI feel so real instead of being mindless computers with human bodies that follow you because a program says so. The voice lines, movement and overall tactics like holding their gun on a door when moving is such wonderful details. The issue of Suspect AI being unrealistic in some cases and also having Aimbot later on in the harder levels is still here, but I'm certain the devs will really feel the wonderful emotion that is progress and feedback from a happy community and use it to work hard on the game for very long.

Watching this reminds me so much of Socom. I just googled and found out you can use voice commands with the game too. Once my backlog is cleared up, I'm definitely gonna pick this up.

I got the game last year and never really played it. Started commander mode yesterday and really like it! Just need to figure out how to keep my team from getting anxious and/or stressed.

IDK if you saw but you should look at the unlock requirements for the Gold watch in the character customizations since you're already doing the Ironman run
I’m very glad the taser was moved to a different slot so you can have both a taser and a handgun.
My squad on ironman got so anxious after gas station and their anxiousness developed fps drops as aside effect.
Lots of good stuff about the update, currently though the AI will often get themselves killed in an attempt to auto secure suspects, walking into the open to do so
Best thing about this update is the vending machine in the briefing room.

This game is absolutely incredible now. It really seems that, at last, we have a true successor to SWAT4.
Sad that the supressed 300 BO isnt silent as it is in real life. One of the only workable calibers that can also be "hollywood quiet"

it's the most fun ive had in a long time with single player games. There are some holes that develop in the AI's abilities and I feel that at a certain point pushing with the AI's is just the ideal way to score high and it's an easy way to get complacent with the game in single player mode. I think the real fun is with friends though who know what to do since single player at a certain point feels too mico manage-y

If you press the "Z" key (if you have it bound correctly. It basically is a quick action for the team that is currently free. Eg I would set Blue to cover in one area. And then to clear the rooms around this area I would use the z command (which in this case would only use Red team) this allows for quicker action and clearing when needed.
I would recommend you play around with it as it could help in some cases and it bypasses a lot of the faffing with the Menu system. You can also use this "Z" key to get the AI to handcuffs people and so on.

As someone who grew up with swat 4, I absolutely love Ready or not, the atmosphere, sound design, immersion, everything is so perfect, the AI is incredibly intelligent and reliable for everything, I feel extremely connected to them and responsible for them when they get injured or incapacitated
Dude ironman campaign sounds like a good idea
think it would be great if you could have a rotation of officers like in doorkickers 2 where you have a whole unit, but just tone it down to 6 or 8 officers in total that you can swap in or out to replace dead guys or give stressed officers a break

Ready or not 1.0 has been incredible for me so far. The devs have put the bar incredibly high for a indie game.
I do this in real life and I gotta say I’m impressed how accurate this is. The team actually has brains and flows like a real team and not just idiots waiting to get shot

It's been great! There are definitely a few minor bugs currently, but nothing too major. I played pretty well all the way through until Mindjot. Damn, I hate that map. Took me like 12 tries. Finally got through it and now I'm ready for bed. What an upgrade though.
Only had time to play through the same mission as you, but it feels great.
It will take time to get to grips with the new AI controls, but it really feels like you have much better control over the AI squad.
My only complaint so far is that they do a little bit too much! Like leave something for me, boys! 😂
In all seriousness, I imagine that will push the player to get more directly involved with each action.
