Thanks for just doing it. No "what's up guys", no long intro. You have a level of professionalism that is rare on TH-cam.
Happy to hear this! I aim to be as helpful and to the point as possible - no sense in wasting anyones time (mine or yours) :D
you prolly dont care but if you are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my gf for the last months =)
@Aries Ryker Definitely, been using InstaFlixxer for months myself =)
@Aries Ryker yup, I've been using instaflixxer for since december myself :)
@Aries Ryker definitely, I've been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :D
Your channel is wonderful! Because of you being a Godox sl60w fan and talking about it so well yesterday I finally bought one! Thank you very much and don't stop.
A kiss from Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
Great to hear!
With tax it's just over 4 benjamins. Still a good deal. As a photographer, one light was my bread and butter, so to speak. Good vid, thanks.
For sure, it's a great deal for a light that does some pretty good things :D
Thanks for the info finding ways for 1light setup.
No problem 👍
Hi Heather! Just popped on here after talking to you on DSLR Video Shooter's livestream! When the livestream finished I went on your channel only to find out I'm already a subscriber and watched some of your product reviews just a few days ago lol !!! Thanks again for your help!
I cannot wait for your channel to blow up!! 😊
Thats pretty funny! Hope you learn and grow in lighting the way youre wanting to!
Awesome Heather! Totally love watching you whilst working out. Makes it so less boring than just banging out reps and by the end of my workout I’ve always learnt something. Time to dust off my reflector!
Haha, happy to hear you're getting two things done at once! Keep it up :D
I just found your channel and I'm really digging your tips! I was shocked that you don't have more subs yet. Thank you for sharing!

By the way I always stayed away from Godox LED lights cause of the loud fan.. But after watching one of your videos I purchased the Godox SL60w to try it out. I hope it won't disappoint me..
Many thanks once again. Keep it up
Glad I could help! I hope it works out very well for you!
@@FellowFilmmaker I really hope the noise won't be that loud I know that Aputure's fans are dead quiet but I can't afford the price tag on their lights. I'll keep you updated on this. Many thanks again. :)
Please do! :D
Your awesome covered everything in one video

@@FellowFilmmaker Look forward to seeing it.
In interviews, how do you determine which side your key light be? Right, left? Do you ask your talent which side they want their face to be highlighted?
Excellent question. There are many factors that can go into it. But never ask the talent. You are the professional. Sometimes you pick a side based on the limitations of the room (size, or daylight streaming in that can't be blocked off). Honestly this is a big question to answer, haha! :D I often like to key from the subjects left side as I find it works well for me, but I do change it based on certain limitations of locations. Sometimes you will only have one choice if you are in a tight space or there are windows just streaming in alot of light (or you want to shoot near windows).
@@FellowFilmmaker awesome! Thank you!
Great channel, just subscribed. You have good relevant, concise content. Please keep up the good work.

Thanks! Trying to figure out if I need one or two GODOX SL60's ... so very interesting video for me ;-)
I would highly recommend them! I'm making a video today comparing the Godox SL-60W to the Aputure 120d mk2. So stay tuned for that!
Just discovered you. You're awesome. Keep it up!
Thank you! Will do!

Awesome!!!! Thanks so much Joe
VERY USEFULL TNX
Most welcome
Great video
Thank you! :D
Thanks, I am going to buy it.
Hope you enjoy it!
This light ....what would you say its primary use would be in video shoots ?......To light maybe from small products to medium size products and half shots of people at the max ?? Cant be used to light spaces and brighten rooms up for a video shoot right ?
I think it works with a variety of situations. You can use it to light a one person interview, it won't be super bright but it can work. It's a great hair light or accent light. Great for lighting up walls and such.
@@FellowFilmmaker > Thanks for replying !
ooowyeaah....that's helpful for me...
Happy to hear it was a helpful video!
Great job, thanks! Ever try the GOdox 150 or 200? same but stronger i assume? wondering if neccesary or worth the money.thannks
I have not tried those lights... yet :) Maybe someday! I think the Sl-60w holds it's own pretty well
I used one light setup but just a ring light hehe nice video. support ❤️
Cool! Lights can be anything you have on hand, haha :D
Hi! Great video! What do you think for lighting two people in a room, is it ok one SL 60 with a soft box or SL 150? Thanks!
It can be done with an SL-60w, but it is a little hard since you have to keep the subjects very close together. A brighter light might be a good option, but I've heard the SL150 is not that great. Look into the Godox VL150 or VL200 for a better option
Your bounce light looked best especially when you lit the wall to your left. You could have moved closer to the wall for a big soft-box effect. One thing I notice about your vids is that you don't grade them so they look consistent.
Good insight.
Some videos on my channel are much older than my current work, that may be why it looks different.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
For youtube video lighting, is the Godox SL 60w better than the florescent spiral bulbs usually found on Amazon? A 85 watt 5500 spiral bulb that is equivalent to 400 watts is only 30 dollars. Which one will be better for indoor youtube video lighting?
I found the SL60 to be better typically
How do you control background light spill?
Great question! The best way is to have enough space between the background and the subject. Otherwise there are ways to direct light and keep it away from unwanted areas.
I own a surf shop out here in Honolulu and Im trying to figure out a lighting solution for taking pics of tee, slipper and surfboards.. So many lights to choose from it's getting super confusing. Need some help please. - David
Alot is dependent on if you're dealing with sunlight in the shots or not. Combatting with daylight is why you need brighter lights. Start there with what you'll be shooting most and you'll find out what you need
This is really informative! I am amazed at how you could just talk out in a flow like that. If you've seen the movie 'Soul', you know that you are 'in the zone'. BTW, Heather, the graphics you have for the like button, instagram handle animation, and text are all great! May I know how / where you get them done?
- Arun
Glad you enjoyed the video! :D The graphics I use usually come from simplevideomaking.com
@@FellowFilmmaker thank you!
I like this channel.
So glad to hear that!
Hey nice video . Can your suggest if its good for making beauty video’s .
Thanks for watching! I'd say this light is great for all sorts of things, and tho I've not done beauty video myself I'd say it should work fine. You'll probably use additional lighting or bounce with it but it should do great!
Thank you 😊
You are most welcome!
Thankyou very much

Great video thanks for this review it was very helpful. I'm looking to buy a single light around this price point for filmmaking. Is it worth saving up for a bi clolour light or can I do most things with a single colour? Thanks!
Well depends on what you hope to do with it.... bi-color is helpful if you need to match to other warmer of cooler light sources. If you just get a daylight balanced light you'd have to gel it to match and it is much harder to get it to look tungsten. So bi-color is the way to go if you think you'll need it. :)
Subbed!
Thanks so much!
Hey there, I have a ring light (18 inch) and I'm buying an SL60W. Can I use the ring light as the rim light?
Sure, any light can be a hair/rim light :D
@@FellowFilmmaker I'm gonna ask you some questions. According to you, it'll be a good two-point lighting. Right? What bout softbox? Should I go for 80cm or 120 cm? What are the differences between fill light and rim light? Are rim light, backlight, and hair light the same?
And this channel is underrated. You deserve more subs.
@@FellowFilmmaker Do you think SL60W is a good deal in 2021? Or should I go for the light where I can change the color temperatures? And which light ( color temperature variable ) is best?
Yes, two point lighting is a great way to go if you're on a budget OR like the moody type of look. For a softbox I recommend something around the 90 cm range if you plan to use it on human subjects. You can use smaller of course, but the larger the more soft the light (too large gets annoying to work with though). Fill light is to fill in the shadows on a subjects face usually pointing to the front of the subjects face (a little angled from the side). While a rim light is more from the back and to the side to "edge" or "rim" the subject - creates an outline almost from the head down the shoulder.
Haha, well I'm glad you enjoy the channel! More subs are bound to come :D
I think it's a great deal still, a great entry level type of light. It's high enough quality to get great footage with. Bi-color lights are great but typically have less output, but they certainly have their places. I think I'd recommend investing in Daylight balanced lights first (Sl60w is one, so are many like the Aputure 120dmkii). For a light with variety, it depends on what you need it to do. You can got the panel route or the single source route (again, SL60w type of light).
Is your wall is white in colour?
Its like an ugly tanish color
In this video your light seems whiter, but mine is total yellow 😂 and i can't find answer in the entire internet.
I do adjust for color shift in camera as well as do a little post work on my videos, so it's possible that is why it looks whiter.
@@FellowFilmmaker yes, i have seen all of your videos but many creators are not facing this issue.
Keep up the good work! Subscribe!
Thanks! Will do!
Instead of talking about it, why not SHOW viewers what you are describing?
:D yes
This is a much older video, back when I first started the channel
I've learned since, haha
Thanks for answering last question.....now pls tell me which is best and free software to edit video....and lense for TH-cam video.... How can I contact you for further information? #ar4maths
Free software would probably be Davinci. I use it and it's a great program. Pros use it.
Lens? I like my 35mm lens, its a good focal length. The kind you get depends on the camera you have.
