Thanks for sharing. I recently used your chamomile lotion recipe to make a lotion using olive oil infused chamomile. I’m curious to know if you have a preference for the types of oil you use to make your infusions. Could you do a video on the different kinds of oils?
Different oils are better for different skin types. Olive oil is quite heavy and has a particular scent that I'm not a fan of in creams. Avocado is also nutrient-rich but a bit heavy. Sweet almond oil is my favourite for creams for myself and others - it's a good all-rounder. Apricot kernel is another that's light feeling as is grapeseed and wheatgerm. I'll consider it for a future video in a course rather than here, though. It's a specialised topic!
I share the best varieties (there are two that are particularly good for skincare) in the ebook lovelygreens.teachable.com/p/calendula-a-guide-to-growing-and-using-it-in-skin-care-617316 - orange and yellow varieties can be used though.
@@emkn1479@emkn1479 Resina is good, but the flowers are small in comparison to my favorite variety, which is only available in Europe. My Resina calendula seeds came from shrsl.com/4pjmm
Vitamin e oil sold to the public is not strong enough to work as an antioxidant for extending the life of oils. There's a lot of information saying otherwise, but it's incorrect and just repeated from other inaccurate sources. The best thing you can do to extend the shelf-life of oil-based products iis use oil that is well within its best by date.
lovely video
Beautiful , I wish I can get some of your calendula flowers. Love them!
I hope you get to grow some soon! They're pretty easy to source and grow 😍
@ it’s hard to grow anything here I am barely keeping up with my AloeVera. I am in AZ
This is so educational and very helpful
Thanks so much! Really glad you think so 💚
¡Thank you de much Tanya! ❤
Hope you enjoy making them 🙂
I’m very into this and have been gathering ingredients. I’m going to try reusing washed cosmetic containers I already have.
Excellent idea - I reuse mine time and time again. You can either hand-wash or run them through the dishwasher, depending on what material they are.
@ I just wish this had dawned on me earlier, BEFORE I recycled many 🤦♀️ oh well.
I love calendula everything, just made some balm. Need to try face cream next 😊
Me too 😍 If you have calendula oil ready to go, feel free to use my calendula skin cream recipe lovelygreens.com/calendula-lotion-recipe/

I grow lots of colours of calendula. Will any variety do?

Me too. From what I’ve heard from other herbal makers is that they’ll all work, but the resina type is the most medicinal.

What other essential oil can I use?
For the lip balm?
Can vitamin E oil be added to increase shelf-life of the salve and the lip balm?

I made calendula and chamomile salve last year and I loved it. I'm about to start a fresh batch of calendula oil. It is so healing.
And feels so lovely on your skin in winter 💚
Your salve looks a better alternative of Vaseline, that cause me more acne
It's very similar, but I wouldn't use it on your face if you suffer from acne. Beeswax is a comedogenic ingredient, meaning that it can block pores.
