What did you mean when you said "were also a little high for him as well" speaking of Tim Foust... He was trained as a tenor before being trained as a bass. Tim has a very wide range, I think he can go between 6 to 8 octaves ... Later on, check out Mayday... th-cam.com/video/znoV5gND9g0/w-d-xo.html
What I love most about HF is every time Austin climbs the rafters Tim goes basement diving and it's gorgeous! On "I am" Tim does a basement run that is off the charts to match Austin and Rob. Soooo wonderful! Are you doing Alde Lang Syne at New Years? Their cleanest vocals ever and Rupp is harmonizing.
Hi Jennifer my name is John and I appreciate your reaction and knowledge of how the men of Home Free did this amazing version. Food for thought give a listen to”The Driver” they were incredible. Everything with their tone and video to go with this song. Speaks volumes.
I personally LOVED this rendition! I liked Tim leading, and the trio in front! Chance was so good in back. Adam Rupp is a freak of nature and wonderful! I appreciate the different way this was sung. IT WAS A MASTERPIECE! I think MARK LOWRY, the person who wrote this beautiful, holy song will like it very much. THANKS FOR YOUR REACTION.
A bit of history; "Mary, Did You Know?" is a Christmas song addressing Mary, mother of Jesus, with lyrics written by Mark Lowry in 1984, and originally Mark used the lyrics on Christmas cards. Later on he requested of several friends if someone could put music to his lyrics. The music was written by Buddy Greene in 1991. It was originally recorded by Christian recording artist Michael English on his self-titled debut solo album in 1991. At the time, English and Lowry were members of the Gaither Vocal Band, and Greene was touring with them. The song reached Number 6 on CCM Magazine's Adult Contemporary Chart. Lowry would record the song several times himself, most notably with the Gaither Vocal Band on their 1998 Christmas album, Still the Greatest Story Ever Told. Lowry also recoded it with 'Voctave' while sitting due to being stricken with MS. This was an incredible feat in itself and well worth viewiǹg, and reacting to! 👌 Love your reactions! 😎
I loved this. It was so beautifully done. Loved the simple setting, so serene. Loved the harmonies. Gave me chills. Great reaction Jennifer and I subscribed.
Beautiful reaction! This is another of my favorite covers by Home Free. This song is just so beautifully done, & they do it so well! I love the way they stretch each other’s talents so much in every song they do, showing off all of their abilities in almost every song. Keep the Hone Free reactions coming! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻 #HomeFryForlife
Your first Home Free? Welcome. Come to the dark side, we have Tim. If you feel like this group might be one you’d enjoy I’d suggest ‘Man of Constant Sorrow’ to start you off on your journey. Maybe you could do it as ‘guitarist reacts’ or something. I wish I’d done that when I started listening to them.
On the line at the end “How great I am” that was Tim, Rob and Austin with Austin being the highest part, even if they showed Rob on screen. Very good reaction/analysis as always, look forward to seeing you soon with more Home Free and voiceplay.
I got rather tickled when you were talking about Tim (around 4:16), saying it was getting "quite high for him"... *chuckles* Just so you'll know, he's got a 5+ octave range; sounding good, too - no screeching or straining. He's got a doowop album that would shock you. 😉 He has extremely good control; I think he was doing that to keep his voice quiet/small at the beginning of the song. 😍
Congratulations!!! You are the first reviewer I have watched to mention Tim starting with a low growl a split second before coming up to Note. Good job.
I really love the way you explain things you don't make it sound like your philosophy professor using terms that I can't even spell or repeat much less understand. And as long as you're reacting to home Free then I will be here listening. Basically cuz that's pretty much all I listen to on here. I write and record songs myself and they give me ideas as to ooze and ours and where I can put them to add a little bit of substance to these songs that I'm recording. what you doing a great job with home Free and I do appreciate it a lot.
Definitely my favorite version of this song. Wonderful breakdown as usual, Jen. And a Friday upload to boot! You're obviously possessed by the Christmas spirit! 🤩
Good for you to have this exposure platform. I sit in wonder with your videos. You almost hypnotize me. The blue sweater looks marvelous. Merry Christmas.
These boys can cover almost every octave, from a deep basso profundo, to almost a high whistle, and harmonize like no others on the notes in between. They create a totally unique sound that puts them apart from other acapella group. I'd like to suggest their fabulous cover of Do You Hear What I Hear, it is fabulous both vocally and visually. Happy Holidays 🎄🎁
Love this version. I would love to see you also react to Voctave's version with the original lyricist, Mark Lowry, as guest soloist. He holds notes for over 20 seconds at two different points in the song!
Home Free did an earlier version of this song on an album from 2010. This was pre-Austim & Tim. Chris and Adam Rupp were members as was Rob, but there were two other members. Adam's beat boxing on this earlier version is even more astounding. It had a real hip-hop vibe. It was from a two album collection Christmas vol 1 and Christmas vol 2; 1 blue cover, 1 red cover, no videos as far as I know.
I love all the information you give us. thank you. I would love to hear your reaction to Tim's solo video of a doo-wop song Come Go With Me. It's all acapella & all Tim.
Hi, Jennifer. I have been listening to your covers and you are absolutely amazing. It's been a while since you have reacted to a Home free video so I wanted to let you know about the eargasm you will be missing. They do an excellent rendition of "Helplessly Hoping."
I really enjoyed your reaction. Home Free is incredible in everything that they do. Early on you mentioned that you're now hooked on a cappella and will be listening to other groups. May I suggest that you check out Voctave (a larger a cappella group) and their rendition of Mary, Did You Know featuring Mark Lowry, the gentleman who actually wrote the lyrics to the song. I'm not looking for you to say one version is better than the other, but it is interesting to see how the actual lyricist interprets his own song. Another good Voctave Christmas offering is O Come All Ye Faithful, which features EJ Cardona, one of their incredible tenors. You will not be disappointed.
Just now digging into your channel, loving it. If you haven't heard it yet, please check out the version of this song by Voctave and Mark Lowry (Mark wrote this song).
Jennifer, another great review. Chance has one of the more versatile voices in the group. He assists with beatboxing and with his register allows him to cover bass through lyric baritone. You need to review or at lest listen to, Home Free, " Helplessly Hoping".
If you love Home Free you might want to also check out Pentatonix (especially the older videos with Avi Kaplan as the bass singer) and VoicePlay with basso profundo Geoff Castellucci
Hope you will check out the a cappella group called Voctave. They are top tier, and their version of O Come All Ye Faithful is my absolute favorite! :)
Another great Christmas song by Home Free is "Full of Cheer" and the song you heard part of at the end of "Man of Constant Sorrow" is really fun and called "Champagne Taste." I love your reactions! And one of my favorite covers is "Try Everything" - I like it better than the original :)
If you love acapella groups you should react to citizen queen’s - don’t call me angel, they are an all girl group started by Scott voting from pentatonix and they are fantastic!!!!
It seems as if you know the boys, so now may be the time to react to their cover of Mayday (if you haven't seen it yet). You don't even need to comment, I think we'd all just like to see your first time watching it.
I’m not sure she’s ready yet, only 4 Home Free videos + misty mountain. Definitely want to see your reaction, Jennifer but feel you could do with another 2-3, maybe 4 more songs. For which I’d suggest ‘End of the road’, ‘American pie (feat. Don McLean) and for the Christmas spirit ‘do you hear what I hear?’
Jenneifer Great reaction and break down of the song as alway, Home Free all have great vocals but for me Adam's beatboxing and Chance covering base was my favorite Chance hit some low notes there which didnt get a mention
Love your reactions 😀 Very Informative 😊 Thank you for this reaction.. If possible please do checkout their rendition of O Holy Night, Do you hear what i hear, Christmas in Dixie Live ft Alabama and Beautiful star of Bethlehem ft Oak Ridge Boys... I know these are a lot but if you can't react to them definitely give them a listen before Christmas 😊⛄🎄 Merry Christmas to you and your family..
Can you please react to the Pentatonix version of this song ? I love Home Free but in my opinion the Pentatonix version just hits on a whole different level ❤️
Do accents affect your analysis. Like Austin and Tim have the "Country twang" so the pronounciation will obviously differ from how a southern english would say/sing some words (as you quickly mentioned)
Different accents will lean to different placements of sounds. So one may sound a little more lifted perhaps, due to country twang 😊 it won’t affect my analysis, I’ll keep it in mind though!
As much as I love home Free, Pentatonix does this one better. You should react to Home Free's Oh Holy Night. This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.
Mary did you know that your baby boy will become a god?? And definetely ou yourself will become : a GOD'S MOTHER. Or a MOTHER GOD. (Were those English???) (Or we're all dumb???)
A video upload on a FRIDAY?! What is this madness!! Must be Christmas... :)

@@bryanhuff2010 ,,, Well, she corrected that with a printed message on the screen. Last I heard he can do 5 Octaves.
@@davidleatherneck Thank you for your input... I was also giving her another song to react on, showing more of his talent in a higher register...
Austin had that highest note near the end, by the way. 🙂
It is eight octaves. Very versatile.
Loved Chance on the bass for the duration of the song, while Tim did all his solo parts. Deep and rich in tone. Great job.
The thing I love about Adam is that he adds so much depth to every song without overpowering the song.
I love what Adam is doing . His little space noises are awesome
I love this song all times of the year. You are helping me to appreciate the little things that make HF performances so good.
Thanks 😁
They’re all awesome but Tim is perfect! He really pulls is in well to let the others continue selling it
Great reaction. They are awesome😊
This is my favorite version
Thanks for the review.
This is my favorite version of this song.

Thank you! And thanks for subscribing 😁
those bass slides were chilling!!!!
Country acapella band goes hard R & B ... That's what this is. It's harder than even End of the Road.
Beautiful reaction! This is another of my favorite covers by Home Free. This song is just so beautifully done, & they do it so well! Love your reactions. Very informative. The song was beautifully sung as well. Thank you 🙏🎼🎶🎄🎵
Thank you😁
First time hearing them and wow, I'm blown away by their voices, especially the one guy with that low deep voice. 😀
So great! 😁

When you have time watch Adam Ruff from Home Free do a vocal drum solo! They are doing a awesome job with Mary Did You Know :). Love them 😊
"Thumbs up" at 3rd second :) Great! Now watching the rest...
You can hear more of Austin's high notes in Home Free's version of "When A Man Loves A Woman".
Love you ❤️ so original like u so much!
On the line at the end “How great I am” that was Tim, Rob and Austin with Austin being the highest part, even if they showed Rob on screen. Very good reaction/analysis as always, look forward to seeing you soon with more Home Free and voiceplay.

My favorite Christmas song with a little Home Free magic! Happy Holidays!
I love your reactions, thank you for bringing us along.
Also, thank you for showing some love to Home Free.
Merry Christmas from Florida.

A fresh and exciting take on an old, boring classic. Thanks Home Free and thank you for the reaction. Cheers.!

When they make videos, they do sing the song so that it looks right. Even if they aren't recording the song for the video at the same time.
That makes sense and what I’d hope would happen 😊
Thank you for your commentary. Love Home Free. Have you heard PTX's version of this?
If you havent checked it out, react to Do you hear what I hear
Love this version. I would love to see you also react to Voctave's version with the original lyricist, Mark Lowry, as guest soloist. He holds notes for over 20 seconds at two different points in the song!
Love the rendition and your analysis but then I could watch that pretty face of yours for hours. Merry Christmas
If you haven’t done so already, check out Voctive’s version with Mark Lowry (who wrote the song).
Austin is singing that b4. 😁

You should listen to How Great Thou Art by Home Free.
Austin is singing that high B!
You need to check out vocative singing this with Mark Lowry. He is the co-writer of this song
Really interesting to hear this rendition and the Pentatonix rendition one after the other. I prefer this one, but the PTX version is also nice.
The b you heard on the high note was AUSTIN not Rob.
Just now digging into your channel, loving it. If you haven't heard it yet, please check out the version of this song by Voctave and Mark Lowry (Mark wrote this song).

Snow globe, absolutely do snow globe!!!!
I do like the PTX arrangement but this beats it.

It is a reaction video Jim...just sayin. haha.
I think they leveled up during the song...lol Area 51 called and wants Home Free back...
PLEASE CHECK OUT TIM FAUST’S FULL DOO WOP ALBUM 💿 IT’S ALL JUST HIM
How does a brit not listen to Auld Lang Syne by Home free? Happy New Year, Jennifer!
I’ve only just learnt the song for our New Years Eve gig 😂
Could you react to Pentatonix Amazing Grace
As much as I love home Free, Pentatonix does this one better. You should react to Home Free's Oh Holy Night. This is the best version of this song I have ever heard.
Hi Jennifer, it's an ok version but please check out The PENTATONIX version as I love theirs better.

you need to choose your cuts better.
I know it's a "reaction" but a bit too much stopping. BUT, still ok, tho.
They have stolen the swell and drops from PTX which is pretty unoriginal sadly.. works with the OG PTX but I’m seeing many doing this since.
I know you’re examining the singing , but you’re cutting the meaning of the words…
Sorry but there is more bass than you can hear. A man can't sound like a woman, for example.
It’s ok this but they have blatantly taken way to much out of PTX version creating this…. Also Tim is taking to much lead…
U take way roo much
I need lessons.!!!!
