@ yea but I’m not sure if you’ve watched the LOTR films, they’re filmed in New Zealand (that’s what I was implying) 😅 Zorpazorp literally lives on location
Hey Lachie, I just wanted to say: if you find yourself running short on housewalls and have leftover roofs, you can maybe make a bunch of small A-frame houses. These were very common in Anglo-Saxon and Norse societies, especially poorer people, or maybe for specialist houses (like a root cellar or even a bathhouse), the floor inside would be dug down a foot or two into the earth. They're probably not shown in the movies, but if you're fine with something not being screen-accurate, there's a suggestion at least!
@@Zorpazorp They're known as pit houses since they were pretty much roof over a pit. They were used as workshops up in Scandinavia. The most common use was for textiles and pottery. Using it as blacksmiths are also pretty common and I think I've seen a reference for leather work as well. Not sure how common they were in Anglo-Saxon England but up in Scandinavia the archeology shows their use well into the 11th century. I made three in XPS with just a few weeks ago myself with sod roofs. I would love to see you make them with the Rohan kits! Great job with this video and the board, looks amazing!
It's crazy that the production pulled up the grass at Edoras and replaced it with different grass and when filming was done put the original turf back.
Ah, putting those buildings down on that flocked board towards the ends was very satisfying, it suddenly looked like an immersive little village. Can't wait to follow this. (And see the end of the Helms Deep build!)

I've been following your videos since one got randomly suggested to me during the beginning of covid, and with each video you surpass your own capabilities, both in creativity and passion for whatever Warhammer offers you. @@markhill3858 Yeah I know he didn't have to pay for it. That's why I said Games Workshop is aware of the channels its customers watch. Clearly they sent this to him based on the amount of tabletop builds and games videos he has made over the years. It was a smart decision on Games Workshop's part to provide it to him and allow him to build hype for the new Rohan army dropping soon.
Hell yeah, this is so inspiring. I'm not going to build anything to this scale, but its definitely given me inspiration for creating my own rohan board. Even if it just ends up being a little display
That Helms Deep in the background is absolutely insane! Some of the angles you had with the camera were straight out of the film! The level of detail in everything you do is so inspiring man keep it up!
Awesome work on kitbashing these Rohan houses, love the variety. I can only begin to imagine what I would do with 100 kits. Thank you for making my wildest Middle-Earth terrain imaginations (and many I would not even have thought possible) true! Stay Mega! Love from Belgium!
Once a sizeable part of middle-earth is finished, I reckon a fellowship-campaign across all game-boards would be possible. Combining both tabletop-roleplay and wargaming is probably a challenge but it would make for a great multi-part series.^^
If you have structural integrity issues with some of the larger buildings you attempt I'd suggest using the sprues cut into beams for the interior and unseen areas to save the on part usage and keep it all together.
I’m never going to build something this big, but seeing you use green stuff like this gives me some great ideas for use in my own builds, so thanks for the inspiration 🥰
Ah sweet sweet grey crack Sundays! Just bliss, thanks man looking great already, and loving the speed of the progress. Real momentum on this which is great! Hope GW are sending you some sweet wee Rohirrim to fill these spaces too!

Genuine question; You have mentioned several times that the end goal is all of middle earth in 28mm scale. Have you calculated it out to what the approximate final dimension would be? You have part of Osgiliath, The Pelanor, and the outer wall, as well as enough of Helms Deep to estimate the ratio relation to that wall mounted board, so how big would this be? Some napkin math tells me more than 2 football fields (soccer for USA) once you estimate "its a 3 day ride and none of my riders can bear you as a burden" and that was Dunharrow to the White City, not Edoras Follow up question, how much of the map are you aiming for? Rhun? Arnor and Northern Eariador? Up to the Ettenmoors? Regardless if you see or reply, this is awesome! ps. Screw the algorithm!
Back in the day I was famed in my gaming group (The Northern Wasters) for 2 things...rapidly painting a 2000 point painted Tournament army and making terrain...you sir are on another level
Really nice. I'm looking forward to returning to the Rohan kits myself for the new edition. A nice little Meduseld and a couple of burning houses will do me.
Discovered your page today, while looking for guides on the Rohan building kits, for creative ways to build houses and palisades with the kits, and have been lapping all of it up. I've never been excited to build terrain before now. Slightly disappointed though, that you're re-using your scratch made gatehouse, instead of building the gatehouse by bashing together house and palisade kits. I suppose I am suggesting it for a future video? Alternative gatehouse using only kits 😅
100 Rohan house kits seems massively excessive to me, especially when stores are getting messed about with allocated stock allowances. That being said, fair play it looks bloody awesome and I’m looking forward to seeing the final result. All the other boards have been cool.
what about some Warhammer The Old World terrain, the kits there for the buildings are surprisingly modular and you can build a 'The Empire' town quite easily with it (Reikland, Nuln, Altdorf etc.)
