- 2023 Topps Chrome is the biggest set of the year. One thing that we all want to know is how much Topps Chrome was printed this year. In this video I break down how many cards of each player were printed in 2023 Topps Chrome. While these 2023 Topps Chrome print runs may not be exact, it is a fun exercise to show the large number of cards that have been released.

Current base cards are worthless. No need to even chase them anymore.
Ohtani chrome psa 10's are almost 10k pop and sell for over $350.

Topps removing pack odds from packs to only the website is very suspect. The info was available to everyone opening a pack, now it'll dramatically decrease to everyone who finds it on their website. Far less people. What's Topps hiding? Massive print run increases from being common knowledge.
They want us to buy the online products as well and going there just might make you do that. I enjoyed looking at how cool my pull would be off of the back of pack odds. The hobby is in a bit of trouble just like our country.

What are the numbers of rare cards ripped by a well known breaker, compared to an average Joe who who ripps box's upon box's as well? Also, if same well known breaker gets card graded at 10, same exact card sent in by joe, gets a 6?
Well I’ve opened 9 blasters and 1 hobby box, not a single Corbin Carroll, Shohei Ohtani or Ronald Acuna yet. Pretty ridiculous.
Modern day "Junk Wax", very OVER-PRICED & stupidly OVER-PRINTED!
I remember there was a set by Pacific where the box stated that only 99,000 of each card were produced. This was in the early-to-mid '90s during the junk wax era. That is a LOT of cards and look where we are now? This is another junk wax era with the only differences being absolutely insane prices for wax and allegedly "scarce" serial numbered cards (we know they print more than the serial number suggests).

@@j_will9 yes many! mostly within the past 2-3 years, there has also been duplicates of 1 of 1's going back to the early 2000's i just heard a guy tell a story thinking he had a counterfeit Ray Lewis rookie auto 1 of 1 he found a guy who had one turns out they were both legit so the guy bought the other one because he really wanted the only copies

It’s different though, we have tons of sets. There’s lots of artwork, variations, and choices. Your base card rookie has lost a lot of value. But if you pick cards that you love and you bargain hunt you can do ok. I think the mindset of these are investments will end up messing more people up than not. Because people tend to make impulsive purchases. It’s human nature. Diversify and have fun. I’m at the point where I need to consolidate my collection.
The odds of someone pulling Rizzo red memorabilia card #3/5 is 0% because I have it 😎
So at this point not just base cards are no value but base refactor also.
They never had value just demand creates value.

I bought 6 blasters and pulled /399, /150, autograph rookie /199, auto rookie /150 and auto rookie /5...
Greed in companies & easy money is thier motive . Do you really care about little bobby???
Some other exclusives you can use to calculate hobby delight and jumbo are the frozen fractors (jumbo exclusive) and youthquake supers (delight exclusive). There are not a lot of breaker delight boxes at all.
Topps caters to Breakers, and it will only get worse for the hobby.
Curious to know everyone’s opinion on radiating rookies on how desirable they’ll be later on. Obviously none of us know, but with all the parallels now since it doesn’t have his flagship image you think they’ll still hold value?
I bought 3 jumbo boxes didn't get 1 Shohei Ohtani lol.
TL;DR: Put the odds back on the packaging.
I have passed on buying Topps retail many times recently because the box/pack doesn't show me any information on what can be pulled. That's a big selling point for me. Some stuff just doesn't have what I'm looking for and I don't feel like scrolling their website to find out during impulse buys. I'll just snag something I'm familiar with or leave with nothing. I have a regular run at my LCS for the hobby products I'm much more familiar with.

New product from 2019 on is over produced junk imo. We have surpassed the 90s level as far as print runs.

Junk wax has never left for common sets.
Forget about print runs, the number of parallels and numbered cards are also increasing every product release it seems.
They are essentially creating the Junk Wax Era of numbered & parallel cards, which is just an awful idea which is bad for the hobby.
I've come to terms with higher print run for paralllel rainbows, its a win win imo - there will always be the low /# stuff(think stuff under a certain number say /99) and there is more color/hits to go around for everyone else.
I think it’s good for the Hobby. PSA , BGS and other graders will start to play a larger role in The Hobby when we talk about “Value”. I’m glad I have a bunch of low value cards because when I sell I can do a bunch of bulk sell offs and have a larger audience to entertain. High cost cards, there’s not a large amount of people looking or better said willing to pull the trigger purchasing. Something to keep in mind. If you ever question a purchase, don’t do it. Save your money and make the I need this purchases. Sorry for my rants this morning I’m aderralld up.
I have purchased 2 hobby boxes of 2023 chrome and have pulled ZERO Ohtani’s.
Based on the odds for legend autos, which come one per case for breakers delight, it can be assumed that there are 1,130 cases of that product also….. assuming there are only /50, /25, /5, and 1/1

We're in the new junk wax era. You guys are just in denial. Parallels, multiple sets, numerous companies making cards now. Everything is over printed and the stuff that isn't is too expensive for regular collectors.

FANATICS wants everyone to be a collector, so print enough for the world... Topps is just a brand name now.... The Court case requiring Topps to publish odds is not applicable to FANATICS. I don't see them releasing odds for long, especially after they buy Panini.

If you were curious to research Breaker’s Delight, the Youthquake insert is exclusive to Breker’s Delight, meaning you could probably do the math if they are on the odds list

Hey Scottie, there are 20 cards in the Radiating Rookies set. Redoing the math puts 10 superfractors in each of the hobby and jumbo formats. My math came out to 9k cases of Hobby, 7.5k cases of Jumbo, 11k cases of value boxes, 340k monster boxes, and 14.5k hobby delight boxes. This would put the base card print run at ~152k. Realistically I think my estimate is a bit low as I can't reconcile the estimated vs. actual numbers on the /99+ base parallels and /250+ auto parallels. If I had to guess the actual number is around 154k with the difference being accounted for by a higher number of retail cases.
Sooooo don’t drop $$$$ on the radiating rookie base cards? Lol

Except i’ve watched numerous cases of hobby, jumbo, and breaker’s delight being opened and TRUE Orange refractors can be found in breaker’s delight boxes.
So unfortunately through no fault of your own, going to be impossible to calculate print runs without making some bold assumptions as to what % of orange refractors made their way into Breaker’s Delight boxes

The number of autos in jumbo this year says everything. They print so much they dont have enough autos to spread out

The Ultra Violet "SSP case hits" don't really look like case hits. There are so many listed on ebay and I've seen people pull them out of blasters also. Oversaturation is wild.
Where do you find hobby delite boxes?
Can you do a story on the market getting flooded with 1/1s. If their are million 1/1s printed doesnt that mean 1/1s are overvalued?

Breakers delight is high risk high reward. Price point is over Jumbo by about 33% based on breaker prices, I think you're better off buying into case breaks of hobbies/jumbo. Fun rip to watch but there's more filler and nameless color than youd like to see for the price.

Hey Scottie awesome video, but what do you think about the odds off the future star auto superfractor. Since there are only 3 on the odds list, there are only 3 odds listed for it. Hobby (1:103,038), Jumbo (1:26433), and Blaster SE (1:497,863). Since they are utilizing suck large ratios the exact number of boxes should be most accurate. They line up really close to your number. And do you think most likely LogoFractor is coming back so those numbers should be higher, since topps has it listed as a qualified parallel for 2023 buyback.
Great video, but in the end there might be even more than that! It's not on the calendar yet, but I don't see them not doing the Logofractor set again... which is a bunch of topps chrome base cards and two logofractor packs.

print runs will keep on going up as long as they are able to sell through most of the run for the year...i think at some point folks will decide the prices are too high but we dont seem to be there quite yet lol.

I am a big proponent of fanatics effort to completely devalue base card rookies. Higher print runs make pulling big cards more difficult and that increases value of those cards. Base cards are for kids bike spokes and numbered and short prints are for collectors. This is the way
theyre doing it on purpose. to make hitting a 1:1 feel golden 😂

These numbers seem low to me. How does it compare to Series 1 / 2 and last year chrome?
They are lower than or equal to last year. The main reason is because last year we had lite and logofractor boxes that had base cards in them. They were replaced this year by the breaker delight boxes which do not have any base cards. There is a chance more formats are released later, but I didn’t see anything about them yet
