Blood of Zeus, Infinity Train, Close Enough, and Animainacs were on my radar for months or years, yet got to them a bit later, because I tend to forget stuff sometimes lol. I saw art and clps for Magical Girl and avoided it like the plague... And that Bobblehead thing, I saw Cher as one months ago and said "Nope".

@@GenerationWest what about the animation? i felt like that they lost their budget at some points, and at other points it feels really jerky. i also felt like certain plot points didn't really get resolved appropriately at the end, like the big battle happens and then Heron was with his friends, and there wasn't much aside from that. it was jarring for me at least story wise. and I'm sorry, i love Seraphims character and his design, but at the end when he did is Star Wars episode 3 Darth Vader yell, for some reason i just bursted out laughing.
Honestly calling magical girl friendship squad the female nutshack seem like the perfect description , considering that just like nutschack it's a show that everyone despises that Pan somehow got enjoyment out of.
1:05 One of the original writers, Paul Rugg, WAS in fact asked to come back, but he felt he did everything he wanted to with the Warners, even feeling that way in the mid-90s when he transitioned over to Freakazoid. He'd totally be up for a Freakazoid reboot, though. Doesn't excuse everyone else though. I'm all for new blood and new ideas, but at least give them the chance to try. They're a big reason why Animaniacs is remembered how it it is in the first place.

So basically animate on local computers then send the scenes to a render farm made up of cloud Linux instances running using the Microsoft Azure service. Don't get why they decided to for this project, no heavy hair or memory intensive scenes it looks like
I don't like the lack of shadows on the Animaniacs characters in the revival. They look flat & without a good sense of space in their surroundings. They look great when there ARE shadows on them, so maybe that's just a modern cartoons thing that I'm just now noticing. That & the use of thin outlines makes characters lack dimension, not helped by the brighter color palette on their models.
I have the same opinion but since going back and watching the old series I have come to appreciate the new one in some ways as well. like I thought the thin lines were annoying but it's not like the old ones were much better, because paired with the coloring it became hard to see the details of the faces in some scenes. Also I hated the new backgrounds at first, since they looked flat. And while I still think the old ones are better at depth, the old ones were had worse colors, they had more muted color palettes that against the warner 3, made them look like ghosts. Also I just like the sleeker art style better in new one but that's just me.

I realize that "bobbling" is kind of the whole point of bobbleheads, but seriously, how did anyone look at that nausea inducing animation for more than two seconds and think that looked okay? It's kind of refreshing having a cartoon reviewer that doesn't absolutely trash bad shows and actually bothers to find good things to say about them and their creators. I recall the part of his Nutshack review where he takes a moment to talk about the creator's cool urban aztec art business. That was neat. Compare it to MrEnter stirring his fanbase to harrass a Spongebob's writer over a bad episode a couple of years ago. Pan is the only cartoon reviewer that I can stand currently. Most of the others take themselves so fucking seriously that make me cringe a little.
Last Kids on Earth has potential, but I think they did something weird in trying to stick so close to the books, even though it's a planned 10 book saga, yet it has not been picked up for another season at this time, so a lot of those plotlines will stay unresolved. Cleopatra in Space has the opposite problem, where it could've easily adapted all six books in 26 episodes, but did a bunch of filler and deviated a lot, so it ends on a cliffhanger that will likely not get resolved either.
Can you tell me what Cleopatra in space is about? I've heard and seen some clips of the show, but I don't have the streaming site it's on and I don't know what's about.
Both the cartoon and the graphic novel series are about a teenage Cleopatra being transported by magic tablets to the future, where a military school discovers she is prophesized to save the galaxy from an evil tyrant know as Octavian. That’s all I can say without spoiling, but the comic and cartoon are pretty different after that.
A quick clarification: Microsoft Azure isn't a program, it's a cloud service a la Amazon Web Services. Basically, all of the Bobblehead movie's assets are in the cloud. Is that impressive? I don't know. I never thought of using Azure to host movie files before.
I think what they meant is that they did all their rendering using Azure instead of having their own render farm, still not that impressive without any kind of stats about how long it took.
@@Bloogeyz ...sorry, but from you and my perspective that wouldn't matter either: CG scenes used to take weeks to render. A modern farm probably only takes hours to minutes if they're sitting on the thousands of cards in their farm that I think they have. Hell, we're at the beginning of real-time raytracing (with tricks in Games, but 100% real in-tool like Blender) so it probably isn't that long with how much money MS can throw at things.
Honestly, Lazor Wulf is among one of my favorite Adult Swim cartoons next to Final Space, Rick and Morty and Primal. Also, I'm really happy that the show got renewed for a second season.
Final Space is hilarious given it's supposed to be a TBS show. But it airs on Adult Swim first so it's like.........pretty much most people are gonna watch it on Adult Swim.

I thought I was the only human alive to watch Blood of Zeus. I saw no one talking about it which really disappointed me cause it definitely deserves a watch.
I liked it, but it weirdly came out around the same time as Hades, and for me the renditions of the Greek Gods and figures were much more interesting and affable there.

How come hardly anyone's talking about Infinity Train down here? I remember everyone getting excited over the pilot, and then again when it got picked up for a full series, and then... It's like everyone kinda forgot about it. I didn't watch it until earlier this year myself, but my God. It's fucking incredible! I think season 3 is probably the best, has the best plot and character development. But I think season 2 is probably my favorite, because I'm a pathological shipper, and Goddamn that was a cute pairing! Both seasons had me on the edge of my seat by the end, though!

Another great Netflix cartoon you could check out is The Hollow. It's an adventure/mystery/horror series about a bunch of kids who seemingly don't know each other that wake up in a strange world with all sorts of bizarre inhabitants and they go on an adventure to remember who they are, how they got to this place and how to get back home. It's a really great show and not enough people talk about it.
I knew a couple ppl working on the new animaniacs and apparently there weren’t any rigs. They were just given an animatic and a model sheet basically. So it was mostly all digitally drawn animation.

The real better version of "The Problem Solverz", created by the same guy of that Cartoon Network show, has been aired on FXX as part of Fox's ADHD animated block. It was called "Stone Quackers".

Last Kids On Earth is like a mix between Avatar The Last Airbender style storytelling with Phineas And Ferb style humor. The latter is no surprise since Scott D. Peterson (the story editor for Phineas And Ferb and Milo Murphy's Law) is the showrunner here.
It feels more like Netflix wanted to have a child friendly alternative to Daybreak seeing how they released really close to each other

It's kind of refreshing having a cartoon reviewer that doesn't absolutely trash bad shows and actually bothers to find good things to say about them and their creators. I recall the part of his Nutshack review where he takes a moment to talk about the creator's cool urban aztec art business. That was neat. Compare it to MrEnter stirring his fanbase to harrass a Spongebob's writer over a bad episode a couple of years ago.
Pan is the only cartoon reviewer that I can stand currently. Most of the others take themselves so fucking seriously that make me cringe a little.

Last Kids on Earth has potential, but I think they did something weird in trying to stick so close to the books, even though it's a planned 10 book saga, yet it has not been picked up for another season at this time, so a lot of those plotlines will stay unresolved. Cleopatra in Space has the opposite problem, where it could've easily adapted all six books in 26 episodes, but did a bunch of filler and deviated a lot, so it ends on a cliffhanger that will likely not get resolved either.
Can you tell me what Cleopatra in space is about? I've heard and seen some clips of the show, but I don't have the streaming site it's on and I don't know what's about.
Both the cartoon and the graphic novel series are about a teenage Cleopatra being transported by magic tablets to the future, where a military school discovers she is prophesized to save the galaxy from an evil tyrant know as Octavian. That’s all I can say without spoiling, but the comic and cartoon are pretty different after that.

A quick clarification: Microsoft Azure isn't a program, it's a cloud service a la Amazon Web Services. Basically, all of the Bobblehead movie's assets are in the cloud.
Is that impressive? I don't know. I never thought of using Azure to host movie files before.
I think what they meant is that they did all their rendering using Azure instead of having their own render farm, still not that impressive without any kind of stats about how long it took.
@@Bloogeyz ...sorry, but from you and my perspective that wouldn't matter either: CG scenes used to take weeks to render. A modern farm probably only takes hours to minutes if they're sitting on the thousands of cards in their farm that I think they have. Hell, we're at the beginning of real-time raytracing (with tricks in Games, but 100% real in-tool like Blender) so it probably isn't that long with how much money MS can throw at things.

Animaniacs isn't rigged animation from what it looks like. Sure, there's some minor tweening, but those are definitely redrawn frames.
The Bobbleheads movie looks so terrible that I almost feel like it deserves its own video.

Honestly, Lazor Wulf is among one of my favorite Adult Swim cartoons next to Final Space, Rick and Morty and Primal. Also, I'm really happy that the show got renewed for a second season.
Final Space is hilarious given it's supposed to be a TBS show.
But it airs on Adult Swim first so it's like.........pretty much most people are gonna watch it on Adult Swim.

You should look into the show from Fox's Animation Domination block, some shows had a similar aesthetic. I wish Pan would do a full Fox Adult Animation retrospective, there's so many interesting shows from them.

Tab Murphy worked on many Disney movies like Hunchback Of Notre Dame and Atlantis: The Lost Empire, though he's also worked on WB projects like Batman: Year One, Thundercats 2011, and Justice League Action.
I thought I was the only human alive to watch Blood of Zeus. I saw no one talking about it which really disappointed me cause it definitely deserves a watch.
I liked it, but it weirdly came out around the same time as Hades, and for me the renditions of the Greek Gods and figures were much more interesting and affable there.
Blood Of Zeus just looked extremaly boring and the "chosen son" type story doesnt help...

How come hardly anyone's talking about Infinity Train down here? I remember everyone getting excited over the pilot, and then again when it got picked up for a full series, and then... It's like everyone kinda forgot about it. I didn't watch it until earlier this year myself, but my God. It's fucking incredible! I think season 3 is probably the best, has the best plot and character development. But I think season 2 is probably my favorite, because I'm a pathological shipper, and Goddamn that was a cute pairing! Both seasons had me on the edge of my seat by the end, though!

Another great Netflix cartoon you could check out is The Hollow. It's an adventure/mystery/horror series about a bunch of kids who seemingly don't know each other that wake up in a strange world with all sorts of bizarre inhabitants and they go on an adventure to remember who they are, how they got to this place and how to get back home. It's a really great show and not enough people talk about it.
MGFS has it's moments - it did get a few chuckles out of me here and there - but the DiC dub of Sailor Moon is unironically funnier.
