Our economy is struggling with uncertainties, housing issues, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and the pandemic aftermath, causing instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions need urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.
With the US dollar losing value to inflation and other currencies gaining traction, uncertainty looms. Yet, many still trust in the dollar's perceived safety. Worried about my $420,000 retirement savings losing value, I seek alternative security for my money.
This is definitely considerable! Do you think you could suggest any professionals or advisors I can get on the phone with? I'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation.
I appreciate it. After searching her name online and reviewing her credentials, I'm quite impressed. I've contacted her as I could use all the help I can get. A call has been scheduled.
here is what we need (1) remove BREED from the office (2) elect someone competent and can actually do the mayor job to clean up SF (3) remove homeless from SF, turn alcatraz into a shelter, place homeless there (4) maintain police presence in downtown
All sounds good but #3, which is ridiculous. First, your proposal would sound like you are saying we should jail homeless. If you want to send them to a shelter don't send them to a prison area. For example, send them to some open area outside Fresno. Second, homeless who do go are not going to stay.
The reason union square turned into a ghost town is because wages are low, housing prices are through the roof, and layoffs are happening in TECH and slowly going into other industries. Tourists are sick of seeing the homeless everywhere and there is human remains ALLLLL over the city now. Being from SF in my opinion fixing the economy does not start with reopening these stores, there’s a why everyone fled… fix the housing and workforce side of the economy FIRST
What is everybody talking about. Fentanyl & meth use on the streets without legal consequences. Shoplifting rampant without consequences. Why would you do business in a city with a blind eye to crime? You get what you vote for.
Yes NYC is back. Things were bad in 2021 and even most of 2022 but now after late 2023 it’s business as usual. Their vacancy rate is at 15 percent but that’s mostly due to old office buildings being vacated. In newer office buildings vacancy rate is 5 percent or less and more office space is being built and leased. Hudson yards is booming. Crime is down and in free fall. Inflation is a problem but that’s been the case nationwide. You see a lot less of homelessness. The only major issue in NYC right now is the migrant influx and the rising hotel rates.
London is a dump, everyone is moving out because of the low wages, the high housing costs, and the crime. I'm in SF right now and I feel safer walking around at night than in London.
If SF had a personality outside of tech money, hippie burn outs, crime, homelessness, an active nightlife and more affordable housing options - then it'd probably be as good as NYC, LA, London, etc. These cities have their flaws, but SF has an identity crisis.
Yeah. It's a lot nicer, easier to get to, less traffic, less zombie addicts, and cheaper. But we'll see how long that lasts. All the 🗑 in SF is trickling down here.
If you live in Fremont or Union CIty in the East Bay, Santa Clara is definitely closer than San Francisco and you don't have to go through bridge traffic.
Whatever almost every store is vacant in San Francisco from Macy's to major retailers gone... Most everyone I know doesn't want to go to work there anymore they'd rather work in the burbs or at home these people are delusional, who wants to pay $3,400 a month for a one bedroom next to homeless encampments and drug dealers where you can't walk your dog or your infant in a stroller... Or go for a jog in peace
This will not change San Francisco we knew before, What are they going to do with crime? The crime is still happening. People selling stolen merchandise at 7th and market 16th , 24th of mission? I can not carry my good purse criminal will snatch it. Sad.
She is a liar because she keeps the old talking point and blame remote work but never talk about real issue such as rampant theft, open air drugs, mentally unstable homeless roaming in downtown. These are the issues people are talking about. She has lied on TV before because her job is to fill Vacancy and avoid my negative coverage. Chanel 7 should have pick a better guest to interview than this real estate agent crook.
Blasphemy! You have an entire new segment on how to improve downtown and not once do you mention we have to get rid of the people that allowed us to get to this down point??? People needs to be fired for letting this all happen, like years ago.
"However the pandemic, changes in shopping habits, and work from home left a huge number of storefronts empty." Hello, what about CRIME??? When you start it off like this, you know the entire thing is going to be gaslighting. And how about asking some more interesting questions? WHY are businesses choosing to come back? Has the city taken any actions to incentivize this? What business in their right mind would subject themselves to the constant break-ins, while paying taxes to prop up the corrupt SF system?
She is a real estate agent of course she is a liar and crook. Unless they solve homeless and open air drug problems in SF, business will not come back. What business want to stay in SF if this government is not protecting their safety when you have a homeless come in and steal and police do not show up? None. This real estate agent is doing her PR bullshit and want media to broadcast her message. I guarantee she does not even live in Downtown San Francisco
This place is a ghost town. I was around here all day. It’s so hard to shop post pandemic… everything is closed., sooo many mentally unstable cray people
@RaymondHng - by election year, I mean a year the Democrats are afraid of not getting reelected. President and Congress is not every year. They need votes from across the country for President and congress.
yeah because NYC or LA's streets are so clean. Definitely the city, and state need to make some changes to deal with the homeless and drugs, but overall San Francisco is a beautiful city and safer than most in America.
Even though lots of comments are negative. The comments are True regardless of what you think. WAKE UP to the reality of the way it is not the way you would like it to be. San Francisco as of today is still a Sh*thole.
Yeah, it was a thinly veiled commercial. That said, SF is still a beautiful place to live, work, and play. Nicer in ways because now it's not as crowded with childish, bigoted, demanding tourists or a mayor who tells citizens to keep smiling and pleasing because they're just part of the scenery. The park on the Transbay Terminal is worth multiple visits. Park Presidio, Fort Funston, Yerba Buena, McKinley Park, on and on... It's all still there in all its glory. Reputation changes with political tides. Imagine what it was like during the barbaric Barbary Coast days. This is Disneyland in comparison. Heck, you want D'land, go to D'land. SF is a city, not a theme park.
Ain't nobody gonna convert commercial spaces into residential housing. The cost of conversion is too high and I'm sure the permitting process is obscene.
Thank you homeless shoplifters to make SF unsafe and thank you for destroying business. Thank you London Breed for prioritizing the rights of homeless shoplifters over those who are going to work and who are paying their bills while purchasing.
Major suck up to London Breed will not get her re-elected in Nov. just look at section between 6th and 7th street on Market corridor . Still large amount of drug users getting high night and day. Mental unstable transients roaming around downtown around the clock. There is no way tourists are not going to notice. With hybrid work continue, downtown will no t recover even they keep convert office space to residential apartments. This city need to get rid of these drug dealers and users first before start to talk about recovery plan
