Although this video was from three years ago Allulose is still being used by lot's of people with diabetes and to decrease the bad effects of sugar. I tried an organic maple syrup with allulose and it tasted great. Wasn't quite as sweet but still good. I just ordered a bottle of the liquid Allulose to use for different things. It definetly dosen't elevate my blood glucose very much at all. No gastric upset either,

I regularly consumed allulose for a year and a half, in both Keto products and home made dishes without experiencing any gastric side effects. Then I ordered up four boxes of Magic Spoon cereal, sweetened with allulose, upon which consuming gave me diarrhea for a month.

Magic Spoon also has inulin. Inulin is basically the worst thing I've ever ingested when it comes to "gastric side effects," even worse than loathsome xylitol. Unfortunately inulin is in almost every keto/lower carb product out there. Unless it's a tiny amount, I can't have any.

Allulose has been the key to help me lose weight. I’ve lost 27 lbs so far by cutting out sugars completely and replacing them with Allulose. I have also gone low carb in other areas of my diet, but the biggest culprit was the sugary drinks, which I now sweeten with Allulose.
A word of caution - allulose does still have a negative gastrointestinal effect beyond a specific dosage, which I’ve discerned for myself to be around 30-40g per sitting (more than enough for even a sugar addict like me).

Allulose has a low Glycemic Index so you can also subtract the entire value of Allulose from the total carbs per serving when calculating net carbs. Total Carbs (g) - Fibre (g) - Erythritol (g) - Allulose (g) = Net Carbs
April, 2019, the FDA said "Allulose is different from other sugars in that it is not metabolized by the human body in the same way as table sugar. It has fewer calories, produces only negligible increases in blood glucose or insulin levels, and does not promote dental decay."
Also, the FDA said, … we consider that allulose should not be included in the “Added Sugars” declaration, including the %DV declaration. Furthermore, we note that, based on information about usage levels provided in GRAS notices (Refs. 5-7), we expect that the caloric contribution of allulose will be insignificant in most cases and will substantially reduce the amount of total calories and calories from added sugars in products where it replaces those added sugars Therefore, we intend to exercise enforcement discretion with respect to the exclusion of allulose from the gram amount of and the %DV for “Added Sugars” declared on Nutrition and Supplement Facts labels, pending future rulemaking.

I’ve had gut issues for years, heartburn that always returns. Found out about Allulose and made the switch and now I can eat things I haven’t been able to eat in YEARS! This stuff tastes better than sugar in my opinion, I want to give it to my kids because they don’t eat sugar, only stevia and real maple syrup but I know Allulose can cause weightloss so I haven’t given it to them unless they have a bite of what I’m eating. • @CarbageMan

Allulose IS sugar, of a different molecule that you absorb at about 1/10th of actual sugar. This makes it great for recipes that really require sugar, like barbecue ribs, because it actually caramelizes. I think you can actually literally make caramel out of it. It's not "free," calorically, but it's close. I've been using it as an alternative for a couple years.
Oh, the best thing? It tastes like sugar because it IS sugar. It is about 70% as sweet, so I spike it with a little monk fruit sweetener to bring it to 100%.

Here are my pilars of well being. I do not follow a 100% keto diet, but I do adopt the concept to eat alternate foods to manage insulin levels. My diet leans towards the Mediterranean diet.
      1. Hydrate - 3 to 4L per day with water.
      2. Eat Balanced - eat more if exercise is awesome. I do track my macros, focus on high fiber carbs, enough proteins and fats. I need to eat 2,200 calories on a low exercise day and up to 3,000 calories on a high exercise day.
      3. Sweat for 30+ mins a day - I run or lift. Keep it simple. Use the stairs vs the elevator. Walk. Clean your home. Clean your vehicle. I run 80+ miles a month and lift weights twice a week.
      4. Sleep - target 7 to 8 hrs
      5. Make yourself happy.- this may includes removing toxic people from your life. If you have a fantastic active day or hard exercise, treat yourself to a movie or something fun.
Key points is hormone management in the pilars above to lose or maintain weight - melatonin, IhG, insulin, glucagon, leptin, ghrelin among others. keto focuses on insulin, but insulin is not the only solution. I do intermittent fasting as well - I like the 18:6 - and do it a few times a week. Exercise in a fasted state as it speeds up the effectiveness of your metabolism and hormones for metabolic adaptation for your body to burn fat, increase metabolism, increase insulin sensitivity.
Keto is great for weight loss but my opinion is that it is not sustainable. You will face weight plateaus due to metabolic adaptation due to the low caloric intake. You will be challenged with energy levels due to the lack of potassium and magnesium intake in keto. Yes, there is always supplementation, but it is not the same.
      Typical Meals for me:
Breakfast: 3 eggs w avocado, half cup of oats w almond milk and a banana to sweeten it and top it w hemp seeds. Coffee w cream.
Lunch: A good protein (chicken or fish), some times a small salad or a sweet potato and plain greek yogurt w an apple for a dessert.
Dinner: A good protein (chicken or fish), a 4-lb salad (spinach, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cuc, tomato, berries, feta cheese, olive oil, pumpkin seeds). My wife may cook lentils, beans or chickpeas and I usually target a cup serving of a bean or legume but may cut back on the animal protein.
Dessert/Snack: usually cashews or pistachios or greek yogurt or cottage cheese. For sweet snacks, keto ice cream or keto cookies or keto chocolate.
No rice, no breads, no sugars, nothing from a box.
Social Settings: I do plan my food intake ahead when eating away from my kitchen. I do participate and eat birthday cake (10 times a year?) and such or have fettucine pasta at a restaurant (once or twice a year?). But I do balance my macros. 95% of my food is prepared at home. The 5% is when I participate with my family and friends outside of my kitchen.
I eat daily about 250 g of carbs of which 50 g is fiber, 135 g of protein, and 120 g of fats or about 2,500 calories per day to maintain my weight. If I am not that active for a day, I drop 500 calories off, but I am usually moving or exercising anyway. My do flex my meals above because I do get bored. So once or twice a week I will have bacon, fried chicken, other squaches or vegetables, watermelon, papaya, canteloupe, pomagranite, oranges, keto pancakes, homemade pizza, etc.

The liver is supposed to be the number 1 detoxification organ in the body. After drinking alcohol for example it will end up in the liver as the liver behaves as a gatekeeper and filter it lout of the body. The ingredients found in pee and poo mainly comes from the liver and it detoxifying properties. So what he basically meant was that the liver filtered 95% of all allulose out of the body thru urine. So basically it isn't digested or utilized in the body as normal sugar would, you eat it and pee it out. The only reason this could be negative to the liver is only if the organ already has problem doing its job such as in ppl with liver cancer or hepatitis for example (which would be problematic for every other substance such as a Tylenol). Other than that, it's OK!
