if you can get BATTLEFORCE: DEATH GUARD - COUNCIL OF THE DEATH LORD and dark imperium box, or Death Guard Plaguefester Warband would be a great value if you can find it for a decent prize
Not gonna lie, the very first Warhammer model i bought was Mortarion. He is just large enough that you can still make him look awesome without being a pro because he is just the right size where details stick out but mistakes aren't really noticeable, and he is just so freakin cool. If you get a couple lucky rolls with Mortarion he can straight up sweep tables of infantry and even other Primarchs. Also best Primarch!!!
Mortarion is a very awesome looking model and despite the DG having an aesthetic I don't normally like, their models do look good enough that I enjoy them despite that. I should warn you though, this video is old at this point and for the 9th Edition rules. I'm slowly covering all of the Combat Patrols now for 10th and will be looking at lists as I find interesting ones. Unfortunately DG seems to be a bit weak at the current time, though they update rules enough that they'll probably bring them up in power sooner than later which is nice.
Thanks! Right now I'm working on a couple of the buyer guides for past armies and then it's Tau's turn. Though after that It will be up in the air, which is about a month out or so right now.
Why am I over 5 minutes into a "What to buy video and you still haven't started onto the topic? Why do you sound like you're a computer reading a script rapidly with a pause at each line break? Why do you start off the "What to buy section with the Combat patrol (which for some dumb reason you keep calling the "Com Patrol") then end the what not to buy section with DAMN NEAR THE ENTIRE COBAT PATROL?
A lot of good questions: The buyer videos cover the general playstyle and lore at the start. There are chapters/timestamps in each to allow people to skip them if they wish to go straight to the buyer guide. Am Techpriest, beep boop. The reason most of those things are in the avoid section is because you can get them in the Combat Patrol for a discount. Why pay 200$ to buy all of them individually when you can pay 150$? The main reason you'd buy something individually is because you don't want to buy that many Combat Patrol boxes, as in you want 3 units of Plague Marines but not 90 Poxwalkers, or you already own everything and just need one unit like the Biologus. That's also why the Poxwalkers, Typhus, and Biologus are all in the avoid, but the Plague Marines are in the maybe category, as you may want more of them than you'd get in a Combat Patrol, whereas with the former three you get plenty of them in the Combat Patrol.
A.T. he did this because it would annoy you and piss you off for the comment. Maybe a intro is needed for the new people who don't know the concepts of deathguard.

Very true, and pinned the comment as it's good to mention somewhere, but I don't usually do so in the videos as it can be a pain to find those.
That's how I started, got Plaguefester for $170 at my LGS last month.
@@Techpriest i startet with the Morty battle force box and as i needed HQ's i took the Dark imperium, too start with, and got 2 PBC in Christmas, 🤣

Starting Death Guard 2023 Edition: What to Buy First?
Short answer: nothing, don't play Death Guard.
