    This is probably a dumb question, but what is the texture of these candied lemon slices after drying? Do they stay soft pliable, or are they chip-like?

      Insanely late, but the outer coating is very stiff like, not crunchy but has a waxy chewy texture from the lemons. Really fun texture

      @@mynn_marikit really late but more like a really sticky taffy. It sticks to your teeth. It’s like when a lollipop has been out for too long in the heat and you chew on it.

    Nice idea! Thank you! I took kurkuma to color the slices… they have a shine yellow color. The tip of the spoon is enough.

    It's such a great recipe i loved how the lemons turned out no offense but I like th taste of them just when I take them out of the pan I let them chill for 2 minutes or until they kinda cooled down and it was amazing and I only let mine cook for 10 minutes 🤣🤣😂😂🙈

    i followed another recipe where you add some lemon juice. and only cook it for abour 15 minutes. used up 2 lemons. not that happy with how it become. didnt look done after 15 so i turned up the heat a lil. but this seems more accurate.

    How long do these last? I'm making them for a garnish on cupcakes. Are they safe to be left out on the cupcakes for display? What if I made them a day early. Will they hold their shape and taste?

      @@trudydent4070 True, but they were asking if they could keep them out on display, perhaps for a day or so, or will it ruin the cup cake (smear/smug, liquid running down the sides etc) :)

      I would think in a cool environment, I'm not sure if the glaze from the lemons will stain or leak, and yes this is a OVER 1 year reply ;)

    you should boil the lemons 2 or 3 times changing the water every time, before u mix them with suggar... try it

      I’m really late, but yes you can eat all of the lemon, even the peel. And it would probably be mostly sweet with like a hint of sour

    Channel knife around sides gives an almost floral appearance and you can candy the strips.

      I have never tried haha! The idea is to have a sugar syrup base, I have a feeling lemonade will be too run down for it to work. Just my theory though!

    i did this but idk where i went wrong. i was watching it the whole time and it was on low-mid heat. all of a sudden it burned, i’m gonna try again soon tho!
    a shame that i used all my lemon tho LOL

      hi lovely! Yes you can :) the colour of grapefruit is very strong though, so you would be stuck with the red / deep orange colour most likely.

    Mine turned out hardened... not comfy to chew..n the syrup also evaporated so not much to preserve them.. how do u preserve yours .. dint see this in the video..

    I don't think you need to add water at all. Just put your lemon in the pan first. Then add sugar. The sugar will melt by the water content in the lemon.

      use it as a lemon simple syrup for cocktails- it would be lovely with vodka or gin
