McKenna is the most talented AND the most well-spoken of all the young stars. She's definitely going places and will be working for a long time. She was such a fantastic part of the movie!
I also find it hard to believe she'16 this year and Finn is 20. Time sure flies, and now they'll be older versions in Ghostbusters 4, slated for release in Dec. of this year.
@@SpaceWizardCosplay If she does even half as good a job in that movie (and if the writing is at least decent), it'll be a hit. She's one of the best things of this film, aside from Rudd, the OG cast, and the classic GB overall feel of course.
“A Love Letter To The Original” …. Such a great way of explaining how much thought and heart went into making this movie. My cousins, my brother and I grew up with the ghostbusters. We had every action character, the blue plastic proton packs, my mom made us jump suits to wear, was such a huge part of our childhood and now as an adult looking back watching those two classics can appreciate even more of the humor, writing and creativity of it. From the very first scene of Afterlife, the music bringing back memories of the original and everything, I was captivated, and knew this was gonna be excellent!! So many throwback nostalgic moments throughout the movie paying tribute to Harold Ramis and the original was like looking back on old VHS family movies. As a fan and a love for these characters and everything Ghostbusters have us in the original, I don’t think one could ask for anything more. It’s so well done and has everything in it a fan would want and more!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah, I had all the GB toys as well. I remember the figures, the Slimer doll, and the little bucket of slime that came with him. I remember there was a little ball on the proton gun, youd twist it, and itd rotate the beam out the front of it. Afterlife was great, and those final moments were way more emotional than I ever expected.
DJames, quite well said. We’re probably about the same age, as my cousins and I had all those toys as well, watched the Real Ghostbusters, played the horrible…….yet addictive Nintendo Games, all of it. As frustrating as it was to hear about the third movie being attempted, and failing for SOOO many years, never thought it would happen. Especially when Harold passed. All seemed lost. Yet, they pulled this off so magnificently and magically. It’s almost like it was meant to be this way. Sitting with my kid in the theater watching this was just……surreal.
McKenna and Finn are 2 amazing people i have loved for a long time. I saw this movie and was thrilled to know they would be working together. So excited for the sequel!!
The way I look at the cast is like this: Phoebe is Egon (the brains), Trevor is Winston (the mechanic), Podcast is Ray (the paranormal expert) and Lucky is Peter (the sarcastic mouthpiece)
Pheobe's journey of not really fitting in to realizing where she came from is so incredibly moving. She takes after a grandfather she knew nothing about and by the end of she was not only proud of him, but she allowed him, and as a result that part of her, guide her. It gave her stenght, courage and understanding.
Podcast shares Ray's appreciation for the paranormal. Phoebe inherited Egon's genius. Trevor is a natural mechanic. With Winston funding ghostbusters back to life, I pray I get to see these characters again.
My 3 year old daughter has been watching ghostbusters 1&2 back to back and she became a big fan. She couldn't wait to see afterlife. She had so much fun watching it that she went again.
Parenting done right. You could also show her the Real Ghostbusters animated series. Most of, if not all, the episodes are available for free on the Ghostbusters TH-cam channel.
This movie was amazing. I grew up on Ghostbusters 1 and 2, and they're still my favourite movies to this day. Afterlife is such an incredible addition to the franchise, and the feeling of friendship and family was incredibly moving. Seeing the gang back together at the end was perfect. Such a wonderful tribute to Harold Ramis. 🚫👻
Excellently done. These kids (Podcast too) especially the actress playing Egon's Grandaughter just nailed her part down and had the most solid performance of them all. That scene where she cracks that obtuse joke and winks is just dynamite. I wasnt that funny at her age. Take a bow young lady you will be around for a long time! This movie just kicked ass from beginning to end. Thanks to all who brought it to us and Canada for letting them shoot it up there.
Thank you for this film!!!! Ghostbusters is my favorite film & I watched it repeatedly as a kid. This did the original justice and showed a new generation a different way of making a film that’s almost been forgotten. The nostalgia was off the charts, I loved every second. Your child actors are all so talented, I hope they continue to be a part of this franchise for years to come!
I love this movie so much! I have seen it in theaters 3 times already and have cried SO hard. It got me really back into ghostbusters. Now EVERYTIME I see egon anywhere I cry so hard
When egon appeared and helped Phoebe in the end with the blaster, that was really a special moment. With his grandfather. Then again with his daughter, one final hug and acknowledge ment.
Watched it 2 days ago. It was awesome !!! I almost cried while watching it. I got goosebumps when I heard Ecto-1 siren again. Tears were rolling in my eyes when I saw the OG ghostbusters.
I liked the movie, it was well made, touching and a perfect tribute to the original films. And the theme song to this movie by McKenna Grace was absolutely beautiful.
This movie is finally a film that will hopefully change the industry to make good stories with good fun characters again. You don't need a bunch of talking to tell a story, some good placed and well shot visual scenes can tell a story better. I saw the books stacked up in the old dirt farm house and could hear the book stacking dialog in my head from the original film. This was the best film in a small handful of good movies that have been released in the last ten years and I would enjoy seeing more films done this way. Special effects don't have to be the movie, they can be used in subtle way to tell the story and have more impact when used that way.
Facts. Besides the PKE relighting under the chair briefly in the beginning, that stack of books 📚 let you know…….Egon was there. Excellent story telling. Excellent film. Can’t wait for February 1st for the BluRay
Wow. One of the best movies I've seen since 1984. A perfectly written love letter to the original franchise. It hit every note. I laughed, I cried, jumpscares, the lot. I only wished it was longer. Just Incredible.
You guys did an absolute fantastic job of this movie. I loved every bit of it and I can't wait for the next installment. Well cast, well filmed, fantastic story. Harold Ramis would be proud!!!

Ghostbuster is his childhood, it honors his father work and you know it ain't going to be like the all the spin offs because he is making with love and compassion.
Mad respect to everyone involved in this movie, I loved it so much. I was entertained and moved at the same time. Hopefully it takes the younger generation bsck to watch the originals and gets even more fans!
If you liked the movie, you gotta play Ghostbusters the videogame, is like a 2.5 movie, story is from Harold Ramis when he was still alive and Reitman, and voiced by all the original characters!. Is great story and continuation of the Zulu / Ivor Shandor story.
Dan Aykroyd reveals that he has an idea for the original cast to return in Ghostbusters 4, 5 & 6 Could Happen With the Original Team, should a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife happen.
Honestly, even though Ivan, and the OG’s are up there in age, there is such an amazing platform to keep going. Like Dan said in his interview about this, “might as well use the original ghostbusters while we’re still here”. While building the new group. So exciting.
