Can you imagine hearing this worship service?? My heart is filled with joy just imagining the beauty and God loving joy.
"Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him" (Psalm 126:5-6 ESV).
What a comfort these verses are. No matter what happens in life, God is with us, and we can have joy even in the midst of sorrow.
How true it is that we are all works in progress. But, we serve a gracious and merciful God who is patient and long-suffering with us. Praise His holy name!

I love how Nehemiah keeps saying "Remember me O God" because he's trying to obey but the people aren't. It's a good reminder that it's not our job to force others to obey, it's our job to obey and let God handle the rest.
yet we must desire & pray for & seek meekness...and be humble & lowly in heart - not puffed up in self-righteousness. our job is indeed not to change or "fix" people - our job is to love them as we were & are loved. While WE were sinners, He died for us...and yes, we sin still. Sin is sin - we are in no way better than any other.

This was right on time!
This is dear to my heart. Knowing how important worship is to God. Sometimes we take this for granted. We go to our churches, walking in and thru the singing and worship of our God as if it is nothing. Some look at phones, drink their coffee, or even chat during it. Drives me CRAZY. Don’t they know WHO they are singing to??? Don’t they know He is listening? That every time 2 or more are gathered in His name He is there? In the Old Testament we are taught how important the worship is. They go before the battle, it is first in prayers, it is our number 1 duty or calling. Yet so many don’t ever do it. No you don’t have to have a great voice, I don’t, but it’s from your heart. Can’t tell me that some of these people don’t sing in their cars or yell and get excited at football games or their children’s games. He is number ONE and more important than all else. Let’s remember to give Him that place that He deserves.

today's reading and Tara-Leigh's summary made me realise that my heart is busy changing, I find it profound that today's reading says "God made them rejoice with great joy", I have been reading the Bible everyday since January and my heart is being changed by God, only God can do that 😀 He is indeed where the joy is 🌸

Working on the sabbath after God told them not too no good. Sinning against God not good at all. My God shot was definitely when they were praising God with great joy. God is so faithful he is where the joy is. 🙌🏽

Psalm 126 brings to mind the song inspired by it. Here’s the last refrain.
Bringing in the Sheaves
Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master,
Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;
When our weeping's over, He will bid us welcome,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
I was singing that song too. :)
Neh 13:2, "Our God, however, turned the curse into a blessing." Also, Psalm 126:3 "The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy."
I appreciate that not only do you bring out things I never would have seen in scripture but you also make me laugh all the time, TLC! “Like Coachella, but not all.” 😂

I love how Nehemiah took charge, as a leader should, holding the priests, the merchants and the people accountable, requiring obedience to the law. Novel concept, eh? I also loved the historical additions! But the one on David's House required a subscription to the NY Times and didn't appear to be accessible.

Same here. The link to the item found with name Adonijah lists Neh 9:16 as reference but the name is in Neh 10:16
At Ps 126:6 (“Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them”), what are those seeds? Perhaps the burden of grief with faith that God is in the midst of their grief. And then He plants those griefs and tends them and grows something good and fruitful in their lives.
