Yeah in that case it might be a good idea for Indian railways to fence in more lines and provide more grade separations to allow higher top speeds. 160 is already really good for Indias standards but just imagine if this was pushed even further to allow 200km/h operations on these lines.

Haven't you noticed that Indian trains comes in different classes and categories, small journy to long, shorter one mostly have seater coach and long one (1-3days) have bed means sleeper class, within they comes in different classes like 1st Ac, 2nd Ac, 3rd AC , Non AC sleeper and general class (who can't afford other tickets) and all are sleeper coaches. And check out any of the luxurious trains that India have, cause some of them are included in world's most expensive and luxurious trains like Maharaja Express, Deccan Odyssey, Rajasthan on wheels, Palace on wheels, Orient express, Fairy Queen etc.... these are the best of the best Indian trains.

Those trains are categorized as luxurious. Even rich people can't afford it. Those are only made for 'Royal Class'. Which is why Indian government is providing these semi-luxury trains like the 'train 18, Gatimaan, Shatabdi, Double-decker, Rajdhani etc, that even middle classes can afford.

500 years is too long a timescale to think about, especially with the exponential pace of technological progress. Humans are very bad at intuiting exponential trends. 500 years later entire humanity might already be in a post-scarcity society and the current infrastructure would have been replaced many times over. Trains would be distant history, as would these seemingly impressive monuments.
*Consider this, the Akshardham Temple today and even the first Lunar colonies humans will build in the next three decades, will both be older 500 years from now, than the Taj Mahal is today (some 350 years old).*
I wouldn't be surprised if by then, humanity is already building its first Dyson Swarm while also terraforming Mars. Compared to those endeavors, these monuments will be nothing.

500 years SMH. Climate change will devastate India in 50 years - temperatures soaring as high as the Sahara Desert. India already has 32% of its land under degradation and 25% undergoing desertification. Large parts of Mumbai, Surat and Kolkata could go under water or be ravaged by recurrent floods by 2050. Sub-tropical and densely populated regions like South Asia will suffer the most. Humanity - the part that survives will be forced to migrate to the temperate regions.

    Awesome coverage as usual!
    Notes:
    - The announcement at 11:47 is regarding "Coolie service" other piece of India's colonial history under the British. Coolies are people you see with bright red shirts that help and assist travelers with lots of luggage for a fee.
    - The Loco WAP-5 is actually Swiss technology transferred by ABB and is a very close cousin of the SBB Re 460. WAP-5 has a maximum speed 200 km/h tested with Talgo coaches.
    - The coaches are LHB with Fiat Bogies a German technology transfer sharing most DNA with DB coached from 1970's and some even with latest Siemens Viaggio coaches used by Railjet.
    Critics:
There is just way too much room to improve...
SERVICE : Actually on par or sometimes even better than what DB offers here in Germany
HYGIENE : I have actually seen worst on Regio services during summers (the whole 9€ fiesta)
MAINTENANCE: India can do way better but it seems Europe once on the top has really given up with shabby windows and horrible graffiti even on ICE and TGV sets.
TURNAROUND TIMES: Something to genuinely learn from the Europeans. Trains in India notoriously sit on the platforms for hours on end blocking traffic.
SAFETY: So much to be desired.
CONNECTIVITY: Europe is an example for the world. The S-bahn, the trams lines are above the Hbf, bus stop next to it, U-bahn under it and more example Berlin HBF.
SPEED: Much to learn for India with one of the worst AVG speeds of all.
QUALITY: Technology wise yes, Europe is one of the best out there
My point: I agree with you when you "It can easily brought up to European standards" as it is not that high of a bar at all.
What I would desire for Indians understand they mostly responsible for the situation of Indian trains and also that the long term goal should be to reach the Koreans, Chinese or the Japanese systems.
I requires great political and social intent by fellow Indians to improve, develop and maintain the standards of Indian Railways - The life line of 1.4 billion people

Well, to be fair, many Indian trains equipped with LHB coaches and running on trunk routes (Mumbai - Delhi, Delhi - Howrah, Ahmedabad - Delhi, Chennai - Howrah, Bengaluru - Chennai, etc.) run at 130 km/h which is the maximum track speed, no matter if they are fully AC or not. And, LHB coaches have now almost become the norm on IR.
The Delhi - Agra line is cleared for 160 km/h operations because it has higher capacity OHE wires (currents more than 800 A can be drawn by the locomotives) and the route is fully fenced against cattle. The Mumbai - Delhi route via Ratlam, Kota is almost completely fenced now, too with better OHE and signaling system. By next year, many long stretches on that route will be cleared for 160 km/h operations. Maybe you might want to check that out later.
EDIT - One more thing, the WAP5 locomotives are capable of running at 200 km/h with a load of 16 coaches. They are essentially an underpowered version of the Swiss Re 460 locomotives.

Bro premium chair car trains cover the distance from and to vise versa on the same so for singal day trip indian railways have chain car servise and premium trains are Gatima express, shatabdi express and Vanda Bharat which cover up and sown journey in same day.
Hope that gives you the clarity also Indian railways is working in increasing the speed of trains to 200 KM per hour shortening the time duration between the origin station and destination station and improvement also includes service onboard entire train management.
You can agree everything takes time and we are moving forward and things are getting better in India.

Well your review certainlyseems more positive than what I'd have to say. Its good that India is improving its infrastructure, but the trains really need mass modernisation. Though I doubt this is viable at this stage given Indias issues with poverty. And even though the situation is getting better, it'll take quite a while to reach comparable standards as other places. But newer urban rail systems like the Metro lines and the Dehli RRTS show that India can have modern and inviting trains.

You took this trip two months ago, but your information is wrong. Gatimaan is not our fastest train as it averages 91 kmph or about 56.875 mph, the fastest is the Vande Bharat, our semi high speed train running between New Delhi and Varanasi which covers 760 km in exactly 8 hours @ 95 kmph or 59.375 mph. Second, Agra Taj Mahal is indeed a very popular tourist destination but as a religio-tourist destination mostly for domestic n foreign Hindu tourists, Tirupati temple attracts at least 70-75,000 tourists every month, registering at least 8.4 million visitors per year and is far more popular than Agra Taj.
