And so how is the divorce coming along since the storage solution? 😂😂 This was such a great video. Really enjoying your work and others in the MESBG community
I have been watching your videos over the last few days whilst I hobby and gotta say this has probably been my favourite terrain channel yet, I had to sign up on the patreon because of this.
I've also found that staining the wood works well, as a substitute for paint. Keeps from obscuring all that lovely wood grain, too. If folks out there have cans of wood stain lying around, it can save money on paint. (You'll probably need gloves and ventilation, though).
Yeah that’s a good shout. I actually had a go doing that with some left over stain but then realised it was gloss! 🤦♂️😆 Shiny planks kinda ruins the look! It was also a pain trying to stop them from sticking to everything while drying.
So cool man. I’m a beer and whiskey man while I hobby and while cutting some insulation foam I sliced the skin off my knuckle. The good thing is I was too numb from alcohol to notice. It wasn’t until I saw the splashes of blood on the foam that I realised something was amiss.
This looks fantastic. the biggest issue i've had with these gangplanks connecting terrain pieces when i've made them is that minis can easily fall off if they aren't anchored. my solution might be hiding some magnets in the bigger pieces and painting some metal on the ends of each connecting bridge so they have a strong enough pull, but not so strong as you can't seperate them.
Yeah that's a good shout. When I first started making this I had the mental idea of magnetising all the platforms so that I could remove them in game for the special rule of them collapsing. The connecting bridges are the weakest link though for sure. I'm thinking about glueing little bits of wire to the ends of them which can be bent to hold onto the terrain pieces. We shall see how well that works out!
The good thing with this is that all those wood chips with a bit of wax can be turned into fire starters that can be gifted to a family member or friend who's into outdoor survival or camping.
Those look awesome! I love a chaotic scaffolding sprawl. So many little paths to wonder where does that one go? Those will make a great goblin town and perhaps an Isengard cavern too.
You absolute madman! I hope you had some Netflix on or something while you carved all those sticks. The board is looking AWESOME! We need to see some sort of battle report on that!
What a lot of work but in the end there will be an awesome gaming board. I'd be interested in a battle report especially to see how a battle can be played on these several floors. A little tip for future wood planks: Using a wire brush on the planks is adding a lot more charakter on the wood, especially with drybrushing.
Beautiful work and thanks for the tutorial. Could you use an orbital sander, dremel etc on the wood planks to speed up the process? Then throw them in the coffee can with rocks and shake to taste for more weathering?
Amazing scratch built gaming board love the way you connected all of this together for game play it's mega. When will you have your first battle using this board as it will be a wonder to see all the models fighting it out across the entire structure well done mate a true work of art.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! I’ve one more big addition and then I hope to get some narrative games on it. I’ve been painting up goblins on the side so they’ll be ready to go!
I've been building a goblin lair for about 2 weeks now and..... well, compared to yours, it doesn't even look like I've started yet. Tremendous amount of work done brother. Great job
Great tips buddy, really love how it’s turning out! Some battle reports would be awesome…I mean, otherwise it would be like keeping a Ferrari in the garage all the time. Take that goblin town out for a ride dude 🤝
Haha no doubt 😂 if you do level up to boshing out Ferraris then I’m getting my dibs in now 😂 honestly though, I’d rather look at your creations mate…although not as good for getting to the shops 😉 keep crafting brother 🤝
I know New Zealand is pretty dang long (based on accent, I'm assuming that's where you live) But it would be pretty sick if you and Zorpazorp did a battle report or 3 on your guys various epic boards.
Great terrain !! Subscribed !
Thanks!
A testament to what can be achieved with patience, skill and a funny accent.
Thanks mate! I only put that accent on for you Alex 😘
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes I knew it!!
When can we expect the 3D Games Goblin Town shed Kickstarter to launch?
Haha yeah I may just have to look into something like that one of these days! 😅
And so how is the divorce coming along since the storage solution? 😂😂

Hahaha yeah she'll get over it when the youtube money starts rolling in! 🤣 Might be a while 😬 Glad you're enjoying it mate 😊
Love the subtle trolling of Harry Parkhill in the background of some of these time lapses 😂
Hahaha yes you noticed! Had to include some of those glorious Harry memes! 🤣
“What we’re you doing during the last Great Meme War, Adam?”
@@rosstasker8590 actually making a couple of them haha!
Please sir….can I have that…lol

Wow, thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the content and will see you on discord! 😁
Magnificent! And yes, would love to see some battle reports on this beast of a board!
Thanks mate!

Ah yes the sacrifices we make for our craft 😅
Yay, another awesome episode! Thanks, brother
Glad you enjoyed it mate! 😁
Your mental cutting those sticks up individually. Dedication was worth it tho defos need to see a game on that
Yes, yes I am! I think that I have to film a bat rep on it at this stage, question is when I get round to it 🤷♂️

6:05 is the most satisfying edit I’ve seen in a LONNGGG time. Great work Adam!
Thanks Mark! If only it was that quick for real haha 😅
Now make a battle report of Moria vs Goblintown!
With a metal balrog haha! I’ll most likely do a narrative scenario with Thorin’s co escaping the goblins to start with
@@dicedrinksanddadjokes I guess that makes SENSE…
@rosstasker8590 I have my moments haha 😝
You know what. Im going to build a skaven burrow with this. Thank you.
Cool! Yeah they'd be perfect for that, good luck! 😁
This reminded me a lot of "the gutter" map in Dark Souls 2! Superb build :)
Glad you like it!

Funny you should say that, I actually considered adding something like that into the video! 😆
nothing like making terrain from pop sticks
Pop sticks are life! 😁
That looked very chilled to do, and the results are fantastic!
Thank you very much!
This is beautiful! I have wanted to make something like this for a long time!
Thanks so much 😁
Genuinely fantastic looking
Thank you very much Mark! 😁
Love to see some bat reps. Would be sweet if there was an awesome app out there you could make use of to share the heroes' stats too
Hahaha yeah if only! I was just using the amazing MESBG tracker app while having a game yesterday. It’s so good mate!
Those look awesome! I love a chaotic scaffolding sprawl. So many little paths to wonder where does that one go? Those will make a great goblin town and perhaps an Isengard cavern too.
Thanks buddy! Could potentially go down the Warhammer Old World route with Skaven warrens too. Glad you like it! 😁
You absolute madman! I hope you had some Netflix on or something while you carved all those sticks.

You wait till you see the next one haha! Thanks man, I hope to get a report done on it in the near future 😁

Amazing work Adam! That is going to be one beautiful board!
Thank you very much Robert! 😊
Hahaha, great video ending. Dude this goblin town is fire! Can't wait to see it finished, and yes battle reports on that beast would be very welcome.
Glad you enjoyed! I’m working on it Brad 😁
Beautiful work and thanks for the tutorial. Could you use an orbital sander, dremel etc on the wood planks to speed up the process? Then throw them in the coffee can with rocks and shake to taste for more weathering?
I don't see why not. Apart from cutting myself a couple of times I actually don't mind doing it by hand. It can be a relaxing and meditative process 😉
I like the two camera shots 👍. Of course the rest of the video is as awesome as always!
Thanks buddy! 😁
That's cool
(You should hold the piece down wind when you're spraying it)
Haha yeah my wife gave me grief about that shot haha
Great tips and an awesome build!
Thanks mate!
Incredible work as always. Looking forward to watching a Battle report at this beautiful table.
Thanks so much! I will see what I can do 😁
Looks great. Can be used for Skaven terrain as well.
Thanks dude! 😁
Awesome looking build!!!
Glad you think so!
Nice building, thx for sharing ;)

Bloody good stuff
Thank you kindly 😊
This is awesome! Your videos are fantastic and have helped me with some of my own projects in the past.
Glad to help! Thanks for watching Kevin 😁
I'd love to see a battle report, played on this terrain. So many people will be falling to their doom.
Haha yeah man it’ll happen for sure!
Yass!!! I'm doing mordheim terrain now, thanks for the tips!

As an ork player this is a must see and you got another subscriber from the safety warning
Haha nice! Thanks for watching and for the sub 😁
where do you find bark like that? Looking great!
It’s pine bark. I’m lucky enough to live close to a lot of pine forestry 😁
Looking glorious, as always dude! Really satisfying to see all the individual parts coming together :D
Also, batrep wen?
Thanks buddy! All in good time 😁
