    My sheer admiration for Sophie, Countess of Wessex, has grown over the years. She is such a hard working lady who never cares a dot about getting her sleeves rolled up and her hands mucky. She is a real trooper and sadly never gets the coverage of her countless endeavours. I have heard her speak on two occasions and she did so with almost a quietness, a timidness and honesty about her being. Sophie indeed is a much loved and respected member of our wonderful Royal Family. I know within my heart that she'll be offering her majesty support and love at this very difficult time. More so, she will be a good strong shoulder to cry on for the children and her beloved husband, Prince Edward. I should think that all of those who adored Prince Philip will require our prayers over the coming days and weeks that lie ahead. Having this particular Countess present shall certainly make things perhaps a little more bearable.

    Forgot to say.....when I had friends whose parent had died, died at the end of a great life, I would go to the funeral and truly feel sad. I admit with some shame that I said the usual things, such as "They had a great life" etc. Then my own mother died. I felt like a child again, just like my friends probably felt. The saying is so true, you know that someone is going to pass, but, when it actually happens, it is shock! My heart goes out to the Queen.

      My father died in August 2019, I was 39, my dad 72.. Although I'm an adult with my own children loosing my dad was very hard. You feel like a child when your and hurt or scared the only thing that can make the hurt go away is your parents. It does eventually ease. You carry on with living your own life but the sadness remains in the back of your mind. My cousin lost her father at just 18 years old. I struggled at 39. I cant possibly imagine what it was like for her at 18 its heartbreaking.

    • @MandyJMaddison
      @MandyJMaddison 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      She doesn't need to put her title aside. Part of what she shared with her husbvand was that bond.
      If you watched Ther Crown, and have the idea that at the time of her accession, Philip resented her position and his having to honour her.... then THAT is just one of the lies promulgated by that series.... for the drama of it.
      No, Philip knew from the time that he proposed marriage, that the day would come when his whole duty would be to support her as his monarch, and bow the knee beforte her.
      In ancient times the monarch would have a Champion.. the most noble knight of the realm to take up their causes. Philip was Her Chapion....... and on that day when he first bowed before her as his Queen, He proclaimed hi oath (without a microphone, so that it could be heard clearly by all those lords who were to follow.)... and then, after touching the crown as a sign.... he gently kissed her cheek.
      That moment when he so truly honoured her must have stayed with her all these years.......

      HM can never put her titles aside. It is part of her entire existence. She now needs the support of her family, her Realm and her admirers all over the World. She is a grieving , elderly widow. She does not need any more attention seeking drama and selfishness. We need to show our support and love and silence the trouble makers for once and for all.

It of course felt so sorry for her majesty, but I was viewing old footage of 1965 when the queen dedicated a memorial to the late president Kennedy in England. Many of the Kennedy family attended. I noticed as the were walking to another area where a small grand stand was for her highness to make a few remarks. The duke and young John jr were third in line, and prince Philip took the young child’s hand, perhaps 5 years old, and lovingly held the boys had until they reach the stand. I just thought I was such a compassionate thing to do for such a young man who still might be having difficulties with his fathers untimely death. Just so touching.

      Pity indeed! They don’t make them like him anymore - his sense of duty and responsibility to Queen and country. Respect! Harry the fool was brainwashed and poisoned by his evil gold digger/title seeker wife.

    The surname of the children and their children is Mountbatten-Windsor. Now, more than ever, it's especially important for people to acknowledge this.

    • @reason5591
      @reason5591 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was highly impressed with Harry choosing the Mountbatten name for little Archie 👍

    • @MissMariQueen
      @MissMariQueen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      People have to acknowledge also that the surname Mountbatten was anglicised from the German Battenberg (berg=mountain), as that is where they come from, and as for Windsor, if it hadn't been for George V, they will be still be called Saxe Coburg and Gotha. He changed the name into Windsor because there was a deep anti=German sentiment in the country. People should study history!
