Saw these guys a few months ago. One of my favorite bands and they were awesome! 60+ years old, they played a two hour set with no breaks. Unreal
Bobby blitz has been singing like this over forty years and still killing it!!!

Overkill is so vastly underrated. Bobby and DD and the revolving cast of players have been playing uncompromised thrash for nearly 40 years. They've never given into trends and changes in styles. They are the godfathers of the genre.
I’m glad that other than the change of a drummer 6 years ago it hasn’t been a revolving cast anymore, Dave linsk has been in the band for about 24 years and Derek Tailer has been in for 22 years
I went to middle school with the bassists younger brother. Before they were Overkill they were called “Lubric*nts”. OMG. We would watch his brother, Carlo( DD Verni) practice the bass in his basement. The band was based out of New Providence and Berkeley heights NJ. Great memories! Awesome reaction!

The show was at this small venue called the Ritz. Maybe 400-500 people. Me and 3 friends got there several hours before the show started and we were the only fans there for a couple hours. It was Overrkill, Slayer and some other band I don’t remember. We were all standing around outside and Blitz came out talking to some girl. It was obvious he was trying get her to stay but she got in a car and left. He just came over and started talking to us . Bitching about the girl at first. 3 of us were in a band together and we told him we had learned one of his songs. That was about the extent of it.

Shoulda been the Big Five with these dudes in the lineup...Overkill has always brought the pain, and stayed true to what they are. They take a backseat to nobody.
Overkill kicking out Masterpiece after Masterpiece since Ironbound (2010) ... their part of my personal Big4 of Thrash Metal for sure !!

Metallica is often credited as the "creators of thrash" but Overkill technically got there first with their demo which Metallica may or may not have heard before writing the songs that ended up on No Life Til Leather.

Please check out Rage Of Light - 2.0 with new singer Martyna Halas. They need a drummer, Aquiles Priester would be a perfect fit. They use a drum machine, sounds great, would be better if someone was actually playing it on a kit.
