I was probably 5 or 6 the first time I remember hearing The Beatles. My dad listened to all the great classic rock groups around the house, while I was growing up. Still listens, too. While I do enjoy modern music, too, my preference is classic rock now. It’s just so much richer than most things today’s artists bring to the table.
I'm 40 and despite Led Zeppelin being my personal favorite, there are what i call "Big 4" that i'll always be happy to listen to anytime (because to me they're the best bands ever): - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Queen
Best song on the album. Still gets me to this day. Zeppelin spawned a whole lotta imitators, but they played mostly 1/8 note rock. Zeppelin played 1/16 notes; that’s where da funk at!
1971 I was 15 when I first heard this album. My best friend played it for me on his 8 track tape player. I couldn't believe what I was hearing, I had never heard anything like it. We listened to it over and over that night on a tobacco farm in Hinesville Georgia, I was visiting him from Miami Fl. , ( you want to hear it again, "yes"). At the end that night I bought his 8 track tape player, the Led Zeppelin 2 tape for 80.00 dollars, it was all the money I had and I was happy to spend it all on that. Took it back home and played it for months and months . I still love hearing every song on Zeppelin 2. Great reaction you two, you both bring somethings real to your reactions. I was 3 in 71 so I'm trying to do the math...$80 in 1971 has got to be around $1200 today, I'm guessing. Probably more. That's some serious dedication! 🤘🏻
I love this song; the overdubbing is rich, lush, and tasteful. The tapping is Bonzo pattering on something - no one knows what (the 3 have been asked and no one remembers). Some say he's tapping on an empty guitar case, some say his knees, or a stool/chair and I'm sure there's other theories as well. Personally, I think it's an empty guitar case. I love how the acoustic guitar remains throughout even after the electric guitar comes in and those bass punches are killer. According to Jimmy, that smooth, sustaining violin-like tone you mentioned was achieved by him using the neck pickup on his Les Paul with the treble cut and as well as using a sustain-producing effects unit. There are isolated tracks on TH-cam of the acoustic guitar, Jonesy's bass, and I think some of Robert's vocals. Near the end, Jimmy had asked Robert to improvise more lyrics, which is why you can hear him continue through the entire fade out. This is one of their earliest songs where their richness of sound, musicality, and composition shine. It shows a bit of their musical evolution, ingenuity, and confidence to go for something a bit different. Rest assured; you guys are going to have a lot of "favorites" so don't worry about trying to pick just one. Their music is for moods and emotions and you'll find extra meaning in how you apply listening to them.

Hey guys, told you yesterday Ramble On was brilliant, JPJs baseline is haunting, I knew you’d love it. If you’re doing albums in chronological order it’s a bit far away yet but you’ll love Black Dog from 4. Reaction comments are on point. Best channel on the Tube 👍🥂
I used to play this very, very loudly in my car back in HS. I had a pair of house speakers hooked up in the back seat and it that clicking drum beat made me think I was blowing the speakers at first. Good times. Lots of Tolkein references in this song if you look at he lyrics. This and the Battle of Evermore are heavily influenced by Tolkien.
It's the arrangement. Rick Beato breaks down this song . He says it is voice, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums and bass sublimely arranged. The percussion is much discussed with a guitar case thought to be the most likely "instrument". Bonzo playing to be part of the whole which is the other side of his greatness -knowing when to dazzle and when to hold back.
This is an amazing song! It’s great to have reactors really get this song. Rick Beato does “Why is this song so great?” And breaks down each instrument. They’re so much going on that you don’t 30th realize.
It's fun to listen to JPJ's isolated bassline from Ramble On, on You Tube. Also, lines taken from Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit of which he was a big fan (of the books, back then). This is absolutely a killer track; always loved it.

At the two minute mark, yes absolutely man this is got to be one of my favorite Jonesy rambling bass lines. It's just so perfect for this song. And then all those back beats that John Bonham does once they hit the chorus, all those back beats on the kick are just amazing man.
There is a very good live cover by YBR. Sounds almost like Led Zeppelin. Nice to watch. And the band Baby Animals plays it for an interviewer in the wardrobe. 😊

One of my top five LZ songs. I wrote the lyrics to this song on my college dorm room wall as they were tearing down the building at the end of the school year.
Yes it's true. I think Dr Who played a Led Zep track to the inhabitants of planet 'Zing21' ..which freaked them out. It was the year 3074. Apparently he was disciplined by the Timelords Council. :)

Every Led Zeppelin track is of at least equal quality!
I love seeing a couple of guys appreciate the genius of Led Zeppelin. Not 1 album sounds like the other? You cannot say that about most any band? Think about that! You guys love music same as me! Keep the videos coming!
FINNALY A REACTOR HEARS THE BASS LINE !!!! MY FAVORITE SONG BY LED ZEPPELIN
JPJ doesn't get a lot of the respect he is due

John Bonham was a drummer of genius, it’s been rare to find others on his level.
Best driving song of all time. Ramble On!
BEST ROCK BAND EVER.🔥🍺✌️💪🤟🎸🥁
I'm 63 yo female and they never get old. I love to play on road trips and doing housework. My 4 older sisters introduced me to such great music. Timeless....❤
Fantastic musicianship they are on another level on this one
Ramble On has always been my favorite Zep song. Over The Hills And Far Away is another.
One of my top five LZ songs. I wrote the lyrics to this song on my college dorm room wall as they were tearing down the building at the end of the school year.
Zeppelin rules.
"If it sounds good, it is good."

Led Zeppelin's music will forever be timeless.
Yes it's true. I think Dr Who played a Led Zep track to the inhabitants of planet 'Zing21'
..which freaked them out. It was the year 3074. Apparently he was disciplined by the Timelords Council. :)
Ramble On the favourite of so many .. All favourites for me !!
One of the greatest bands ever
Samantha Fish " Highway's Holding Me Now" live at Telluride Blues and Brews festival. Great reaction to Zep.
