I've known many blind kids...and adults....treat her like she is TOTALLY normal....she will learn where things are and will run you ragged!! Don't do everything for her, let her learn her own way.....she will be a great success!!
While I get what you're trying to say, children with disabilities will need different treatment sometimes, and that's okay. You can teach your kid to be independent ("normal") while also accomodate to their needs. The way you're phrasing it now comes over very ableist. For example my oldest has low vision. She's going to a normal school for sighted kids. She's able to do 80% fine, but 20% she won't due to her bad sight. Like doing an hour long school exam, cuz reading with low vision costs way more energy. So as a parent we need to advocate to get her a special exam with bigger fond and where all text is read out loud to her so she can focus on the answers. Helping a kid this way isn't "doing everything", it's making sure the disability doesn't avoid them from becoming successful. Had we not done this for her but instead let her "learn on her own" then she probably wouldn't have passed the year despite being intelligent. And this is coming from someone who was treated as a "normal" child while being autistic, which is still influencing me badly today in my 30s.
@@Nathan_Bookwurm That's just common sense....not suggesting she get a driver's license. However I have seen kids sit in a chair at a gathering or activity because their parents taught them FEAR. Love all the comments. This is what neighbors should be like. Supportive and loving.
She is so beautiful. ❤ It must have come as such a shock to you when the paediatrician just blurted out that she has no eyes. Sending love and blessings from South Africa.
Yes, it sounds horrifying, but the baby looks like an angel
I’m sure he was shocked to find this if there’s less than 30 cases world wide.
@@joleneplourde9885maybe but he needs to work on his bedside manner
She is a gift and has a very special purpose. And with parents like hers she is going to be perfectly fine.

You endorse a "God" that would do this to a child.!!! Gimme a break.
THINK.
You people will do ANYTHING to rationalize your fairy tales, it's ridiculous. Grow up.

She is gorgeous. Congrats, Mama and Daddy.
I was responsible for leading and guiding a girl who was born with no eyes, at a Campfire Girl camp. This was about 70 years ago and I had to take her to the camp nurse so that she could cleanse the plastic eyes that were in place where real eye should have been. Her name was Jan. I will never forget her.
She's gonna have superpowers, mark my words! Adorable and perfect little girl! ❤❤❤
You had a better chance of winning the power ball. That just proves what a miracle you have right there. You have something money can’t create you got a bundle of joy love and a whole life of enrichment.
She will bring every emotion to you both but the most important one is love.

It takes a special couple to be able to understand this and move forward.thank you for being that couple!
Please, know I say this as a positive, encouragement. As I started watching this video and while this dad was holding his precious daughter, there was an angle that showed the back of the baby's head. When I saw the back of her head, with the angle of the video, it looked like a heart ❤️. Now I know it could be just something that though I saw in a glimpse. (as my sight is not great) but I wanted to share this anyway in case it is not only me.
I see it!❤
