Been busy starting the land forms and altering the track at New Mills Central. The methods used in this video are clearly not exhaustive, these are my methods.
    In this video I:
    - Demonstrate how to remove track stuck down with PVA without causing damage.
    - Demonstrate how the create splines that give hills the basic shape.
    - Demonstrate how to skin the land forms.
    - Demonstrate briefly how I create the land forms for complex areas.
    - Ive even included a VERY short running session, well.. you see couple of trains running at least. Lol.
If you like what you see you may wish to subscribe to the channel, it is completely free of charge and you can be notified when I upload a video.

Great work John, Watching your videos makes me want to get some N gauge models. I need to do some scenery on my layout so watching this is pushing me along. Thank you for all that you do and keep up the really great work!

Thanks Tris, well why not get some N gauge? Some people have used it as a miniature railway on a OO layout, not sure about scale as N is 1/2 OO

    Hi John,
I have been a very good boy and subscribed to the new channel as I think that is in away more to do with mine than the "n" gauge one but of course the scenery methods are just as good for "oo" and all the other gauges out there so will watch both. Keep safe and well.
    Cheers Robert.

Thank you Robert, I appreciate that, yes you’re right. Many people prefer just the one scale hence the separation. I will post two more OO on both channels then split

Hi, no artist colours, emulsion would be quite expensive. Artist colours can start quite cheap and get to silly levels. I get 'graduate' colours from hobbycraft, cant remember the price. Hopjng thats helpful

But 3 days in working well I can easily get in. In fact just fitted point motors, the widely hated surface ones but never the less

how do do you get trains from the fiddle yard up to the scenic part of the layout?

Hi, thank you so very kind. Thanks fir your question. I built a train lift inside the carriage shed, that’s why it’s so long, because I need to get my longest train inside. Eventually I’m hoping to build working doors that rise and fall with the lift. Video of how it was done are in the playlists

Hi just watched this video. So you don’t use plaster bandage. Your method is cheaper do you think

    • @piccadillymodelrailways
      @piccadillymodelrailways  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

Hi, infinitely cheaper, a roll of plaster bandage is around £1.50 starting price for 2 rolls from Hobbycraft ie 75p per roll for 2.7m. Woodland scenic is CONSIDERABLY MORE. If you take a newspaper, photocopy paper etc, etc tear it into strips you easily create many many strips longer than bought modroc. You don’t have to buy newspapers you can get them free. The buses have free papers and in some areas they are delivered through your door. PVA is dirt cheap and stronger than modroc (pl band…). The latter can crack and disintegrate meaning more modroc to repair any damage.
Hundred or more years ago papier mache (with wood) was used in furniture production.
This is my way, HOWEVER, if you feel modroc is the way, go for it with my blessing, we each choose our own ways. Thanks for commenting.

Hi, struggling to link what you are saying, guessing you have car issues, sorry to read that.
Treat each point separately, try not to over think it. One thing at a time. Have you got trains running yet?
