@@bassw1758 Any competent metal head knows how amazing Over Kill is regardless if they've had less quality albums over the years.
Overkill is a foundation of the Thrash scene and yes even in their 60's absolutely destroying live.
Point being all competent metal heads know that Over Kill is a fantastic band especially their earlier discography.
Most underrated and overlooked metal band of all time. These boys been wrecking necks for 40 years. Been my favorite since the first time I saw them back in '84, after sll these years they're still going strong.
Overkill are the most consistently awesome thrash band out there.
They've never put out a bad record.
Agreed, some people will talk shit about ReliXIV and Immortalis, but those albums have some really great songs. And I think the 3 album run of necroshine, bloodletting, and killbox 13 is their most underrated 3 albums, they may not be as consistent as some of the classics or the 5 most recent albums, but they do have some of their best songs they’ve ever made on those 3 albums.
Necroshine, I am fear, stone cold Jesus, forked tongue kiss, thunderhead, what I’m missin, I hurricane, devil by the tail, damned, the one, crystal clear, the sound of dying, and struck down could go toe to toe with any songs off their classic or most recent 5 albums for me
Now that's fucking thrash metal at its best. Such an underrated band cause these guys can jam!!!
Overkill's Horrorscope is my personal favorite I'm sucker for intro that have big buildups and it has a nasty old school breakdown in it as well

Live Young, Die Free was the first Overkill song I heard when it blew the mind of a friend and he told me I had to hear it too. I haven't looked back.

Back in the late 80s and early 90s when your friend said they never heard thrash you introduced them with overkill. If they survived there was hope for them.
I had a buddy I'd sit with on the bus ride to school in the early 90s who would hand me his Walkman and tell me to listen to it. That's how I got into Slayer and Overkill.
I was their crazy fan when I was 17... And I'm still their crazy fan at my 50's. D. D Verni is one of the greatest bad ass bassists

One of my all time favorite bands! These guys are a must see live. First time I saw them they played with Nuclear Assault, Testament and Exodus. The one show I legit thought I might die at a show. People were going completely bananas to the point where the bouncers started literally throwing people out the emergency doors to get them out faster. Like one super jacked bouncer with a guys arms and another with his legs just launching them like it was an Olympic event and they were going for the Gold.
True story: Was at one of a few Overkill shows I've attended and Bobby Blitz (the singer) looked me right in the eye, pointed at me, and gave me the finger. My personal best concert experience ever!
D.D. Verni the bass player is one of the best metal bass players ever!

Yesssss!!! Overkill is sooo good, very underrated, in my opinion. They've got so many great songs. My roommate(bass player) in the Air Force and I(guitar player) used to jam on "Feel the Fire", "Overkill", "In Union We Stand" & "Powersurge" all the time. You should check out "Hammerhead" off their very first album 'Feel the Fire'(hell, the whole album is killer). For some of their newer stuff, check out "Mean Green Killing Machine".
OVERKILL IS UNDERRATED!!! Had this on in the car on the way home today. Cannot wait to see DD, Bobby, Dave, Derek & Jason on tour SOOOOOON!!!

Overkill is best served live. I've always liked Overkill, but I think they don't have any A-list songs (Elimination being the best imo), but are consistently good. Seeing them live for the first time I was expecting it to be a "nice" concert, but the crowd went bananas right from the start and it never slowed down. I went with it and it was one of the best concerts I've been in to this day. Bobby even threw himself into the crowd in the end . I've never seen anyone do that in my country (we are quite reserved). I heard Axl Rose tried it one time but the crowd parted and he hit the ground :)

It's official, Overkill is the greatest thrash metal band of all time! Their new album Scorched is the best thrash album since Sepultura released Roots in 1996. These guys are in their 60s. I can't think of a single band or musician that put out some of their best material in their 60s, DD is the best metal bass player of all time.

Always go to the main songs on an album for first reactions, too many times fans steer listeners to the long-burn songs. The only two songs on this classic album to do a reaction to is Elimination and Skullcrusher. Great song from the first listen.

My point of view but Overkill 🤘🎸 belong in the top metal bands with MetallicA , Slayer , Exodus ,megadeth ,Anthrax & Testament. Way better lists than the big four

The best Overkill lineup for sure. I like a lot of the new stuff but it will never touch this era.
