@THESLGameplays _YT Its not a feminist thing and I didnt mean to imply that. I guess if they continued to portray her character as just the 'cute little sister' there would be a lot of criticism... we've moved on (at least a little) since the 90's (thank God). Also, Dot is now more central to the jokes and story line, more of an active participant. Not all change is bad!
When it was being pitched around to all the animation studios, The people making the Warner Bros cartoon wanted it Specifically to be as close to tradition animation as possible to keep the spirit of the original. The animation is almost Identical to the original just digital, big props to the production team for all the effort put into this show.
Honestly, the reboot doesn’t make the Warners feel too out of character since there were episodes in the original series where they picked on people who weren’t full-on jerks & made more left-winged political jokes: * Clown & Out- The clown wasn’t mean or rude to Wakko. He just scared him * Schnitzelblank- They suddenly started picking on that Otto guy during the song * Cutie and the Beast- There are several jokes where the Warner’s are more jaded & a joke poking fun at the Republican Party Does the reboot need work? Yes, but at least the Warner’s aren’t completely out of character & it’s not as bad as Teen Titans Go or PPG 2016
Meh, there's a few questionable things. The lack of supporting cast besides Pinky and the Brain (yes, they explain it in the show, but still annoying. Let's hope for 2021), there's also a few tiny details missing, like the end credits gag, or how rushed Pinky and The Brain intro is. And some jokes kinda fall flat (i.e. the Russian bots or the Johnny Depp poster). It's not horrible, not in the slightest, there's plenty to enjoy. But you can tell it's a different crew and they have their hands tied on using some things.
@@MichaelMixerMasonGASS Meh, disagree. The reduced cast and, once again, the woke pandering (as small as it was) drag it down quite a bit. But it did have its highlights.
@@keytarnerd yes, BUT IT'S MADE WITH PASSION! and the fact that it's aware that it is a cash grab, it's even better. Everyone loves a show that is self aware of itself
Animaniacs has always been political to some extent, the only reason it feels like it hasn't is because most people were children when they initially watched it and didn't fully understand the commentary at the time. EDIT: I'm not saying that the political commentary is exactly the same or as fair in the reboot as it was in the original, I'm just saying that the show has always had these themes and it's ridiculous to criticize the reboot simply for "making it political" when it's been like that since the beginning.
There’s a like 5 year old compilation on TH-cam called ‘political jokes in pinky and the brain’ or something to that effect. Yeah... it’s always been satirical
Yeah it's nothing new, i watch the original on the hub in the early 2010's, to this day i still think of Bill Clinton as a jazz player thanks to the intro, despite me later learning about him.
The issue with the political thing is this was written in 2018, they didn’t realise everyone would have trump fatigue at this point, and the jokes would all be run into the ground
Nope pretty sure it was jokes about him. So glad his presidency is over so the media can finally shut the hell up and focus on something else, this goes for the late night talk show hosts too. Trump made up way too much of their material. And as a Colbert fan I hope he and the others can get back into the groove of things. Namely not going after the lowest hanging of fruits.
Hulu has a lot of animated shows, that’s why I like it. Has the original Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Lots of Nickelodeon shows, family guy, American dad, Futurama, king of the hill, amongst others. It’s also a good way to watch new episodes if you don’t have cable
Animaniacs was one of those shows I watched religiously back in the day. So for it to be back on our screens, and apparently just as funny as it used to be, is a real joy for me 😊

They do have a biological and physiological difference. Fur stops growing at a predeemined point that is universal all over the body. Hair doesn't. Fur will drop out of the follicle and replace itself on a regular basis, like bird feathers do. Hair does not. Fur is meant to be packed together tightly in order to create a coat that is insulating and water resistant. Hair is not. Fur has a different structure and reflects light differently than hair does, because they are made for different purposes. Signed, A Pedantic Zoologist
It's the shading that's off for me. And finally another person is disappointed Good Idea Bad Idea not being in this season. I hope they eventually bring that back.
I don't know if they own the rights to the character in those segments. One of the original show's producers created the character and had been using it for years before Animaniacs.
A second season was contracted from the start, even the opening shows that, so hopefully they're hearing out critiques for bringing back more characters.
@@abledkey no it’s pretty much the same. It just this generation get easily triggered by political now and days. Look at South Park! They never stop poking fun at politics.
The people complaining about how "politicized" the new Animaniacs is clearly haven't watched the old one in a while, as that one was constantly poking fun at politics and politicians. They made fun of Bill Clinton, Ross Perot, Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi tensions, the news media's coverage of politics, none of it was off limits. Like Saber says in the video, the problem isn't the show, the problem is how people react to those topics now compared to then. Back then it wasn't unusual for people from opposite sides of the political spectrum to come together for a good laugh at their own expense, but these days just looking at someone the wrong way means getting "cancelled" and people are so entrenched in their ideologies that just mentioning the "other side" is a polarizing topic.
It's not just the issue of people overreacting. It's the issue with the way the jokes were written. Even people who had watched the original don't like the political jokes in the reboot to be partisan, badly written, or biased on one side while pandering to the other. It doesn't matter where do you lean toward, if a show pokes fun at one side, say the right, and endorses the other, then that's not political humor, that's propaganda without exaggerating actual flaws to absurdity.
When they were designing the style for the reboot they wanted it to feel like how you thought you saw it instead of what it actually looked like. Loved the reference to Yakko’s world.
Best shot in the ENTIRE reboot: that anime trope of Yakko, Wakko and Dot ALL looking shook on screen at the same time. BRILLIANT. EVERY anime has a moment like that and Im SO glad Animaniacs did it. Also in terms of the songs, best new song, and one of my all time favorites now, is The Reboot Song. I was expecting it go from that slow pace beginning piano to something FAST reminsicent of something like Yakko's World or The President Song for speed. But it was actually a NICELY SUNG slower number. Like WOW Rob Paulsen absolutely KILLS IT during that number.
I’m gonna be honest, I’m someone who never watched the original Animaniacs because when the original came out and ended, it happened before I was born (I was born in 2001 and the show happened in the 90’s) so never had the nostalgia for the show however I did watch a good chunk of the original since the original is also on Hulu so I can get a general idea of the original while going into the reboot and that being said, I think the reboot was great! My favorite thing in the show was that song Dot sang with the old school Warner shows and the Harry Potter joke. That was great!

For how much work they’d put in it’s strange that they’d ignore basic shadows lighting and shading, which even the original has.

EDIT: I'm not saying that the political commentary is exactly the same or as fair in the reboot as it was in the original, I'm just saying that the show has always had these themes and it's ridiculous to criticize the reboot simply for "making it political" when it's been like that since the beginning.

They do have a biological and physiological difference. Fur stops growing at a predeemined point that is universal all over the body. Hair doesn't.
I like jokes about the left despite being on it. Lol probably cause I can see how awful both sides can be.
@R L It's an old pfp I made of that creepypasta. I should probably update it.
There was a Bill Clinton joke in the originals first title sequence, even lmao
They also made fun of Russia in that one episode
It's not just the issue of people overreacting. It's the issue with the way the jokes were written. Even people who had watched the original don't like the political jokes in the reboot to be partisan, badly written, or biased on one side while pandering to the other. It doesn't matter where do you lean toward, if a show pokes fun at one side, say the right, and endorses the other, then that's not political humor, that's propaganda without exaggerating actual flaws to absurdity.
When they were designing the style for the reboot they wanted it to feel like how you thought you saw it instead of what it actually looked like.
