If this hadn't worked, the movie wouldn't have worked. I've got to hand it to Jason Reitman for betting it all in on this effect. It was magic. Absolutely brilliant.
I don’t know what made me cry harder. Finally seeing Egon help bust Gozer or the embrace with his daughter. Rest in Peace Harold. Egon, but never forgotten.
For me obviously I cried as soon as I saw his hand on the thrower but him hugging Callie made me bawl my eyes out. It was like him saying goodbye to all of us in a way
When I saw him help Phoebe and he was standing with her next to the ogs, passing his torch to her as the new brains of the team made me cry so much 😭 they did a spectacular job
Yeah, she was really well cast. A skilled actress, and without even knowing her character's connection to Egon, I could see the resemblance in my first look at her.
I appreciate how much work went into making Harold Ramis was genuinely part of the movie. And I really appreciated how he never talked during it. There was no disrespect for him as a person, or his character. Imo it was flawless.
I knew there would be a CGI egon in the movie and was nervous about how it would turn out, but it was perfect, I cried like a little girl. RIP Harold 💙
Also, the unsung hero for making this movie work wasn’t even in this movie. Harold Ramis’s daughter for giving her blessings to use his image. She understood the assignment.

@@jamespuglisi5525yeah they did have someone come in for when Egon would physically touch something, it was that actor! When i originally watched this movie I was so overwhelmed with emotions. Amazing dedication to the late great Harold Ramis and i wonder if Egons character will ever make an appearance in the new upcoming movie. I have so many memories watching the ghostbuster movies- the original ones by the late great Ivan Reitman. I’m sure he would be very proud of his son Jason Reitman carrying on with the original movie that his father created.
Seeing Egon's ghost made me tear up. 😢 They truly captured Egon exceptionally in this. I wish Harold could still be here to reprise his character of Egon, yet I think he did so in spirit. RIP Egon. We love and miss you! 🙏

So cool and so touching that they inserted him in the film was sad but such a nice respectful gesture more movie franchises should do things like this.
I cried like an absolute baby at the end of this movie. It was so beautiful and touching and such an amazing emding to one of the most iconic movies of all time 😢 RIP Harold/Egon 😔🫶
Yep they really make a great job on making egon old and with beard I’m really sad that he’s dead egon and real life actor Harold Ramis 😢😢😢rest in peace he will be missed but never forgotten
Loved the entire movie, but this scene hit me hardest...and warmed my heart all at the same time. I was honoured to dress as ghost Egon for Halloween this past year. Can't wait to dress as him again to go see the next Ghostbusters movie. :)
Crazy how it can go from a little videogamey to near perfection just from that ghostly aura. THAT is how you respect the actors image instead of recreating full dialogue scenes in well lit areas (Also yes i know more work was involved just summing it up)
I never cry for any movie but I remember almost crying in theaters seeing who not only helping his granddaughter against Gozer, but getting to hug his daughter again, and being back with his bois one last time
