This was the first unit produced of the train set. Newer trains which are rolling out have all these issues fixed. Example fittings coming loose, ride quality have been matched on par with Europe with old tracks. Traction systems have been upgraded. Newer tracks are being laid. By 2030 this will look completely different.

2030 : 50 - 55 billion $ approx.
Indian Railways is improving rapidly
In next some years
Indian Railways will be completely transformed
I can't wait 😻
@@NonstopEurotrip I am excited too 🤩
transformed how?
@@serenity8145 You may not feel difference.
But the people who are using railways from years can only see the difference.
@@serenity8145modern amenities will be introduced, with world class train stations, beautiful trains, awesome coaches, bullet trains, hyperloop plus a wide network of metro trains in all the major Indian cities.
For a railway network that carries over 7billion people, it has been in the deepest slumber for so many decades. I wonder why? VB trains are much needed upgrade and a great alternative to those who can afford it and there are plenty. But IR still has a long way to go to catch up with the rest of the world. It also presents a massive opportunity to develop from tracks to stations and trains. Even its logo which is stuck in a time warp with a steam engine, needs a refresh!
Agreed. But they're definitely heading the right direction!!!
I agree for most part, but nothing looks better than a good old steam locomotive, and on that account, we disagree.
has been in deepest slumber because of congress.
Excellent!, very good memories, if indeed in 1985 I used the "express" Delhi to Varanasi and if I remember correctly, it took about 16 hours, from 19 hours or 7 pm. until the next day at 11 hours in the morning or 11 h. am in wooden bunk car under the fans, but I keep very good memories.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
@@NonstopEurotrip De nada!😅😉

India will build a train line in the Philippines hoping for this train set.
I hope so!!
These initial rolling stocks were meant to feel the market and test the durability of the train sets itself. Once feedback was received from engineers and customers several improvements were made before they finally decided to mass produce them.
Hopefully more improvements will continue to be made!
@@NonstopEurotrip these ones are actually like the V1.0 , the new version comes in a more saffron orangish color, a sleeper class train of Vande Bharat with more premium interior design is also being made and launched in coming year or two. There is also a Vande Sadharan which is a revamped and aesthetically improved Engine design has also been launched and will be put through the grind, which since India has every kind of weather the world has to offer, will give a bucket load of inputs to make it even more competitive to the current decade old engine designs.
Thank you for your honest comments. I think maintenance has always been an issue with indian railways. Building something is one thing, but to keep it looking clean and upgraded is a whole another story. The beat up train is an eyesore and surprised that the authorities do not have a dept to upkeep the look of the trains. But overall a great improvement from 10 years ago.
At least they replaced it already 😀
Yes, as I understand it, the Indian railway is the largest, or second largest government employer in the world. There is so much infrastructure to administer over that something will fall through the cracks such as maintenance and proper training. The last news I heard is 288 people were killed.
Actually its dishonest comments. By this TH-cam channel standard other world should start calling America country of mentally unstable person since so many school shooting and drug related death there. Actually China does it right now and I now get the point why does it. specially that Ohio rail derailment that ended with mini nuclear blast like explosion and toxins in surrounding including water
Singapore dictator Lee Kwan Yu told that upkeep and maintenence was very important.
@@thegreatgatsby8180 Not a dictator.
I have travelled on VB a couple of times, from Pune to Mumbai & while it felt so much better compared to other train journeys in India, its still not the 'World Class' or 'European' level that they claim. Some people complain about the food quality but I think for the price of the tickets, its very good. Things were a bit plasticky & safety standards needs more attention. I hope the next generations will have the lessons learnt & provide improvement.
I agree, in a few years it could be great!
I generally pay attention to safety standards,
what did you observe lacking in terms of safety?
Try finding a train of this level and standard or even somewhat close to it anywhere else in the developing world , in Sub Saharan Africa, South Asia or Southeastern Asia (minus China Japan South Korea or SingaMalay) that's completely indigenously manufactured.
@@MrAgolikeriYou think VB is indigenous? 😂
@@globetrotterbengaluru 90% indigenous with a bit of Japanese and German assistance. Hitachi and Siemens to be precise. That said, most countries nowadays rely on foreign tech for their infrastructure so it's a perfectly normal thing
Simply magnificent and a coincidence.
I reached Varanasi today myself for my holidays.😅
Have fun 😀
@@NonstopEurotrip Thanks friend.
Loved the video. The major issue with Indian Railways is that it must cater to both a new emerging demographic of indians who are rising in both personal economy and purchasing power, and to the economically weaker sections of society to whom trains like these are dream journeys. So to strike the right balance there is an undertaking 76 years in the making with no end in sight.
But this VB trainset and the new Dedicated Freight Corridors are proving to be much needed catalysts towards infrastructural upgrades and we’re hoping that atleast by the end of the decade, india would have a foot in the door of high(er) speed railway transportation..
Progress is definitely happening!!!
well, you still manage to provide what is in many ways a world-class service....
Recovering from a serious viral infection can take a month. We had over two hundred years of colonial plunder, and you think that in 76 years we'll reach the level of those colonizer nations who, by the way, built all their infrastructure from what they looted from here and other ex colonies!
I think Indian Railways is fantastic and I tried Hyderabad - Tirupathi Vandhe Bharat during my recent Indian trip. The train is comfortable with a lot of leg space. The price may be high but with food and all, it just makes up. Many people complain about the train design, especially at the front but do not understand that it is built with Indian conditions in mind. People go over the railway gates, unfenced by 115000s km of track, and animal hits since over 35000 kms pass through forest reserves made them go with the not-so-awesome design. But the train is really comfortable with no shakes and quiet inside. Also, the maintenance may be an issue but they are doing well. Replacing tracks over 123000 km takes forever and a huge investment is needed. As a foreigner, I do not understand why Indians are the kind who complain about everything even when they have a non-corrupted central government working hard for their country but go with parties who give freebies. VB is very much needed for progress in such a vast country. However, with their tracks saturated to over 150-200%, they should not launch new trains but replace their existing premium trains. It gives time for people in the lower middle class and others to increase their income as the country grows.
Thank for sharing ✌🏻😎
Who told you that our Central government is non-Corrupted 😅😅😂😅😂😅
So the BJP is not corrupt? Yep 😂

The train is designed for 160kmph but clearence for such speed is only on fenced track.Since we dont have much of our track fenced the train was purposely designed to take hit from cattle. The hit damage is designed to affect the cone only so that the loco pilot and passenger remain safe which can be replaced overnight.
Let's hope more track can be fenced soon 😃
And if u want to explore India with luxury the best option are trains such as Maharaja express or the Deccan Odyssey,I think u will love it, thought it's completely different from normal train rides anywhere in the world and super expensive for us indian but in the end it's all about the experience.

The artwork is govt drive to enhance the Railway station experience. Local artists contributed to them with some not charging money for it as well. Even though there is still a lot of work to be done on these trains like rail track expansion for faster speeds. Vandhe Bharath is value for money if you consider the cost of Private buses for the same route.
Thanks for the information ℹ️
They are coming uo with newer upgraded ones… these first set were more like for testing purposes
it is a huge upgrade in terms of facilities and travelling experience, considering how India travels in other train services.
Give me a Tejas Rajdhani anyday
@@NonstopEurotrip Tejas Rajdhani , Duronto and Vande Bharat are all premium service trains, catering to a small percentage of Indian population that has the availability and affordability. Nearly 95% of the people travel in 3AC coaches or lower classes (Non AC sleeper, Unreserved seating) coaches.
@@MrAnshulji they are supposed to be normal service trains on modern day premium trains that are luxury trains
@@NonstopEurotrip Why do you say that? Is it because of sleeper vs seating or is it a different reason?
Also I believe as Indian Railways is rapidly transforming, you can review some of the scenic routes you like. There are many especially on coastline, mountains and deserts 😊

Just seeing its insights and whole video make me wonder how magnificently our government built this first semi High speed rail can't wait to travel with it hoping for near August of first week btw great video ❤
Ahhh... thanks for the mention. Hugely enjoyable video as always.
Thank you Paul! Keep doing your thing 💪🏻
The set you rode is one of the prototype models, that is why there were those issues. Most of these have been replaced now with production versions which are perfect. These prototypes were deployed to gain real world feedback from the people and travellers, and then implementing those changes to the mass production ones.
Anyways, now Indian railways have moved onto the Vande Bharat 2, which have several improvements over this.
I suggest you try it, especially the Mumbai one, that ride has some of the most beautiful scenery in India.
Also, these are semi high speed trains, high speed lines are under construction with the first part being operational in 2026. It will use the Japanese Shinkansen E5 trains, but the latter high speed lines are to use the indigenously built high speed trains.
So why didn't they use a better train on the flagship route?
Love the voiceover format, thanks!
Glad you like it Sonja 😀
While European trains may be superior and fast , but what do you get , recently travelled from Milan to Zurich around 220 kms by first class by tranitalia paying €46 (Rs 3600) what you get is a biscuit and a drink , same case in my earlier travel from Rome to Napoli by Freccoarossa first class , Indian trains are anyday better from an overall value for money !!
Everyone values their money differently I guess!
I think you travelled early morning. They do NOT give snacks later in the day.
I think switching to voiceover has revolutionised the last couple of videos. It makes them more engaging, it feels as though i'm actually with you for the ride and to be honest makes me want to watch your videos more as without sound they are a bit...boring (if i'm honest). I've gone from maybe watching your videos to now being sure i'll watch each new release! Keep up the good work mate!

Good stuff. Been Following your Channel for a while now, and enjoy the content very much. I've noticed a steady improvement in quality - the voiceovers are taking it to another level IMO. Well done and thanks.
That's great to hear Bob!! ✌🏻
Vande Bharat is not highspeed but semi high-speed
It is actually fantastic value for money. You get proper meals served to you which are included in the ticket, in a comfortable train for long distances and convenient times.
That average monthly income figure is misleading as extremes skew the average. India has a big lower middle and middle class which can afford these trains.
It is certainly better than flights, which do not give even half a good service as this for the prices of their fares.
Thanks for the comment ✌🏻

Thanks! I've already tried the VB 2.0 🙏🏻😄
India is still a lower middle income country. We cannot compare it to European trains as of now. Still 10-15 years of continuous growth should made it to a decent standard. However, the Vande Bharat is a massive improvement to the previous trains. With changing habits of the people and the growing middle class and a sense of sophistication within the middle class should improve the railway standards. This is a clear fact check.
However, the speed improvement can only happen with track realignment and traffic decongestion which would be a longer process.
I believe the Rajdhani trains are better tbh
And yes, they need grade separation badly
@@NonstopEurotrip why though?
@@user-ob7ln5vi6j so they don't hit cows and people every day
@@NonstopEurotrip they definitely are! They are the most priority passenger train in india! You cannot judge all of our new trains with just one vande bharat.
You have travelled in the Vandhe Bharat express, which was incidentally the first one. Later editions have modified ones and almost all the major cities are connected now. Maintenance is the issue as you said. However think of 68000 plus KM railways and more than 4000 trains run every day. I presume entire Europe with 50 plus countries put together will not have these numbers. One Minister in Centre Heads the system and almost 40000 direct employees work for the Indian Railways. The country trying privatize few trains and there are opposition. Yet every thing is online for railways, including ticket booking, Food booking, room booking, etc. Reserving tickets and arranging travel for about 6 million people a day needs a big applause..
I agree, it's very impressive but with a few small tweeks, it could be even better! I've been on a 2.0 set also ✌🏻

For everyone complaing about damaged train, this is the first prototype of this train. It has been through some intense situations, like hitting animals while testing for top speed etc. Newer version of Vande Bharat's are nice and clean and not like this one.
They're better for sure, hopefully they will continue to improve!
This one was the first rake which was lauched 3 yrs back.. now the recent 16 rakes are brand new .. once the order is completed or partially finished then a new rake will replace this one … confirmed by railways
As mentioned in the video, it's already been replaced
But what will happen with this old one?
According to Railways master plan.
Government wants to run around 4,000 Vande Bharat express by 2047.That means all express trains will be replaced by Vande Bharat. express.
I hope they keep improving the models!
It is not a High speed train. It is a semi high speed train with a maximum tested speed of 184 km/h and a max service speed of 160 km/h between Hazrat Nizammuddin and Agra Cantt. High speed trains would be those that do a minimum of 220 -250 km/h on regular service runs. Also our 220 speed capable train and test track is getting ready.....so stay tuned
Indeed yes, can't wait to try them!
Most middle class people would be able to afford these fares if they don't travel often. Given our population, this segment is large enough to drive demand
I hope so, and that it grows more and more!
@@NonstopEurotripyeah its Not ! As an middle class such long route its deal breaker as a Maharashtrian its very affordable !

Recycling has been a big thing in India for about as long as I remember. Not only cans but bottles, others, paper everything. Many people made a living out of it. It's called raddi (papers , newspapers mostly) and kabadi (metals , glass and other items)
@@SeeLasSee India is both a big producer & recycling centre for Aluminium.
Before commenting on the quality of train , first you need to understand the circumstances in which Indian trains operate. In order to increase the speed on the existing tracks, Engines are designed on the principle of hydrodynamics and lighter material is used in the front. But due to very large railways networks, very few lines are fenced on both sides. So it is very common that some cattle may hit the fast moving train. That wear and tear is due to that only.
I do. Work is progressing in the right direction, for sure
Great videos... Appreciate your honest and unbiased style of reviewing Indian Railways which many Western vloggers often fail to, as they tend to analyse things from a Western perspective, whereas you had a more open minded and objective style of reporting the facts. Coming to trains like VBE,i guess these new age trains in India need to be expanded a bit more, and introduced along additional routes , and IR should also explore newer and more innovative ways of increasing IR's fleet . Trains like these most definitely add value and charm to the country's rail infrastructure but it shouldnt stop at that, if IR is looking to modernize itself to the global scale. And of course, with the Japanese collaboration we will have a bullet train too ! So an equivalent ultra modern and efficient mainstream railway system to couple that would be the greatest thing to have happened to the world's second longest railway system !
You're welcome 🤗
You can also review Vande Bharata 2.0 trains as well. This is Vande Bharat 1.0. We need track up gradation so that trains can run at 200 kmph + speed.
I agree 💯
No, track upgradation is not enough for 200 kmph speed. Track cannot be fenced throughout vast distances. People and cattle have to cross the tracks the divides farm lands and villages. Only elevated tracks is the solution which are too expensive.
These voice overs are the best. I really hope they haven't created to much extra work. The do add to your video's which were already pretty high value.

Do a comparison of 1st Class train travel during British India and NOW. Include also the difference in the quality of food served. I remember roast chicken, grilled veggies and en-suite toilets from my boyhood days!
How will I do that?
is there any logic behind recording at 50 fps than 60 fps ? Or was it recorded at 60fps and reduced to 50 in post ?
Yes, because India's electricity frequency is 50hz, and if I recorded in 60hz, all the lights would flicker. Same as in all of Europe, and most of Asia.
